  1. Thank you. So, it seems from the collective wisdom of Cruise Critic, that I should be able to drop my husband from the reservation and keep the same cabin. I wonder why I am hearing crickets from my travel agent if it is so easy! Thanks to everyone for your input.
  2. Thanks to everyone for the helpful replies. I have downloaded the Guest Special Needs form and will submit it.
  3. Hi: My travel agent is being very slow to respond, so I am hoping the veterans of Celebrity and Cruise Critic can help me with a predicament. I have two concierge cabins booked on the Celebrity Summit departing Dec. 27, 2022. These cabins were booked in early April, 2022. One cabin is a 3-person handicapped cabin and was meant for my husband, my 90 year old mother and yours truly. The other cabin is for our children, 27-year old twins. My husband will most likely be unable to travel, so my question is whether we can keep the 3-person handicapped cabin if only 2 people travel. My mother definitely needs a handicapped cabin and at this time, there do not seem to be any 2-person handicapped cabins available. We have an aft balcony and I love the location and would even be willing to pay for the third person (who probably won't travel) so that we can keep this cabin. My question is whether this is allowed or should I be looking for another person to travel with us? Final payment is due next month, so I want to know what Celebrity will allow. We booked under a special where tips, wifi, and the premium beverage package are included and there is $100/person onboard credit, if that makes a difference. My promotions are: 25PCTSAVING NRD, ELEV FREE NRD Thank you for any insight.
  4. I enjoy your reviews and your blog for the destination information, even though I last sailed on Carnival in 2013 and have no immediate plans to sail Carnival again. Loved all the NYC and New Orleans information you have previously provided in your reviews. I just wonder why you don't venture out to other cruise lines. Nothing about the Magic seems appealing from your trip report and the food looks pretty bad. You are obviously well traveled, just wondered why you don't try other cruise lines?
  5. How do we request the assistance at the port? I am booking a wheelchair for my 90 year old mother from Special Needs at Sea. This will be waiting in our cabin, but she will need assistance getting off and on the ship. Can we keep the wheelchair we get to board until we get to the cabin? We are booked concierge, so planned on having lunch in the MDR upon arrival. I'm not sure how early the cabins are available. Thank you.
  6. That sounds perfect! We love a good fruit and cheese plate, so we will definitely be making that request! Thank you!
  7. yes, those drinks were available. It seemed the main difference is in the wines and the types of liquor used. Higher shelf liquor is used on the premium package. As it turned out, we were able to upgrade to premium once on board. It was an extra $20/day plus tip for $69/person for the 3 nights. Definitely worth it for 3 nights, but I'm not sure I'd do it for a longer cruise. The better wines and liquors were not available at all bars, so we learned where to go to get our preferences. The wine bar outside of the Butcher Cut Steak House had the better wines. Happy cruising. We loved every minute of our time on Divina.
  8. Is this the concierge class lunch on embarkation day? Thank you.
  9. We are booked on Celebrity Summit in December on Concierge class. In one cabin will be my husband, me, and my 90 year old mother and in another cabin are my 27 year old twins. What are the perks of concierge class? I believe there is lunch in a MDR on embarkation day, which will be good for my mom. She uses a walker at home, but we are going to rent a wheelchair for the cruise. Any other perks worth noting? Thank you.
  10. Hi: What are people's experiences with getting a table for 2 in the MDR for dinner? Our travel agent requested it for us, but of course, it's not guaranteed. We booked the Fantastica package for a 3-night cruise on Divina departing Sept. 1. Our last cruise was on NCL, so we never had to worry about sharing a table. Is there a way to e-mail the maitre'd ahead of time? Thank you!
  11. Thanks for the suggestions. Using the advice of @Georgia_Peaches, I was able to make it work. However, I had to call MSC to have them e-mail me my cruise documents. Thanks again.
  12. Hi: I have our cruise confirmation and booking no. We have paid for the cruise in full, however when I go to the Manage Booking part of the MSC website, it only gives me options to purchase excursions or dining, bottles of wine, etc. We sail on Sept. 1 on the Divina. Shouldn't we be able to access online check in now? Thank you.
  13. @77red96Thank you so much. You make me feel much better. We have never cruised MSC before, so it's great to hear that you had a good time and were happy with the basic drinks. package.
  14. Thanks for the responses. I called MSC and the rep told me it is the drinks package where any drink $9 and under is covered. Because we are on the 3-day cruise, there is NO option to upgrade to a premium package before the cruise. I don't understand why MSC won't take our money to upgrade, but that's what I was told. We are giving it a try on Sept. 1. Have never sailed MSC and prefer NCL, but this fit our dates. For 3 nights, how bad can it be, lol?
  15. The MSC website terms and conditions is very lacking in information regarding the free drinks and Wi-Fi promotion. I assume this is the basic drinks package, correct? If we purchase this, can we upgrade to a premium package? I’m trying to decide if it’s better to book under this offer or the free balcony upgrade offer. Looking at a 3 night cruise on Divina from Port Canaveral. Thank you.
