  1. We are on this cruise also. We were with our friends in Chartreuse when all the spills happened.
We also went to the penguin sanctuary. That was amazing.

Ironically there was an article in Apple News that the US Coast Guard are investigating all the injuries and deaths in November and December involving Zodiac boats in the Antarctic.

I for one would rather go on Regent and see more of South America as well as Antarctica.

  2. I drink caffeine free Diet Coke and Diet Coke. I filled out the preference form but no go. Our butler is wonderful but he could not find caffeine free and Diet Coke. I guess it is not available in South America. Just Coke Light and Coke Zero.

We had a great surprise yesterday.   When we stopped by the Retreat we noticed that one of the Host's was Mar from Summit.   We were expecting Penelope who was also on Summit with us a couple months ago but she had to unexpectedly fly home due to family matters.

The other host had also left so the team is all new.      Mar was suppose to have gone to Sillhouette, then Edge and then Summit.   She only found out a day before her flight that they needed her on Solstice.    I feel sorry for the crew at times but they say they have to be flexible.     Many of you remember we had recommended Mar as a Retreat Manager.   SHE IS REALLY GOOD.

We also were surprised to find that Anesthesia is the Retreat Manager.   They also moved Ken from Guest Relations to Retreat so this is new to him as well.   While the staff struggled with the sudden full turn over they grabbed the bull by the horn and are delivering a great experience.

    Love Mar. She is wonderful.

  4. We had the same issue two weeks ago on Beyond in the Retreat Lounge. It was our first time on an E class ship. We love the experience of the M and S class ships in a suite.

There was no music in the lounge, and no Sailaway. I asked the concierge why not and they said the helipad was too small. The last few years on the Summit, they had the sailaway on the Retreat Sundeck.

There was not much interaction with the concierges. The bartenders were wonderful though.

We have not yet sailed with Regent, but we've read enough here on CC to know it's very possible to be assigned a less than desirable hotel in a less than desirable location.  We have a number of Regent cruises booked and we've taken the credit on all.  In Miami were staying on points for three nights at Hyatt Centric Brickell Miami.

Love the Hyatt Centric. Wonderful hotel and location.

  6. We always tip $1 a drink each time to the Retreat Bartender. I don't know if they get extra for working there. But they are very grateful that you are thinking of them. We started that when we cruised on Royal Caribbean in a suite and went to the concierge lounge.
