Definitely. If someone has to lug two 12 packs of soda, 4 bottles of wine for several hours it might deter them

Thank you everyone for your input.  It has actually made me feel better. On our up coming cruise in November to Hawaii my DH will be the one toting our Diet Cherry Pepper in cans (of course).   We hate the diet drinks from the ship.

Remember you can each take your allotment of canned soda aboard.

Yes,  Thank you!   The hardest part is adding it to our carry ons,  or adding another carry on soft tote.  Still wondering why we cannot give it to the porters, in boxes with our checked luggage. Just like we did in the past. Maybe Princess thinks it’s too much trouble to scan & check to see what’s in the box.  Always wondered why my box of soda was never opened.

Ronnieslady, can you tell us where on the Princess website can I find the policy for bringing canned drinks on board?  Thanks.

A month or two ago Princess changed the Passage Contract about limiting the amount of canned soft drinks we are allowed to take on board.  Read about it here on CC. And we must only walk on with them ourselves.   No more giving them to the porters with your luggage to bring up to our cabins. And no bottle water @ all.
i was hoping it was actually going to start next year.  That’s why I was asking anyone thats onboard now or been onboard, what’s going on about it. ???

  4. Do we take our 12 pack of canned soft drinks up to the table also. ???  Or does security scanner people just check them out.??? We are taking a 15 dayer & don’t drink alcohol , so we don’t think it’s worth getting the Plus package. Especially since we get the coffee package.

Sitting on ginormous balcony awaiting sailaway. And DH’s suitcase. Mine arrived two hours ago and his has yet to make an appearance.

I know folks on the last cruise mentioned issues with the mini bar but ours was here when we first got in the room. Except it was different. They have no scotch or whiskey in the small bottles so they gave us 4 Courvosiers. Instead of 2 small water bottles we got one big one. And instead of 2 Perrier we got a large Pellegrino. Rest was the same.  Trying to figure what are swap will be but will deal with that tomorrow.

Did you see anyone bring on their own canned drinks.  What’s happening about that??  Can you still give it to the porter to bring up with your luggage ??

  6.   I just asked this also on the August sailing, but I thought I would ask any of you that were on the 1st. sailing.

On the morning of embarkation,  did anyone give the porters besides their luggage any sodas, or water to bring up to theircabins with their luggage???  Like maybe in boxes or all taped up with luggage tags on them.   Or are they really enforcing the rule that we must walk on with our own soda????  I know about the limit. Only a 12 pack each .
Is this also being enforced.?? And I expect it to , of course go thru the security scanner

Thanks so much for answering all our silly questions.  What a huge undertaking this was for all who helped , especially the OP. I read all, except the most recent posts. It has really been appreciated & we all learned an enormous amount from those nice sailors, who gave up their time to help us all & in such a positive way. What a blessing you all have been.

  8. “MarinerBoy” never responded to my comment about how he was going on a 12 day Princess cruise to Hawaii in December.  I don’t seem to see that itinerary. Maybe the truth is being ,  what I  call “stretched “

Then again maybe he’s confused 🤔

Casinos reward you for "churned money" or playthrough. I am sure you heard of credit card "churners" right?

Well what is less talked about are the "casino churners", a small but knowledgeable group of people who are using MS "manufactured spending" techniques in the casino to generate high play through to qualify for points.

I myself am one of these people, I am fortunate to be able to be a prime member at the YourComped club and have been sailing free around the world on major cruise lines all compliments of the Casino.

Matter of fact, I am going on a 12 day Hawaii cruise in December with Princess, all paid for by Princess. The casino doesn't discriminate between legitimate players and those who churn play through dollars, they aren't that sophisticated, so my free bonuses and comps keep coming.

I consider my self one of the cleverest and most successful cruisers on the planet thank you very much.

Are you sure that’s on Princess???

WIth the app the passenger can pick his/her boarding time. If Princess is sending out an E-mail with your boarding time, Princess is picking the time, not the passenger.

You are right!!!    How can we get the boarding time we want, if the app isn’t working????  How will we know when the app is working.  Please don’t tell me we have to check every day.  Who’s going to pay us for all the work we are having to do with all this. I thought we were almost done with all of the Medallion crap.  Now it sounds like it hasn’t even started yet. I am really fired up now.  We should be getting a free cruise out of this for all this computer work, hold times, & stress.  Instead they took away  3 perks as a loyalty Thank You. We are also made to carry on our own preferred diet soft drinks , instead of checking them in.  Next do they want us to carry up all our own  food & toilet paper for 15 days .  Maybe donate some Tide laundry detergent, so they can afford to do the Elites laundry , if we even still have that perk. Guess we will go buy one of the small grocery carts to help get the 2 -12 packs up to our cabin along with our carry ons.  I could go on & on, but I’m done with it.

Princess had 14 months to create a fully functioning MedallionClass system & app. Now that they’re forcing us to do everything on it we cannot even sign in. I realize that techies work on their system on many weekends so that’s not a complete surprise. But for some people those issues didn’t begin this weekend. Since Thursday some of us have been able to see new options including Dine My Way on the MC app & the problems likely resulted in yesterday’s iOS app update.

It’s ridiculous to force us to use an incomplete app that doesn’t work as promised…very disappointing.

You can say that again!  This is ridiculous.
Is there a date this is supposed to work by (Medallion app. I mean ). ????? Are we all just jumping the gun on the Medallion app???  After all my work, on the App. , I decided to delete the app & start all over again.  Since it worked at 1st for a few minutes, then crashed & nothing.     I will not start all over again until I know it’s working.  Maybe this is just too much for the

    Tech guys 🤨

Azamara is often a little bit higher, category to category than Oceania, but on AZ drinks and gratuities are included and they are not on Oceania.

    Thanks

I am always on the lookout for bargain opportunities to try new lines, often lines I would not otherwise afford.  In November 2019 we were fortunate to find a bargain on Oceania Insignia, sister ship to Pacific Princess/ Azamara.  In July we jumped on the bargain prices on Crystal in the Bahamas.  Now I am working on a super bargain on Windstar Star Breeze, 15 days Puerto Caldera Costa Rica to

Papeete, Tahiti.  No port stops.  OV suite for $1499 pp.  The lowest two categories were booked up.  EM

Is Azamara & Oceania priced about the same???
