  1. To cruise port is 39€ fixed price, to City center probably slightly less on meter (depending on time of travel and exact address). Cheapest transfer is on Renfe train from T2, as little as 1€ pp if T10 ticket is bought for 10€ (also good for 10 rides on metro). Gracia station is quite central. Regular metro ticket is 4.50 if I am not mistaken.

  2. I was there on Oct 3 leaving Barcelona and going south to Valencia. Metro was working at 25% capacity in morning and evening, some taxis didn't and main highway to Valencia blocked for short time may be 20-30 min where demonstrators walked under police protection.

  3. In a nutshell there is choice between visiting old town area around city hall and Central market. Website has listings of interesting buildings and museums there. Look at historic center route. And modern part which is City of Science, Oceanarium, etc. Easily can do both in a day.

  4. Port is not too far from Aqua mall which is open on Sunday. It has El Corte Ingles which open Sundays from noon. This area is home to famous architecture like Oceanarium and City of Arts. Fallas museum is open 10-2 has winner from previous parades.

Beach is not far can try Panorama rest near marina.

  5. Last thing I read it's that Guardia Civil will fill the void created by Eulen which has an agreement with Govt of Catalonia to maintain 90% of service. But agreement and reality are different matters. Spain is on high alert to begin with so probably government will play it's part to ensure safety in El Prat.

  6. I think it's a poor quote. Assuming that you can use 2 large taxis your costs should be in ballpark of 200€ for all rides (I count 80 for airport to Port and 40 hotel to Port). You are quoted 264£ which is around 300€

  7. Actually buses in Spain are very good. Bus goes from BCN airport non stop to bus terminal slightly north of Valencia center from there most destinations are quick by taxi. There is 10:30am, 1pm and 7:30pm. For train one needs to go to City and catch it from there. Train and bus take approximately same time close to 4 hrs. Also one way car rental should be cheaper and route is pretty straight forward mainly on highway

  8. Would like a recommendation for a private car service who could take 2 adults and luggage from Barcelona to Valencia. Anyone who has used a service would like the company name and if available on line to book.

If you don't mind the cost can try kiwitaxi.com starts at 431€ and up. Most Alsa buses originating in BCN stop in El Prat airport to pick up passengers and then go non stop to Valencia from there. If interested book on Alsa.es

  9. Prices change all the time. Now AC had promos (15% cyber Monday) only up to June. So August will probably go on sale later on may be in New Year. AC proper flies 787 which I took last year; it had good entertainment system but very small space between seats. Rouge that goes to BCN uses 767 ER with much better seat pitch but no entertainment system. Movies are delivered on Air Canada app on Android/IOS device. iPad can be rented for $10.
