  1. 100%, wife wants 2 Lattes in the am and I want one. Very easy to carry and they stay warm.
  2. We also carry Medjet Assist insurance.
  3. Just returned from a 28day Hawaii/Samoa/Tahiti sailing. It was quite the trip. We had close to 9 medical evacuations, deaths( can't confirm ) early arrivals for medicals,a 180 turn back to Papeete to do a air evac, but it was determined too rough and instead did an unscheduled stop in Nuku Hiva to evac a passenger. This was a long cruise and at 65, I felt young. Reading from our roll call post cruise it seems that there was a problem getting into the medical dept. Did see a few "covid" tables, but the big thing going around was the Bronchial Infection. Soooo many people hacking, it sounded like pier 39 at San Fran with the seals barking. The last 8 days were at sea and it was amazing to see the ship so empty out and about. Dining room, you could hear the hacking all over the place. From what I've read, people were having a hard time getting into medical and some were just turned away. It was posted that they were only taking "life threatening" cases. They ran out of meds for the controlled sick people. We didn't go to shows or crowded venues, but I suspect I got the infection in the coughing line to tender back to the ship in Moorea. Luckily I'm in good physical shape and health. My symptoms slowly crept up till I really accepted it on the last day of the cruise. I didn't start the hacking till Friday when we disembarked and then was masked up for my fellow passengers. What my PSA is, make sure you take your own meds! We had Dayquil/Nightquil, Musinex, Airborne, and Cordecendan. And we had a good supply of masks! I know the Dr is an independent contractor, but wonder who determines what and quantity of meds onboard. This cough is a B*tch, not fun at all. Hope for speedy recovery of all those infected on this cruise. I did my best not to pass it along, can't say that for a lot of the other seals. Aloha
  4. Didn't try that. If not sailing solo, what if you try and create separate booking for 2nd cruise under other passenger as lead name? Never know with Princess.
  5. We totally "blinged" out Moms scooter. No doubt who it belonged to!
  6. I just did a dummy bid while looking at 2025 Panama canal sailings and guess what? I was able to book and chose a cabin in the ME Cat on the Emerald Princess, but still wasn't able to book one on the Crown in same time frame. Nothing is standard with Princess these days.
  7. I just ran a few dummy bookings to find the same thing. Lead in was what my TA told me . I was worried when club class camei that they'd take those rooms. Guess they're not as desirable as we think. Of to look at Holland and Celebrity offerings.
  8. Awhile back in a posting someone posted that they were unable to book a Cat ME mini suite. On the Grand and the Crown class ships these cabins are the ones far aft on the Emerald Deck, and the ones full forward on the Dolphin deck. There are only 6 on each side of the ship on the Emerald. They are very desirable as they are fully covered and the back 2 have extended balconies. We love these cabins and have sailed in them numerous times. We just returned from a 28day sailing on the Crown in one of them. We also have one booked on the Carib Princess for the summer of 2024 in Europe. Why have they gone to this pricing? I just got off the phone with a not so helpful PVP, and she assured me that the cat ME is guar only. Anyone have an email or # to call to try and see if there is anyway to book one of these cabins, or at least find out why they have gone to this model. We might just have to switch companies for our cruise in Aus/NZ as we don't want an uncovered mini in the heat. Mahalo, just a bit frustrated.
  9. Guess I missed that one, but did enough Chocolate Chip cookies to hold me over till our Sept Regal cruise. What I missed from before in the Carib was the "specialty" days. Ramen, Indian, Chinese Wok, and others. Sure hope the Regal has a better buffet for our next 25days, and alot less coughing hacking clueless passengers!
  10. We have Verizon and cell service worked great in ports and while in range of the port. We were able to use Wifi calling and even with a slight lag, facetime the grandkids while at sea. Just be sure you don't grab Cell at Sea or whatever it's called and get your land based cellular. Also found it to work better in port to sign off Medallion Net when I wanted to use cell service.
  11. They for sure didn't swap out the mattress's our bed was like a wok! The sofa in our mini also had seen better days. We went adrift for about an hour on way back north from Tahiti due to a broken cooling pipe breaking in the engine room, otherwise propulsion was normal. They even had to crank it up to arrive in PPT about 14hrs early for medical evacs. Regular maint was being done with an elevator out of service here and there. Didn't see any buckets for leaks. Overall ship was in good condition, and we had no complaints( but sore backs from bed 🙃.)Crew was awesome! Buffet was worse I've experienced in all our cruises. The layout and facility's on the ship were all the same as in 2016 when we last on her. Carib Cafe was never open for our 28days.
  12. I bought them last time on the app, this time I wanted to inquire about Auz so thought I'd just get it done. Could've saved time.
  13. If I'm staying outside in a particular place, I will give a small tip. Then you don't even need to use the app as the server will come back often to check on you.
  14. Hardly ever use Princess excursions, wondering how the 10% discount works. If it's refunded as OBC, can it then be used for something else? Crown Grill, another excursion? Is it refundable? Mahalo
  15. Just off the Crown last week. I went to the Futures desk and asked to purchase 3 FCC for my wife and 3 for myself. Checked the next day and saw that we each had $150.00 in FCC???? Asked the same person when the Auz/NZ 2025 season was to open for sale and was told "no idea". It opened 2 days later. I had to go back and get the supervisor to reissue my FCC properly.
  16. We were on the Crown when it last visited Lahaina and we made sure to get back around 1pm. Line wasn't too bad, but the ship was only receiving at one dock and the driver was being trained. Not good.
  17. Hopefully Thanksgiving will be better than what we had for Easter!! We were in Michelangelo dining room and had 2 of the best servers we've ever had. Dining room food was good, we had a table for 2 at 6;40 and dinner was always hot and efficent.
  18. It was the first time on a Royal class ship, and we really enjoyed it. We've sailed almost exclusively in mini suites and on the Royal we had a deluxe balcony room. The extra 2 seater couch was a big plus over a regular balcony room. The balconies on the Royal class ship are smaller but that didn't matter. The Royal has so many great viewing spots. I loved sitting at the aft bar and enjoying the scenery as we sailed. What I missed on our most recent cruise on the Crown was the variety of food venues that the Royal offers. The buffet on the Royal sure beat the layout on the Crown. Beautiful ship, great time. Enjoy! We are on the Regal in Sept, and can't wait.
  19. I just order 8 beers at a time from room service and have them delivered. My fridge was always full! I did have the package.
  20. Sailed the Royal last May and just got off the Crown. Excellent staff on the Crown, however the buffet was worse than my 1980's college dorm food. Bad layout and horrible selection. Could've been Astoria was missed due to conditions of the Columbia River Bar.
  21. Think we'll go with the Riviera Deck. Thanks for feedback. Was once 2 decks below the Pizza area on a Carnival ship and it sounded like a bowling alley.
  22. It's in the 300 range, looks like under pool deck.
  23. Looking at upgrading to a mini suite on the Regal on the Marina deck. Just wondered how noisy they get from the Lido deck up above. We have stayed many times in an aft mini on the Grand and Crown class above Club Fusion and it hasn't bothered us, but thats music and not chairs scraping. Any thoughts?
  24. We did the turn in Whittier, only it was on the Royal. Totally enjoyed our day walking around, hiking behind the town building on trails by the stream. Had lunch at a dockside bar. Really relaxing place with alot of history. Of course we had beautiful shorts and T-shirt weather with clear skys.
