  1. If you just need chair and umbrella rental there is no need for a beach club. Palmanova is a nice beach closer to Palma than Magaluf where Nikki is located. Beach clubs sell expensive "exclusivity"for people who are willing to pay for it. Nothing is happening there in the daytime but there are some scheduled theme parties during the season. Beach is the same.

  2. There no fixed price depends how early you buy. If you follow advice in previous costs minimum price is 39€ pp and up from there if ticket is purchased later. Price can be as high as 159€ pp. Link that I provided (sncf) is the source, cheapest as I know and safe. Bought there numerous times no issues.

  3. Wouldn't call "must" but we liked these two mid-range restaurants belonging to same company, La Polpa and Balthazar. Both located in Eixample district. As far as Cervicheria Catalana is concerned I think it's over promoted and therefore hard to get in. Last time I was there wait was close to 1 hr and menu is nothing special.

  4. IMHO they are only worth buying if a customer uses the majority of the attractions discounts. This url links to pdfs of all inclusions for different cards https://booking.touristactive.com/barcelona/barcelona-card-your-ticket-to-top-attractions-free-transportation-and-big-discounts-id7919/

Public transportation alone costs are not high enough to justify purchase. T10 (10 rides on subway) is 10.20€, can be shared and used on airport transfer on Renfe cercanias

  5. If you are not limited to time constraints there is really no need for multi day tours. Depending on timing can stay in major tourist cities (Madrid, Sevilla, Malaga, Valencia, Bilbao) for around 3 days or so, explore on your own or buy from multiple local offerings. Can check with getyourguide.com (similar to Viator). There are literally 100s of options for each place sorted by activity. To move between cities is easy by train or bus. Renfe is selling at 70% discount as soon as dates come on sale. Same true for bus. Vueling flies at reasonable prices in advance.

  6. Yes can take port bus (if it's around) to Draganess metro/Columbus monument 3€ o/w or 4€ pp RT https://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/faq/cruise-ship-terminals/shuttle-bus-barcelona-cruise-terminal.html, walk at least to Barcelonetta metro and then walk south to beach. Depending on number of people taxi option may be same cost or less. Walk all the way from cruise dock to beach is around 45 min to 1 hr.

  7. Barcelona City Beach is very close (by crows fly) to cruise dock but you can't walk there. Probably the easiest way is by short taxi ride. W hotel is where that beach starts (or ends). My educated guess that walk will be at least 1 hr.

In Palma most TIB 100 series (104 to 107) buses stop on Palma waterfront & go to Palmanova (about 30 min) which has a nice beach. Drivers take cash and give change. Fare in 3€ ballpark.

  8. Quote from Hilton website "Hilton Barcelona is located in the preferred shopping area for locals. The hotel is only two minutes’ walk from bus stops and the Maria Cristina Metro station, which conveniently connects with the city centre, Paseo de Gracia, La Pedrera, Sagrada Familia and the FC Barcelona Museum without transfers."

  9. Expedia and Priceline - yes. But one never knows true price so I always check on aggerator sites like Trivago and Hotelscombined. Booking.com charges in hotel currency. AirBNB is charging in currency of credit card with F/X markup. I have FX commission free Visa but still was charged 2.5% premium even after having long conversation with them.

As far as extra charges go that's specified in actual booking. I think I paid room tax in Barcelona separately.

  10. There no science in guessing airplane delays. Weather delays are unlikely in September except may be for thunderstorms. That was my case and it was 3 hrs. Also technical problems can happen but then AC is reasonably big to know how to deal with it.

The only facts are in estimating time from landing to ship. Clearing passport control, luggage collection and taxi to port should be between 1 and 2 hrs under normal circumstances. Last time I was in BCN it was day before Catalonia referendum, airport was practically deserted and we were out of there in 20 min.

  11. Can try Flor De Valencia near Silken Puerta Valencia hotel, about 30 min walk from Oceanographic. Check their website for menu. Paella is min for 2 people and may need to be pre-ordered check with the rest.

Also different paellas are included in 21€ fixed price deal but only M-F. Check on website under menu section.

  12. Hard to say without knowing exact address but my guess taxi should be cheaper. Expect to pay about 48€ for car service sedan and higher for van, taxi can be 30-35€ to Majestic on Passeig de Gracia as an example. Also taxi minivans are there but I think they cost slightly more than sedans. But all go on meter except 39€ flat fare to port.

  13. San Miguel is an interesting experience but rather pricey for what you get. Technically tapas are there but also other kinds of food. 10 min max from Royal Palace. Calle Cava Baja (may be 10 min from San Miguel) has lots of tapas bars. If you want cheap jamon lunch can go to second floor of Musee de Jamon on Puerta Del Sol (across from Apple store). They used to run "special" for couple of big plates of Jamon (can choose), jug of beer and bread for 11-12€. They got wine in that special but it's just the name ( mix of wine and soda).

  14. Adapter converts the plug and converter or transformer - the voltage. If your charger says 100-240V 50-60hz on the back then you need plug adapter. Most consumer electronics chargers (phone, laptop, tablet) are like that. If not then you need to find out the power output of the appliance and get transformer matching the output. In most cases it's cheaper to buy new one. Hairdryer that is not dual voltage will be a good example where new one is 10-15€.
