There are several threads on here about people who have actually experienced the new menus. One person did a back to back, with old menus swapping to new menus. Give the search function a try.
They have already modified things, and brought back the shrimp cocktail as a nightly option.

The aft balconies are very nice, to sit and watch the wake of the ship.
However, none of the balconies are truly private. There are little gaps between the balcony partitions. And there are cameras everywhere. Each cabin has an outer light, and if your neighbors leave their light on, you will be in the light. -
Yes, for insurance, look at insuremytrip dot com. Definitely get insuarance as that is hurricane season. Probably no issues, but you never can tell.
That is a very nice itinerary. Love Half Moon Cay and Grand Turk.
Have fun!

The Waterworks is a lot of fun. I've seen lines, but they move quickly.
You want connecting rooms, not adjoining.
Most restaurants are included in the general fare.
Have fun!

Depends on what ship. Will you use the spa? I would get one on the Dream class ships.

We got birthday decorations once, but they kept falling down. I would not pay money for them. Ours were free due to a snafu with the reservations.

Any place in the Caribbean accepts American dollars. But bring lots of small bills. They may give change in local currency, at a very poor exchange rate.

If you can, I would wait till after she turns 2, so she can use Camp Carnival.
Have you checked out the airfare to San Juan? That might alter plans.
An itinerary that includes either Roatan or Grand Turk has nice beaches right at the ports, with no car travel needed. Even shady spots.
Have fun!

I love Half Moon Cay (beautiful beach day), and Grand Turk. (Great snorkeling/diving).

They might announce the whole ship is Anytime Dining. That's what they did for us last year in Venice.

I think Carnival initially projects high for Taxes. People are much happier with small rebates, instead of any increases. I've never seen an increase for taxes on my S&S.

Option 1: 7 night Carnival Magic from Galveston with ports of Montego Bay, Grand Cayman and Cozumel leaving April 27, 2014
Option 2: 7 night Carnival Dream from New Orleans with ports of Mahogany Bay, Belize and Cozumel leaving April 27, 2014
Are you driving or flying to port? Check out airfares first.
Just from the ports, they are fairly equal. I think I would choose the Dream. I like Roatan and Cozumel.

We practically always get Ocean view cabins. Love staring out at the water from so low.

I am going solo on my next cruise (and it is 118 nights) and am looking forward to having a cabin to myself and being able to do what I want when (or if) I want.
118 nights? Wow! That sounds like a wonderful cruise! Enjoy!

I've gone solo on several cruises. Enjoyed myself tremendously.
People are very friendly. Do try to look for cruises with no single supplement.

Spring break varies in schools across the country. Any time from mid-Feb to late April.
There will be lots of kids anytime in spring and summer.
-
It also depends on what ship you are on. Dream, Magic & whatever the other fancy Dream class ship is have roughly the same things, but Sunshine is lacking some of the amenities.

Something else to consider. My husband had his wallet stolen last year. Drivers license gone. This happened Wed, and he had to fly on Friday. It was hell get a new driver's license quickly. What other photo id with date of birth do people have? He had a passport, but it had expired several years ago.
Very very difficult.......

We think we are going to take the Liberty to San Juan, St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Grand Turk in August. He will be 3 by the time we go. We aren't sure if we should do an "interior" with a picture window on a higher deck or an ocean view on deck 2. We would love to go with a balcony, but it is above budget at this point, as we need 2 staterooms on the Liberty because we are 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) and there aren't any family ocean view staterooms on that ship.
I would do an oceanview on deck 2. The rooms are a bit larger. Try to get connecting rooms.
Grand Turk is great. Really nice pool and beach just off the dock. Wonderful beach day for free.

Getting a diet coke takes the same amount of work for the waiter, but with les tips attached. It shouldn't matter, but it does. The $1 nightly tips make a difference.
-
As long as there are no docking problems, it should not take very long. The longest time is spent waiting to get off the ship while people pose for photos on the exit gangplank. Try to be waiting in line early, so you can be near the front of the line.

Any noise would be middle-of-the-day stuff. They actually have fairly limited hours. And with that being said, I don't think the noise would make it to the cabins.
-
Option A. I just prefer extra time for problems, or miscalculations.

I'm guessing it's because of the size of the strap for the snorkel vest.
Is snorkeling better in Grand Turk or St.Thomas
in Scuba and Snorkeling

I prefer the snorkeling in Grand Turk. The reef sees less traffic and is healthier.
I would book a snorkel tour, to get you out to the wall. I love Crystal Seas Adventures. Ask for Daniel,
Two years ago, in April, a whale shark showed up and played with us for 10 minutes. He stayed shallow, and kept circling back to us. That, of course is very rare, but the best scuba-dive of my life.
Google Crystal Seas, and see some of their photos.
