The docks are short, and once you do the short walk to port authority, you are in town, very close to everything.

What excursions were you thinking of?

I have been told you have to wait till you board.

As a vegetarian, I appreciate all of your food photos and info. I am apprehensive about the vegetarian options. I have asked and can't get a reply about what things are cooked with chicken and beef broth. I know sometimes the mushroom dishes are not vegetarian.

For Formal night, I don't think any of the appetizers are vegetarian?

Oh well, at least I get one more cruise with the old style menus.

It was sad to see the sushi bar disappear. It was always a nice treat before dinner to get some sushi as an appetizer.

I always just told my kids what they were allowed to spend for the week. Of course, they were older - teenagers.

If you choose to do Tulum, I would do it via a ship excursion. It's quite a long distance to the Mainland, and ferry schedules can be "iffy".

I would hire a driver. The rental cars are not always mechanically sound, and other drivers can be downright scary.

If there was ever an accident, no matter whose fault it was, the tourist would be blamed.

Look around at the excursions offered, by your ship, and reputable companies. Choose one of them. (Read thru the port of call threads - Good companies will become apparent.)

Depends what you are looking for. The 3 day cruises from Long Beach will be party boats for sure.

Amphibious bus? That's like those Duck tours in Boston? Drive around for a while, then drive straight into the water, and it becomes a boat?

Those are fun, and kids love them!

I think both rooms will have a fridge. Not positive.

No food off ship, unless it's those tiny, unopened boxes of cereal. If we plan on an excursion away from food, we bring granola bars etc.

Teen camps are highly dependent on the mix of kids on ship that week. Get them to attend the first night to check it out and meet people, and then tell them it's their decision for the rest of the cruise. Lots of kids form posses. The sports deck is popular.

Food is all-you-can-eat. 24 hour pizza is great. Unlimited soft ice-cream. Room service is great, but tip the waiter $2-$5 depending on the volume of food ordered.

On St. Marten, check out Maho Beach. That is where the planes land right overhead. Spectaculer! You can google for great video.

8, When your cruise ticket says check-in is 1-3 pm is that in stone? (Cause what if we get to terminal earlier?)

Lots of nice dining areas. Look for the deli section - terrific fresh made sandwiches. 24 hour pizza. Grill area for hamburgers, etc.

Lunch in dining room only on sea days. Breakfast every day.

Get there at 11. Small possibility you might have to wait, but not likely.
