Shot in Venice harbour, we saw all the captains of the fleet boarding the ship from a vaporretto. It was a very well done auto promotion.

I've also had the opportunity to cruise NA on her second journey from Venice and back travelling by Turkey and Greece (14 days).

HI fellow cruisers,

I am surprised and disappointed for an email that I received from HA.

They had told me an upgrade as it was only a upsell.

A wrong word (upgrade instead upsell) but it made me loose a lots of minutes on the phone with an attendant in HA HQ.

In fact they asked me to add more in 1500 dollars if I want a NS !

Is there any UPSELL offer by HA anymore ??!

When I left Istanbul after my NA cruise in summer 2010, there was another terrorist act who blow up the same place where I took a cup of coffee two week before. :eek:

So sad bc Istanbul is really a nice city to visit (Bazaar, inside water cistern [Medusa], etc.)

For Quebeceurs like me, Poutine is one of our regional plates that we love the most.

The cheese curds MUST be fresh/day made and you have to pour an excellent beef gravy on it before consuming !

No Parmesan for sure !

In Quebec city the best poutine you can find is in Ashton. (Some franchises inside the city walls like Grande Allée or near the Hotel-Dieu hospital).

If I remember correctly, there was no free shuttle offered by HAL to go to Bankok. Taxi drivers waiting for us with a beautiful $mile. Almost fifty dollars CDN IN and then add OUT back to the ship !

Also in Greece in Piraeus > Athens Plaka or Acropolis — no free transfer and the first subway station is quite far reached from the ship.

At least a half hour walk. :(

I travel to Montreal a lot for work. A favourite hotel of mine is the Alt, Griffentown. It is only a few blocks from Old Montreal and probably a 5 minute cab ride to the pier. It's new, modern and usually a lot less $ than the other hotels in Montreal. Here is a link to their website.
