  1. Hello Fellow cruisers !

I like the title «Mal de Mer» and I can assure you that I totally agree with the majority of you.

I like ships that are looking like ships. No megapark for me.

Just here (on HA) to discover a new side of the World !

New inhabitants, new cities, new feelings, etc.

Cruising on the Koningsdam next november.

  2. Whether we want it or not, Veendam is an old ship (1996). Technology change since then.

Just ask the navigation deck crew about your concern. Less intuitive, less user-friendly...

    BTW : Dont Panic !!!

Holland America knows how to keep the real feel nautical theme around your entire Voyage !! And it's Safe and Secured !

Holacanada on the Koningsdam next november.

  3. Hi fellow cruisers !

Happy Canada Day to come !

Ask for a "poutine" a special Quebec dish.

I remember while on Veendam depart from Quebec City to Boston there was a "Poutine shack" by the Lido pool.

Onboard the Koningsdam in nine days.

  4. Hello Sprockie !

You could have the good fortune to taste our verrrrry good Poutine* when you visit Quebec City.

I remember tasting it on the Veendam (Lido pool deck as a station like) when we left Quebec City to Boston few years ago.

Set to sail in six days

  5. 1. Is the Lido pool roof generally closed in cooler weather, pool heated etc?

The month of May can be very cold in the Saint Lawrence River (mean temp about 6 degree Celsius). In another life, I worked on a tourist catamaran (whale watching) and we had snow in June ! The roof of the Lido will be closed most of the time.

    2. Has anyone parked at the Port of Montreal lately? We're looking to park there for the week.

The port of Montreal extends for several kilometers. What parking are you talking about exactly?

    3. Is the best side port or stern for viewing - and can you see much land when travelling from port to port? I have on hold a port side cabin, which will be wonderful while cruising to Quebec City, but wondered if I'd be looking at plain ocean once we go around the Gaspe Penninsula.

For the Gaspe peninsula the action tend to be on the port side.

  6. Hi fellow cruisers !

Instead of highjacking another thread bellow, I would like to know if someone know the hotel choice for HA in Rome. Formerly this was the Savoy. Is it the same hotel for spring 2018 ? And what about the experience ? Is this a large group ? Did someone can tell me more about this kind/that’s look like opportunity ?
