I have to say that the October cruise to Hawaii was almost perfect. 4 of us had a very good time. It is what you make it. Yes it was cold, yes it rained, yes we misssed Ensenada almost, yes we ate too much. We did enjoy Hawaii and please go see the islands. I went 30 years ago and i flew there. This time i sailed there. I would do it again in a heartbeat if i could afford it. Hawaii is beautifull.... Please plan on going there whichever way you can get there. Beauty is worth every minute to see it. Enjoy your cruises. there will always be something wrong in life. Just make it enjoyable and move on....

I also don't remember turning around for a sick passenger.
:)
I stated on the October 15 day cruise to Hawaii we had to turn around and take a person back. 5 hour delay. We sound like we had a much nicer time than you all did. We had looked at going in December and i am so GLAD we went in October.... We had a great group and a great Halloween party and meet and greet and slot pull and so many other things going on. We had a free drink party also....
Carnival did it up for us all on board. Free drinks and i mean lots of them for the party for all on the ship. Beer and mixed drinks. I had never seen that... that cost money....

Did Marianne ever get her luggage? she is the one that had a lost suitcase on our cruise. Her husbands dress shoes were in that bag. He had to wear tennis shoes with his suit on formal night she said. Didn't ruin their cruise either. LOL
Oh well, as i said enjoy life. Cruise on.

Yes, October cruise. Enjoy your cruises.

As i posted earlier i enjoyed the Miracle and the 15 days to Hawaii and back. Yes, with all cruises there are bumps and groans crossing the seas. The Captain tried his best to make up our 5 hour delay, but just did not make it. I am glad the lady that was taken off in the ambulance was reported to be stable. It was not his fault, he decided to turn back 2.5 hours out from Hawaii and to take her back. Medical issues are major concerns. We just were late and shortened in Ensenada. Trip was terrific. I would go again in a heartbeat.. Enjoy your cruises. Life is short..

Yes, Hawaii is beautiful. You will enjoy it.. We did.

I do Not join in these comments. I was on the Miracle for 15 days and loved her. I would go again tomorrow if i could get off work and afford it. Yes there is a lot of movement going across the open seas, Not the ships fault. We were told to expect movement. Yes she tossed front to back and side to side. we were lucky and did not get sick. I enjoyed every minute of the cruise.
We had an emergency and had to turn back and was delayed 5 hours because of the person having to be taken back for medical emergency. The ambulance took her off. Therefore we did not get to Ensenada till dark. That was interesting. Not the captains fault. Some stayed on the ship. We toured and ate and had fun.
The captain came on every DAY at lunchtime and told us what to expect with the next days weather and so on. He told us to expect coldfront swells and that the ship would be rocking. I have been on several other cruises and the Captain never told us what to expect. I admired him for that.
Food on the buffet is never up to the dining rooms quallity. We eat in the dining room and loved it all. Service was slower some nights due to one dining room instead of two. Smaller ship. I was not impressed with the steakhouse.
That being the only negative.
Summary: I loved the Miracle. She is decorated very nicely.
A cruise is what you make of it.
Thanks
Debbie

We just finished the HI tour for 15 days from Long Beach on the Miracle. It was amazing. We used Rickys tours on Hilo. Roberts tours on the other islands. wonderful. I would pick a day to just go to the beach and laze around. we had tours each day and it was all day long process. I was glad we had booked so we knew what we were doing each day. Some people spent hours trying to figure out what to do. We enjoyed the whole cruise. It was cool and rocky on the way over and the way back. I wore jeans on the cruise. Sweat jacket etc. If you are the lease bit sea sick you will need meds. The ship rocks back and forth and front to back rocking.

Well, I just returned from the 15day Hawaii trip from Long Beach. It was awesome. I had did the research ahead of time and booked tours on each island with Roberts Tours and Rickys Tours on Hilo. I was not dissapointed. Yes we were on a large tour bus most days, with about 10-12 people. We did have a small bus one day and a tour van with Rickys. Strongly recommend Rickys for Hilo. He took us to amazing places. Volcano, Rainbow falls, National parks, steam vents for volcanos, lava tube was awesome. He took us to orchids farm, mac nut factory and black sand beach. He was delaying in starting because we had to wait on a couple to show up, but we got the extra time on the end. He was very informative. I would not take a roberts tours on each day as we did. I would leave a beach day and a do nothing day some where. We were toured out by 5 days of tours. Roberts Tours offers specials for each island in advance. Big bus and person waiting at each island to direct you to the right spot. Some people were trying to find something to do when they got to each island. Not happening. Not enough time to waste. We loved Carnival Miracle and Roberts Tours and Ricky's tours. Sea days were a little rough and rocky. Cool 2 nights going and 2 days coming back. Had rain one day. Watched movie on the big screen in the theater. Was ok... Strongly recommend this 15 day trip. Long Beach was intersting to load on the ship i will say. Galveston has it down.... Lax was a nightmare to get loaded on Sunday afternoon.....

Just my thoughts... Cruise was fabulous... Food so so... I could see a cut in staff with Carnival. I still have two more cruises scheduled.. Did not change my mind about Carnival. Dining room food was awesome most days. They did seem rushed and short handed some. Room steward has one helper on this ship and he does the cleaning along with helper. Usually three and room steward does not clean. Different on this cruise. He worked very hard. Couple of days no wash cloths,,,, changed sheets one time in two weeks..... Did not clean floors every day.... small things i did notice... Over worked and rushed he seemed.. Entertainment was bad... Comedians were terrible, shows so so.. etc. Bottom of the budget it seemed. Not what we have heard in the past. Casino smaller on this ship... smoking most places in the casino.
water was cold in the pools. too cold most days to swim. very few people in pool. only 57 kids on cruise this time of the year. Mostly age group 60 plus...
quite, no music at pools, no entertainment as on carribean cruises. No party atmosphere on this ship. slow laid back type cruise.. Enjoyed very much... 15 days awesome..... Rain one day coming back.. Rough seas most days.. if you have a little sea sickness you could not take this cruise. cool front coming down from Alaska, the captain said. swells to 12 ft a couple of days going and coming back... rocked both ways. up and down and side to side. very different..

5 Year Anniversary to Hawaii - October 18th, 2014 (
This is our roll call. join to read and learn anyway. 37 now confirmed for the meet and greet planned.
We are using Roberts Tours as it was very affordable. I do not want to be the driver. You miss a lot having to drive. These tours are on a big bus is the drawback. That is why is is cheaper.
-
ok. i will research that. lol.. i was told Jones Act... i know nothing about it.
i have a passport , but two going with us only have birth certificates.. we do leave and return to LA so we should be fine. Hawaii is US, but i was wondering about the mexico stop. It would be closed loop because we do end where we start. Right?
-
yes, thanks. we will be ok with birth certificate only then. we start and end in Long Beach.. We do stop in Mexico so we can end at Long Beach. Jones Act. etc...
-
Free.....lol...
wonderful everything. Mango watermelon salsa to die for....
sad,Miracle does not have one.....
-
Am i correct in saying birth certificates are ok to sail from LA to Hawaii???
leaving and returning from LA....
the rules say transpacific cruises require passport. LA to Hawaii is not considered transpacific?
Anyone know for sure. I called carnival and there was a long wait.
thanks
this is what site says:
Sailings from Hawaii and Transpacific Cruises
U.S. citizens must have a valid passport.
