  1. We have never used EZ Air but have booked a cruise out of Southampton in late 2019. I have been told that EZ Air is a good way to go for international flights - a better deal than for local flights. Is this the consensus here? It's obviously too early to book air at this point but we need to figure out what we are doing as, up until now, we have only done cruises that leave from the US. All but one have left from the west coast. We are utterly clueless at this point.

I book my cruises far out also. I look at the airfare for same cruise in 2018. I check both EZair and directly with the airline. I get an idea of the airfare cost. Once the air window opens up (~330 days from the end of your cruise) You should know of you are getting a deal :):)

I also do this with award tickets...I check to see the number of miles when they are first released so when my date comes around I know how many miles I need.

For our first trip to Europe, I got an American Airlines credit card. It got us enough miles to fly to Europe and then Delta credit card miles got us home.

  2. I booked my flight for Oct. 26 from PBI to Quebec, my daughter booked from FLL. Is there a way to check flights on EZ air without having to go into my booking as I`m afraid to lose what I have now.

    1. You can choose the dates for the cruise you are sailing on and then choose the tab for flight quote.

    or

    2. you can modify your current booking to shop. Nothing is changed until you save the changes.

I always get nervous that I will cancel my flight so I usually choose option 1

  3. What can I expect to pay to get to Trunk Bay from the cruise port, for two people, round-trip?

    $10 for taxi ($20 for 2 ) to ferry

$8.15 ferry to St. John ($16.30 for two)

$6 Taxi to Trunk Bay ($12 for two)

Trunk Bay currently free ($10 for two if there is a charge)

$6 Trunk Bay to Ferry ($12 for two)

$8.15 Ferry to Red Hook (16.30 for two)

$10 taxi back to port ($20 for two)

so $106 if they charge for Trunk Bay and $86 if they do not charge :)

  4. I was actually referring to Premium Air being more for international flights as it relates to the EZAir category. I know that it exists in general.

I got a good fare for Chicago to LAX. Now I'm just hoping that there's still some Economy Plus availability when the flights are finally ticketed 45 days ahead of departure.

You can call Princess after final payment to request your flights get ticketed. You do not need to wait for Princess to ticket them.

I just did it at 85 days...

  5. Air Canada and Westjet ( Canadian Carriers) don't allow upgrades.

Air Canada allows you to bid on upgrades.

Correct, some airlines do not allow upgrades from the main cabin, no matter how you buy the tickets.

I just had my EZair flights ticketed so I could upgrade to the bulkhead on a domestic flight with American. (Main Cabin Extra Seats)

  6. On the other hand, if you want your flights ticketed at the time you make the final payment, Princess has a form you can request. Complete it, send to Princess, and your flights will be ticketed before that 45-day window.

But, you can go ahead and pay and ticket your flights, if you want.

Yes, once Princess received the form back requesting you ticket the air.

I learned this week that the form no longer needs to be filled out. You just need to call after final payment and request the air to be ticketed.

I faxed my request form on Monday no tickets on Thursday so I called to check on it when I was told no longer need to complete the form.

  7. We did the DIY for the first time. I preciously done explore on your own through the cruise line. It was very easy and we felt safe. We got a taxi and the end of the shops. We had to wait until our open air taxi was full. We then made a couple of stops before we got to Red Hook. $10 pp There was plenty of people there. The ferry ride is shorter than going from the cruise ship $8.15 pp.There is a shop right off the ferry to rent snorkle equipment $10. We got our lunch from the Deli at Mongoose Junction to eat at the beach ~ $12 sandwich. Caught another open air taxi $6 pp. to Trunk Bay (free right now).
