My boys have graduated. (Yay!) When we cruised when they were in high school, we worked on the way and on the way back (several hours in the car), learned about the ports before we went, and went to educational places, like Chichen Itza. That's all. That's the beauty of homeschooling!
Have a great time.

Thanks. That's kind of what I was thinking too. DH says we are not getting back on a Fantasy Class ship again. I think we will, just different time of year. We knew this one would be rough since the oil rig, at the mouth of the Mississippi River, was measuring 12 ft seas the few days prior to us sailing. We just didn't expect it to last for days.
Yeah, that was when I was on the Conquest!
The show that they cancelled (same one twice) was Divas by the Playlist performers. They put a catwalk out over the middle of the audience seats and strut up and down while they are singing. I can understand why they would cancel that one. That catwalk isn't really big.

Got off Elation Halloween cruise with a small Carnival tote bag and a photo album. Then the next day boarded the Conquest, and got 2 Turvis tumblers. I was glad to get the variety, but my husband wears hats, so that would have been OK also.

I just got off the Conquest on 11-9. The first sea day was so rough they cancelled the show in the big show lounge. Then the last sea day, it was even worse so they cancelled again. The last day may not have been the worst weather I have encounter on a cruise, but it lasted the longest. I didn't hear of anyone getting thrown out of bed, but they had to keep replenishing the barf bags. I didn't get sick, but if the roughness had continued just a little longer, I may have.
I can't say how another class ship would have done in those conditions. I was on the Elation a week before the Conquest cruise, and the seas weren't bad at all. This was my second time on the Conquest, and the first cruise (in January) the seas were pretty calm.
I think your thinking is on the right track -- somewhere in between -- but it does depend on the motion of the seas.:)

We were in 1030 last week on the panorama deck. We had one. It's a standard mirror on one side, and magnifying on the other.

I was on the Conquest Nov 3 thru Nov 9. Here's what was on:
11-4 The Bourne Legacy 11 pm
11-5 The Lucky One 8 pm
Playing for Keeps 10 pm
11-6 Lincoln 6:30 pm
11-7 Iron Man 2 8 pm
Iron Man 3 10:30 pm
No movies on sail-away day or last sea day. Lots of sports!
They may not be the same, but will probably be about as new as these.
Hope this helps. Enjoy your cruise!

another one:
... when people know they can start a conversation with you with, "So when's your next cruise?"

The Taste Bar is only open on sea days from 5:30 to 8:30. The little tastes were yummy!

This is ONLY a guess, but Nestle is widely sold in Europe (isn't it a European brand?). I wonder if the European Nestle recipes are different from the American Nestle recipes, meaning the European stuff is better, and that's what they serve on the ship.
I don't know if this is the reason or if it's just that we're on a cruise or what.
I have also seen them filling it with Nestle, but it tastes SO much better than at home!

I didn't know so many people took pictures of their cruising happy feet. I do it every time. Here's one of my favorites:

We made t-shirts for 12 people for my son's graduation cruise last January. We had a local company do it because I didn't have time or talent to do them myself. They were about $10 each. That includes shirt and design.
Question for Platinum cruisers
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
The charge on your sail and sign, then taking it back off again, is just their way of accounting so they can keep track of laundry charges. I haven't had a charge of $45, just $15 then credit for the same amount.
If you have questions about the laundry when you get on board, just ask your cabin steward. I was clueless on my Platinum cruise, except for the fact that I got free laundry.
Enjoy!
