We boarded Splendor today just after your disembarked. We also had FTTF. Received an email yesterday from Carnival saying there would be a delay in disembarking so to arrive an hour later than scheduled for checkin. Since we had FTTF and were coming straight from LAX from an early morning flight, we arrived at Long Beach about 1015. We were in the front of the FTTF checkin line and they opened the doors about 1120. Checked in quickly and then had to await for another hour before they let the Captain's Lounge group in, with us FTTF people right on their heels. Our rooms were ready for us on boarding and then we were straight to the trough at the buffet! Have just left port so we have now officially started cruising!

Just back from Stone Island and we went to Lettys ,,,,had two loungers and a table ...we each had a beer and a Pina Colada ...then we shared a plate of Nachos ....it came to 16 u.s. ....we gave him a twenty and then tipped our waiter extra ....Thanks Ramone !!!!!

Hey Mark, I too have lost many a 'written masterpiece' when either the connection times out, laptop fizzled out, hit the wrong button etc. Now I usually compose my 'masterpieces' in word and then copy/paste. Rewriting a second, or third time is never as fun or magnificent! ;p

How do I attach a file to a post?

To attach a file to your post, you need to be using the main 'New Post' or 'New Thread' page and not 'Quick Reply'. To use the main 'New Post' page, click the 'Post Reply' button in the relevant thread.

On this page, below the message box, you will find a button labelled 'Manage Attachments'. Clicking this button will open a new window for uploading attachments. To upload a file from your computer, click the 'Browse' button and locate the file. To upload a file from another URL, enter the full URL for the file in the second box on this page. Once you have completed one of the boxes, click 'Upload'.

What files types can I use? How large can attachments be?

How do I add an image to a post?

If you have uploaded an image as an attachment, you can click the arrow next to the 'Attachment Icon' and select it from the list. This will be inserted into your post and can be located where you want it displayed.

To include an image that is not uploaded as an attachment and is located on another website, you can do so by copying the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located), and either pressing the 'Insert Image' icon or by typing after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image. You can insert pictures from your albums (?) in this way too.

Great to see that the cruise ship industry is finally getting people from the US to Cuba. We Canadians have been travelling to Cuba trouble free all along and have quite enjoyed having the opportunity to enjoy the fabulous country, beaches, lovely Cuban people and culture relatively stuck in time. I think that will now all be changing. Interesting to hear how anxiety provoking this can be for people visiting from the US for the first time in over half a century! Cuban people are very welcoming, family oriented and most are highly educated. A very rich culture and certainly worthwhile to visit.

Are there any shuttle services anyone would recommend for a family of 5 to get from an LAX hotel to the Long Beach cruise terminal?

We have booked our family of 10 with Payless Airport Shuttle. Pickup at LAX for transfer to Long Beach Cruise Terminal and then back again after the cruise. They are providing car seats and boosters.

I emailed the Aquarium and they will store luggage at their info desk while you are visiting the Aquarium. That is what our family plans to do following our upcoming cruise before heading to LAX for late afternoon flight home.

Who did you book with, if you don't mind me asking. We fly into LAX the night before.

We've booked transfers for our group of 10 with Payless Airport Shuttle. Also using them back to LAX post cruise.

Bandits and Ronanc-will either of you be using the parking garage next to the ship? We sailed on the Miracle to Mexico a couple of times. Both times we had to park clear on top of the parking garage as all the other levels were totally full. I know the Splendor can carry more passengers so I am wondering if being able to park right there will be an issue. Parking was $19 per day last year.

No parking for us. We fly into LAX and have booked a private van for transfer.

Ronanc, Please post your experience with FTTF boarding and room access for your cruise next week. I'll do the same after our March 24 cruise on Splendor. Others following us are interested too.

Linsuesue, I see on another thread about FTTF luggage delivery that a cruiser who just got off Splendor on March 10 says they were on the ship about 1100 with FTTF. Hopefully some others with FTTF respond too regarding the time they did get on the ship and whether their staterooms were ready on boarding

We just got off the Splendor on March 10th. We had FTTF for both of our cabins. While I thought it was a great value, we put our orange FTTF priority luggage tags on our bags and we did not see those bags until after 3pm with everyone else. Not sure what happened. We were on the ship shortly after 11am. Was not a big deal for us. I would still get the FTTF again for the very helpful other benefits.

Bulldogsoc, Good to hear you boarded by 1100 with FTTF; we have FTTF for Splendor March 24 and I have been wondering how early we may actually get on the ship. Our printed luggage tags have the FTTF on them and we will look for the orange priority luggage tags too (and see if that makes any difference for luggage arrival!).

Now that there have been a number of Splendor sailings from Long Beach Cruise Port, I am hoping some people have used FTTF and can let me know what time they allowed FTTF check in and FTTF boarding and whether you did indeed have immediate access to your staterooms and if so what time that was? Thanks in advance!

So if we have FTTF and get early boarding plus can access our rooms right away, it also might make sense for us to take our rolling suitcases with us to avoid delay in luggage arrival. I read heard some reports that even with priority luggage delivery, the luggage may arrive just before or even after dinner.

We didn't; our son hasn't ever really gotten into Dr. Seuss. We did do the build a bear workshop, which was offered twice during the cruise. You have to sign up and wait to be called, and it costs extra (he got a monkey with clothing and accessories and it cost $50)
