  1. FWIW, I did a mock booking and was able to select flights. Hopefully the wait when you call will be short...
  2. Which TA are you sailing on? I see 3...the last leaving 10/30 which is probably too early to pick flights for.
  3. You might need to wait a few more days. I think 330 (or so) days is when you pick a flight. Perhaps the first leg is available but not the return?
  4. Racist is a stretch. The simpler and more likely answer is incompetence of the IT staff. Give them a call and see if they can register you over the phone...
  5. Thanks. I guess my problem is I booked on a Tuesday...should have booked Wed or Mon 🙂
  6. All, to follow up for anyone else searching this thread. I called back again and got a rep a little more knowledgeable (or seemingly so). He said there is a new policy and the OBC doesn't show until final payment. That's fine with me...gives me 90 days to yell at them if there is a problem. Again, this is *new*, so if you booked a while back, you'll probably see the OBC.
  7. Thanks...this is what I assumed. I will have to call back again and get it added.
  8. I'm being told now that MSC doesn't apply this, or even show it on your booking, until you are on the ship. This is for booking 9-12mo in advance. I'm "assured" it will show up once I'm onboard, even though nothing is in writing saying I'm getting it. Every time I've sailed MSC and been told something would be taken care of onboard, guess what...it wasn't. So, anyone else booking 12mo in advance hear this same thing?
  9. All, thank you for the prompt and detailed answers. You've all been very helpful.
  10. LOL, this is madness. I understand it's a separate line, but Carnival (which has a 15 drink limit on alcohol) works completely differently. They print the number of drinks (once you've hit 10) on your receipt. I've also never been asked to sign a non-zero receipt and be told it will come off. I would think that would cause all sorts of confusion (like you said the BTs spending the first day explaining it.
  11. Were you asked to sign the receipt with the dollar amount on it?
  12. Thank you. Were you able to get the double charge (you and your husband on the same card) taken care of at guest services? Crazy they can't tell you the limit...
  13. I didn't "doubt" the information, but many times things change by ship, or even on the same ship in different areas. Just wanted to confirm it. Interesting about all receipts priced...that absolutely doesn't make sense. I wouldn't want to sign a slip saying I owe money when I don't.
  14. I asked 2 questions related to what happens when you hit 16. I also asked is it true the bartenders can't tell you where you are with respect to your limit. guess you need to read the full text in context to understand what you answered wasn't what i was asking. @brovolsummarized it perfectly.
  15. Thanks, and I knew that, but that wasn't my question 🙂
  16. I saw in another post that someone said HAL bartenders cannot tell you where you are on your 15 drink limit - is this correct? If so, what happens when/if you hit 16? Do you get a non-zero receipt to sign? Can you at that point say you don't want the drink? TIA
  17. I've been following this because I had the same Q as the OP...For me it is under Gifts and Gear...
  18. This is correct...it is income. However, as said above, the income we were discussing was gambling winnings.
  19. You need to read the context. I could have copied it all, but assumed you were following along...I guess not. The income we were talking about was gambling winnings. This is what started the discussion about paying taxes. All gambling is 100% reportable AND taxable. Not confusing anything, but you certainly are. Since you've moved on, hopefully you'll follow more closely next time.
  20. Lol, I was one of those people 😀 Please accept my apologies.
  21. Great point, esp about YC which has undergone lots of changes post covid.
  22. What's surprising is how fast and loose some play with their obligations to pay duty. 😀 Ps...(in Beavis voice) heh, you said doody
  23. Correct. But no one is confused about how to declare. Or if legally, you should declare.
