  1. The only thing I could think of is to spell out your email address. For example: megabear2 at outlook dot com Unfortunately there is no messaging facility on CC
  2. Hi Sue This may have already happened with the hospital but if not you can request a meeting with your Dad’s MDT (multi-disciplinary team) to discuss his discharge and his and your Mum’s care needs on discharge. The MDT should include a medical social worker and someone from the safeguarding team and insist that a care package assessment is carried out before any discharge is agreed (this will normally be done by OT). You might want to demand that they document that you consider it to be an unsafe discharge if they won’t agree. There’s a responsibility for them to consider your Mum’s needs as part of your Dad’s discharge. If you need any more information I’m happy to help 🙂
  3. Thank you for your good wishes ❤️. Not the easiest time and the days leading up to her passing were quite traumatic as she refused any medical intervention initially and as both me and my husband work for the NHS it was quite distressing to deal with. Thankfully she did eventually go into hospital and her passing was pain free and dignified which was all I wanted for her.
  4. As a somewhat irregular contributor to the thread I’d be sad to see it disappear particularly when it isn’t the general consensus but just the opinion of one or two ‘individuals’ who seem to voice the same opinion every few months or so. If people didn’t want the thread they wouldn’t post and it would naturally disappear into the ether. So what are things like where I am? Well my daughter graduated and secured her first job within a week of graduating, we’re coming to the end of a 6 month full house renovation and was looking forward to relaxing a wee bit but sadly my Mum had other ideas and passed away just over a week ago so I’m in the process of dealing with her estate and making arrangements whilst somehow trying to find the space to process what’s happened.
  5. So pleased to hear that she’s well enough to come back to the UK. I hope her improvement continues.
  6. I can’t begin to imagine how I’d feel in your position and having read the thread on the Princess board I’m furious on your behalf. Princess have completely dropped the ball on this and should hang their heads in shame. Really hoping for a positive outcome for your Aunt x
  7. The OP said that option wasn’t available in the email they received.
  8. Of course there are those students for whom a laptop in lectures is vital such as my daughter who is dyslexic and has all manner of special software available to her just so she has the same learning opportunities as the other students. Thankfully her university and lecturers have been incredibly supportive and fingers crossed we'll be attending her graduation later in the summer.
