We are sailing in a suite on our upcoming Sun cruise this November and I too noticed that the edocs only list the cabin number and show no indication of being in a suite. I would assume that the people in the suite check in area have a list of guests names who are in the suites. We did receive the priority luggage tags in the mail the other day so perhaps those can be used to indicate you are traveling in a suite.

While I sympathize with your plight, I don't think it's reasonable to dispute the charges with the credit card company, because you had to have agreed to terms including a change of itinerary due to an act of God (hurricane) the cruise has no control over. They had no choice, it's not their fault, and you accepted the stipulation. It's also not the cruise ships fault you don't like Jamaica. There is no way they were going to please everyone with their itinerary change. Like others have said, get insurance next time, and this time see if the Captain can marry you on the ship or there is some port (including embarkation port) that will work for you. Then you can make the Jamaica port day a "sea day" for you and stay on the ship.
It is the cruise ships fault for going to a country whose people openly discriminates against, punishes with jail time and in some cases murder people just because of their sexuality. It's a little more then just not liking Jamaica when it comes to the LGBT community. How would you feel about visiting a country that you know your are not welcome in? For those of you interested, I have attached a link to an article about Jamaica and its stance on homosexuality.

Why is there no roll call on here for this holiday cruise?
There is a very active roll call on the roll call boards for the November 28th cruise.

We received notification from NCL that St.Thomas, St.Marteen and Dominica are being replaced with St.Kitts, St.Lucia and Antigua. We are very pleased with the new itinerary.
-
Le Bistro for sure, we usually eat here several times during a cruise.
-
We have a cruise at the end of November with 5 ports and only 34 excursions are currently available to book.
-
The price of our room dropped by $300 after final payment and I was able to get a $100 obc.
-
Why would you not fly into Marco Polo? I see several flights from BCN to VCE that would have you on the ground in the 12:30pm time frame.

I'm doing the 1/6/2019 sailing on the Dawn out of San Juan. Not sure if others have embarkation at 9pm, but if they do, what time is check-in? Is it similar to the 4pm embarkations in Miami where you can get to the port around 11 and be on the boat around 12?
We are sailing the same itinerary as you but on 1/27/19. We have never sailed out of San Juan but we did have a embarkation time of 9 pm in Venice last year and we were onboard the ship by 12pm.

My mother in law spent several thousand dollars at one of the tanzanite internationals in the Caribbean. They opened a bottle of champagne and kept it coming and kept bringing out different pieces of jewelry that they were giving her "amazing deals on". Well once back in the USA she took her new jewelry to a jeweler to have it appraised, well it turns out the jewelry is only worth a fraction of what she paid for it. All of these high end stones were set in sterling silver not white gold as she was led to believe.

We docked in Dubrovnik & Mykonos last time. We are doing this cruise again next Thursday, once we get back I will let you know if we dock or tender at any of the ports.

Perhaps because it is in Europe now? I got an upsell on my March cruise on the Spirit 17 days out.
I am not exactly sure what the reasoning is, we got an upsell to the owners suite about 3 weeks prior to our sailing on our European cruise aboard the Jade.
-
It seems most of the upsells are happening on the larger ships. We are sailing on the Spirit in 10 days and there are still 7 suites available and upsells have not started for our sailing.
-
Those who can book Teppanyaki on-line, was it the Spirit?
I highly doubt it. It was not bookable for the nine months before my cruise. I did get to go since I was in a suite and got first dibs, but otherwise it would of been nearly impossible.
BTW, my local place is much better in my humble opinion. I wasn't impressed.
I'm sailing on the Spirit in 2 weeks and was able to book Teppanyaki online at the 90 day mark, so those who are saying that it can not be booked online are wrong.
-
Interestingly for our May 15th Breakaway Cruise, they decided to drop fares significantly for new entrant customers and filled upper end rooms this way, and upsells for us who booked for 2x as much last year are nonexistent. We're pretty bummed. Was hoping this was the trip to try Haven.

No upsells are currently being offered on our Spirit cruise on May 19th either. The suites are currently priced in the 9k range so they have dropped by about $1500 since final payment. There are 8 suites still available on our sailing so I would think upsells would start soon.
-
I have been offered an upsell from a Balcony room into a Haven Front Facing Penthouse. Of course for a significant price.
If I choose to accept, do I keep my current promo items, or do I get all 4 promo items for a Haven suite. Should my gratuities for the beverage package and for the dining package be refunded, as they are not charged to Haven guests?
I had prepaid my regular gratuities, and also taken travel insurance. Would these things also be impacted.
From what I am told , they simply want $1600, but I keep my current stuff.
Is this how it is supposed to work?
You will keep your current promo's.
Mind if I ask what ship and sail date?

I had no problem booking Teppanyaki for 4 people on our upcoming Spirit cruise, keep checking to see if any other time slots open up. We didn't make our reservations until the 75 day mark.

We have private tours booked in most of the ports with folks from our roll call. one thing we have to find are grocery stores. We love to check out grocery stores in foreign countries!
Be sure to check out La Boqueria in Barcelona. It is a large market that has every type of fresh seafood, meat, fruit ect that you can imagine. The fresh seafood displays are amazing. Like everyone else has mentioned be vigilant. And most important of all HAVE FUN! We board the Spirit when you disembark in Venice, can not wait for this trip!!
-
We are 26 days out and they have not started upsells on our sailing yet. Looks like there are 7 empty suites on our sailing right now.
-
Do they only assign boarding times on the larger ships? Im looking at my Edocs and do not see any specific boarding time. All I see is that boarding begins at 12pm.
-
We did a 10 day Australia cruise with Royal Caribbean a few years back and spent a week in New Zealand prior to the cruise. What kind of information are you looking for?
-
If you are before final payment you can call and request the new pricing. The price of our room for our upcoming cruise dropped by $1,300. I knew if I cancelled and rebooked I would lose the two promotions I got when I originally booked. So I called in and "upgraded" to a higher balcony category. Since the higher category was also about $1,300 less then what we originally paid NCL refunded the $1,300 to the credit card I paid the balance off with. I was able to keep my original promotions and got the lower price.

When we received a upsell call I asked if it would be possible for her to call the other couple we were sailing with after she was done with us. As soon as I hung up she called the other couple and upsold them to the other owners suite.
Itinerary Change. Am I being reasonable?

It has nothing to do with pleasing any particular group of people, we are talking about human rights. Jamaica is not a safe place for the LGBT community and NCL does have a duty to look out for the safety of its passengers.
