  1. Hi 😀 We had no problem with cabs in BA but we may have just been lucky. Uber or similar is certainly an alternative. Either way I wouldn't walk from the Cruise Port to Recoleta 🙂
  2. You answered a question earlier about walking to Recoleta from the ship. I would say it's about an hour walking from the Cruise Port to the cemetery. It's a hot walk. Highly recommend a cab. Your current location.... passed a whole load of fishing vessels.
  3. Wow!!! How amazing 😃 This guy was nestled in the bumper as we were pulling up to tie up. Here's the confrontation on the bulbous bow.
  4. Yes! I witnessed a standoff between a huge male and the group that was laying peacefully there! He was very loud and chased most of them off!!
  5. Wow. Just arriving into Puerto Madryn. Keep an eye out for seals on the bulbous bow when she's berthed and along the very long pier.
  6. We also missed Punta del Este on the Christmas cruise. Weather related. No alternate offered. Current location.
  7. Here you are And a satellite view with all local vessels!
  8. I noticed you hadn't left on time. Pouring with rain here..... would trade with you any day! 😃
  9. Which terminal are you at Dee? Doesn’t look like Quinquela Martin Cruise Terminal...... much confusion for the passengers boarding tomorrow.....
  10. Here's where she is now. Don't know if this is where you bag drop.
  11. Yayy!!! I am so jealous. I would do that itinerary multiple times!
  12. Am so excited for you! Will be following along. Would you like occasional Oosterdam location maps posted?
  13. Hi, Not something we actually considered asking, not being aware of when he would be there himself. My postcards that were posted in Ushuaia New Years Eve arrived this week!
  14. Pics taken of Oosterdam from Palmer Station, Antarctica, courtesy of Graham Ayres, our expedition leader.
  15. Definitely go early. They call by card number.... you get your number as you drop off your bags. At the terminal there is plenty of seating. It was a bit of a scrum at bag drop and after being called we had quite a long line to wait in before reaching the desk. You're in for a fabulous cruise.
  16. Hi Bill, I understand there's been some debate on the current situation at Buenos Aires following the storm that broke after we embarked. Have you looked at the Ports of Call board for the current situation? We dropped off baggage at the terminal, checked in there then headed by bus to board. In your paperwork there should be specific directions. If I find anything out I'll post back here.
  17. Thanks Julia. I have family there 😀
  18. That's disgraceful. I just heard on the news about new colonies of emperor penguins being discovered in Antarctica. It sounded exciting so I googled the story. It's actually not a happy event. Article here
  19. Hi. We'll need a van transfer from SAN to Carlsbad. Other than SuperShuttle are there other companies? Thanks.
  20. Have a fabulous day. I can see the first guest tender already heading to port. Sadly the port webcam isn't working.
  21. I am ridiculously excited for you. First 'guest' tender on its way Have a fabulous day. Can't wait to hear all about it. I have chores to run.
  22. The first tender, carrying shoreside crew, is on its way! Most of the route to Volunteer Point is off road. Such a ride!! The port webcams aren't working 😭
  23. She's at anchor and tenders are in the water. The route to Volunteer Point Estancia is the farm where Nyree lives. You may get to see it from the Land Rover on your left hand side. Ask your driver to point it out x
