  1. I know we can pre book the Spa Package by the week at $199 per person, but anyone know how much it would be per day if I would choose to only go a day or two? Is it cheaper on port days? Is it cheaper if you have a service?

    Thank you in advance.

    Wendy

    No option to get it cheaper with a spa service. Price per day was about $49 on the Breakaway the last I checked. Seems like the daily passes were only available on port days, or if they hadn't sold out of the weekly passes. They limit the number of guests in the spa areas, and don't over sell that area.

    Booking a spa cabin includes the use of the thermal spa area for the length of the cruise.

    Pre-booking on line is generally a discount over the pricing charged on the cruise.

  2. No extra amenities with the mini suite other than a bit of extra square feet in the mini suite, tub/shower combination instead of just a shower, and a curtain that separates the sofa from the bed.

    No special dining room for Breakfast in a mini suite on any ship at the current time. Of course there is a main dining room open for breakfast for all passengers.

  3. Does anyone know (I haven't seen it mentioned yet) with this UBP, do you have to sign a receipt with every order? Or is it just like the soda package, you present you card with the sticker on it and they give you a drink? Or actually...is there even a sticker on the card? Is that how they tell you have the UBP? Do they scan your card each time you ask for a drink?

    This will be the first time we have ever had this package and have no clue how it works. We have already paid the 18% grats on this. :)

    Stickers should be on your key card when you receive it. Cards are scanned each time and you do sign a receipt for each drink.

  4. Breakaway usually does the Bahamas 7 day route you mention and is doing a 19 nighter from 27th Dec 15 to 15th Feb 16 which includes the 7 day round trip you mention from 27th Dec to 3rd Jan. Then from 3rd Jan it is

    New York, USA;

    San Juan, Puerto Rico;

    St. Thomas, American Virgin Islands;

    Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands;

    Philipsburg, St. Maarten;

    Roseau, Dominica;

    Bridgetown, Barbados;

    Fort de France, Martinique;

    St. John`s, Antigua

    New York, USA

    After 15th Jan 16 Breakaway has no itineraries again until 15th Feb 16. Perhaps it is in for repairs or has been chartered perhaps?

    Breakaway is doing three 14 day cruises January 3rd, 17th and 31st....not chartered and not being dry docked.

  5. For several years in the past, I have taken the 7 day Caribean cruise out of NYC going to Florida, the private island, Bahama and back. This doesn't exist this coming January. Not on NCL. Not on RC (even though going out of Bayonne is a royal bpain in the neck for me or anywhere. Instead they have both the Gem and Breakaway skipping Florida and the Bahamas but going to San Juan and other places I'm not interested in. Makes no sense to me.

    There weren't any 7 day Florida/Bahamas cruises in January out of NYC in 2014 or 2015. The GEM does the 9-10 day Caribbean cruises, and the Breakaway has done 12 day options the last 2 years, and will be doing a 14 day Caribbean option for 2016 and most likely for 2017.

    The longer cruises sell well, and get you to warmer ports away from the cold of Winter. :)

  6. On our last cruise, in mini suite we had a very large shower, which was just fine. We were told some mini's have the large shower, others simply a bath tub. We will prefer a shower on our upcoming booking. How can we be sure which staterooms have the shower?

    This was done up by one CC's wonderful members....

    Just the family mini suite categories have the tub

  7. Call and ask...I booked back in March and was automatically assigned the UDP. I called a few weeks ago to see if I could change my perk. They looked to see what was available at the time I booked and let me change to the UBP.

    I'm sure I'll get much more use out of that :D

    Right, you can change to another option that was available at the time you made your original reservation. Just can't negotiate and get request something that's not an option.

    We went for the UBP as well :)

  8. We will be in the Haven on the Epic in a few weeks. We got the 4 perk plan - UDP, UBP, Wifi, and excursion help. We will not be using the excursion $75 at all as we have private excursions booked. Has anyone had any success with trading the excursion perk for, say, a couple of water packages? I'm wondering if I should try?

    From the terms and conditions on the current promotion it looks like you're out of luck with any changes.

    Guest cannot substitute or customize this offer.

  9. I understand the 2-night cruises to nowhere on the Breakaway were cancelled beginning January 1st and that the 12 night cruises were extended to 14 nights (with changes in the itinerary). Why can't I find these when I look on NCL? Could they be sold out? We'd love to do the 14 night cruise...

    Definitely not sold out, and they have a wonderful itinerary. They have been off the website for almost 2 weeks once they took down the 12 day option. I believe they can be booked by calling in, and someone mentioned here on CC that they should be back up on the website after the 10th once they have all the cancellations/changes done.

    I'm not sure why they wouldn't have them up and trying to sell on the website, which seems logical. It's possible (my guess) that they may still be adjusting/confirming that new itinerary. I think they may have been rushed to notify the 12 day guests due to social media pressures, before they were quite ready to announce the new itinerary.

  10. You can decide if these are major or not to your cruising experience

    That's all I can think of now...

    oooppss, Ron beat me to it.

  11. I have been trying since Sunday AM and still, nothing happens when you hit 'continue to date & price'. Everyone else seeing that? :confused:

    I just did a mock booking using Firefox with no issues at all, it let me get all the way to the Courtesy hold on the payment page.

  12. I'm thinking about booking the Aft-Facing Penthouse Haven suite on the Breakaway for next year. I noticed that the master bath has huge windows that look out onto the wraparound private deck. We will be 4 in the suite. If someone is in the bath, and someone is on the deck, can they see into the bath? Are there shades that can be pulled down in the bath to prevent anyone from looking in? Just wondering, since the master bathtub is right next to the huge window. I'm considering room 10312, but I think most of the aft-facing haven suites are set up the same way. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

    I've sailed in the aft-facing penthouses on the Breakaway on decks 9 and 14, and love the floor plan on deck 14 (or 11). With those on decks 11/14 you have 2 sliding doors out to the balcony, one in the living room where guests 3/4 sleep and the other in the master bedroom. Nice to get out and use the balcony while guests 3/4 are sleeping. This floor plan also makes the master bedroom look larger and more open. The one on deck 11 has an even larger balcony than on deck 14, but none of them actually wrap around.

  13. Oh well guess I should not have checked it on my last 10 cruises!!!

    There were coolers on our January GEM cruise, the new policy didn't go into affect until after that....right after Norwegian introduced the Water packages. ;)

    I'm not sure if/how they are enforcing it. I don't think I've seen anyone come back here on CC to complain that their coolers were held until the end of the cruise.

    Can I bring my own water or soda onboard?

    Guests are allowed to bring water and soda on board in their original sealed containers. There is no set limit to this amount. We strongly recommend that you carry on the beverages. No coolers of any kind are allowed onboard the ships.

    Unsealed food items will not be allowed onboard.

  15. The Breakaway has the iconcierge app, so phone calls from the ship to home were less than a dollar a minute, if you have a smart phone. About $8 to set up the phone on the ship, but download the app before the cruise. Comes in handy for stuff around the ship as well.

    To reach guests who are sailing onboard Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Pearl, Norwegian Sun, Norwegian Star or Pride Of America using the Norwegian iConcierge Phone Feature, please call: 1-877-308-5605 (Toll-Free, US Only) or 305-400-4629 (Local or Outside US), select the ship the guest is sailing on, and dial their stateroom number or their direct extension.
