I tried to book a cruise yesterday that specifically stated $99 deposit. But when it was time to pay the $99 deposit, it said my minimum deposit was $600.  I put the cruise on hold and am now dreading the fact that I have to call to find out what is going on. Not looking forward to having to deal if the atrocious call center people.

Send me an email at mattandnay@yahoo.com and I will put you in touch with someone that may be able to help you.

I have to say that was my fear, read of several Princess ships and NCL the same but oddly have not hear coughing and it so far seems to be a healthy ship. But keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏻. The thing I found strange is at no time all the way up to boarding did we have to fill out a Health Questionnaire, that really surprised me.

Glad to hear that and hope it continues that way. We didn't have to fill out a health questionnaire on our July New England cruise. Seems strange that they would do away with them.

  3. My wife and I typically cruise on Holland America. She wanted to do something different for her 50th birthday, so we have a 7-day January cruise booked on the Sky Princess.

We love renting the Retreat Cabanas on HAL, so I’m interested in finding out the procedure for renting a cabana in The Sanctuary. Can they be booked before the cruise? What is the cost to rent for the week? I couldn’t find this information on the Princess website so if it is there, could someone please post a link? Thank you!

Please elaborate on what accessibility features you require. Transporting power wheelchairs and non-collapsible scooters are most problematic.Technically, at least companies offering shuttles are required under the ADA. Most don’t comply.

I am in a rigid frame, manual wheelchair. We typically cuise out of Ft Lauderdale where I am accustomed to accessible taxis that I simply roll up into the back of. Unfortunately there are no cruises out of Ft Lauderdale when we want to go, so I am looking at other options.

  5. Retreat cabana availabilty is a top prority for us when searching for cruises. I am a full time wheelchair user and the cabanas work great for us. We always know we have a place to sit and relax together, whether we want shade or sun. The cabana attendants always take great care of us.

The majority of excursions are not wheelchair accessible, so our "excursion money" is spent on a cabana. Do you know how difficult it can be to find an accessible bathroom in the Caribbean? We do generally take warm weather cruises, so the cabanas are useable most of the time. We did have one cruise that was very windy and rainy, making the cabana unuseable for a couple of days. But we have also had some very enjoyable memories of sitting in our cabana during a Caribbean downpour.

I guess my point is, the cabanas are great for us and we will spend the money for one every chance we get.

@510pickerI'm sorry I don't have any information about accessible taxis in Boston, but I'm hoping you can help me.  Who do you use for wheelchair accessible taxis/transfers in Fort Lauderdale?

You can get an accessible taxi from the taxi stand, which is just outside the baggage claim area. You may have to wait a few minutes, but they will come. Same thing when you get off the ship, except it's a police officer that will call the accessible taxi for you.
