  1. I'm sorry that you contracted Covid. One thing that baffles me. Another cruiser on a different Royal ship said his wife contracted covid and although she was moved and quarantined, her husband was allowed to roam the ship with no limitations.
  2. I've flown back and forth from the East Coast to Los Angeles 4 times in the past year. I think it's true when they say it's fairly safe on airplanes due to the air filtration system. Plus, I wear a mask on the flight even when it's not mandated.
  3. Wouldn't it be prudent to get tested to avoid possibly infecting others if you do have Covid?
  4. When my husband was quarantined due to influenza in February 2020, he was given broth, jello and tea. He did not even have a choice. He felt like crap, so it didn't really matter. We were more concerned with the outstanding medical care he was given and the doctors and nurses were wonderful. Being able to order Escargot and Beef Wellington were of no concern to him 🙂
  5. I would bet your "sinus infection" was probably Covid and you had a low enough viral load to test negative. Werr your tests PCR or antigen?
  6. Im very surprised they are letting you roam around the ship. As a close contact, I would think they would restrict your movement.
  7. Unvaccinated (especially older folks) typically get sicker than those who are vaccinated. Maybe the cruiselines are trying to avoid having unlimited numbers of people who get very sick vs those who are vaccinated test positive, but do not require interevention, such as hospitalization. And before this becomes a big debate, I understand some vaccinated can also get quite sick, but that is not typical.
  8. In the medical practice I work in , the cases are exploding again. And many healthy, young, vaccinated and boosted with no comorbidities are getting quite sick. Not hospitalized, but not simple cold symptoms either.
  9. Yes, I would. If someone close to me had strep throat (to use your example) and 2 days later I started with strep symptoms, I would get tested.
