I had the exact same question. We are boarding the Rhapsody in Rome on Sunday two weeks from tomorrow. I did have some requests for the concierge.
If I don't get an email from him by next Sunday, should I go ahead and email him?
Yes, go ahead and email him especially if your requests and important. You will want him to have time to handle your requests and get back to you. You have nothing to lose, imho.

ANY ship to sail from New Orleans and preferably with an overnight then a daylight transit down the Mississippi to the Gulf. 2 vacations in one. Hope this can happen when Cuba opens to cruise ships from US, fwiw.
-
Just like tipping, opinions of any given Concierge is subjective. Just saying;)
-
LOVE LOVE LOVE sailing out of New Orleans. I really hope they return someday. Incidentally, I always found the prices out of Galveston to be lower and discounted more so than New Orleans. I vote for pulling out of Texas, and returning to New Orleans! And New Orleans is so much easier to get to than Galveston! LOL
Peter
I second that, lol! New Orleans is just such a magical city and we always felt like we were getting 2 vacations in 1 when we sailed from there. Hopefully when Cuba opens this may be a good port once again to just circumnavigate that island and it's possible ports??
Wonder if RCCI is rethinking sending more and another new ship to China today??? Stock market there taking a beating, just saying.....
-
Thank you -- living next to a major port that no longer has any RCI presence is frustrating, so when I see Florida residents bickering about which of the many RCI ships are in the many Florida ports, I find it hard to sympatize. Our RT airfare to Florida is almost equal to the cost of a cruise.
Exactly!!! We rarely can fly to FL less than $500 pp! We would gladly welcome and be grateful if MJ relocated to New Orleans which is only a 6 hour drive!

Link not working:confused:
Finally, I figured it out, lol.
Thanks so much for sharing, amazing!

UPDATE:
Alan del Fierro is currently on Enchantment in DL but moving to SL (CL) next week.
He is supposedly filling in for vacations. Hopefully, Alan will be moved back to Serenade where he belongs after that, imho.

We did the jeep tour with Patrick our second day. It was very rough. We were bouncing everywhere, it was all we could do to stay seated at times. My husband sat up front with the driver and his seat was not very secure. That being said, we had a great time. We went up and down hills that were very steep and really at times just ruts for the tires. We stopped several times to admire the views which were amazing. Our driver even played the uke and sang for us while we were at the top over looking the lagoon.
As far as the snorkeling tour I have read on here of people booking a year ahead. If I was travelling with 11 people I would contact them sooner rather than later as the outrigger only holds 12.
I don't think you will be disappointed in either tour. We LOVED them both.
Thank you so much for this valuable information! I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Cheers!
-
Quick question I hope someone can answer. How far in advance can you book one of the activities for Patrick's tour? 11 of us will be cruising together and would like to make sure we get to go at least on the 3/4 day tour. Anyone do the 4x4 portion with the other tour?
Thanks for any information!

That's not my undertanding. If they give you a reduced rate (lower than published fare on the website) upgrade, they don't give you the extra points.
We have always gotten the extra points, FWIW [emoji4]

I have 12246 booked as well and am hoping someone who has actually stayed in this room will verify this as I am not convinced that a shoreside Royal Caribbean person can be trusted to really know!
I meant to say written and VISUAL confirmation from officer currently ON the AN that took the pictures at my request, not a shoreside RCCL person, of the balconies. I just can't post photos here but take my word on it, 12246 has the full balcony and 12646 has the partial divider creating 2 separate areas,
-
If money changes hands you get the double points, it's an upsell NOT free upgrade (going to JS or higher).
-
Thank you all for such quick replies. :)
Sounds like it may just be easier to order Room Service coffee to be sent up daily, that's what we've always done & seems to work well for us as we are early risers & like to have a cup while getting ready.
I bring Starbucks VIAs and just use the kettle to heat up the water then have a wonderful cup of coffee before ever leaving the cabin. So easy and less mess. FWIW:)
-
I wish to know aswell as we are in 12246 this September. Surely the balcony will be the normal size of a GS balcony I hope anyway.
Just had written and verbal confirmation regarding these 2 new GS on AN:
The balcony size is the same (around 12 square meters), however #12646 balcony is divided with a partition making it look as 2 smaller balconies (suite # 12246 doesn't have a partition)
Hope this puts your mind at ease. 12246 is open whereas 12646 has partial partition creating 2 small balconies.

We have done 3 Alaska cruises in May and I would NOT bring alot of heavy clothes. One cruise the temperature rose to over 80 degrees F and we had all heavy warm clothes  The others were between 50-70F, slightly cooler at night and some sea days on the open water. We have since learned to dress in layers and put on or take off what we don't need. Plus, they sell all kinds of fleece vests, jackets, etc...if you really need something. Shopping opportunities are everywhere, lol...My DH now packs a least 1-2 pairs of shorts along with his other clothes. Ship will be warm also. Have a great time, enjoy!
-
No one that is on CC has been in one of these cabins, yet????
-
Would appreciate a photo of either of these GS for this newly configured balcony. Not sure if they incorporated the 2 D balconies into 1 large balcony or if divided into 2 separate balconies.
Thank you in advance for any info or pictures you might share.

We are on SR repo and there is both FREE WI-FI for Pinnacles plus breakfast in Chops for suites and Pinnacles. Having a wonderful time and best sail down the Mississippi in daylight!
-
Tell Marcia and Lisa HI...LOL
Peter
Call my cell, Peter!
-
We are so excited to hopefully sail the last part of Mississippi in daylight! We also think it's New Orleans way to tell RCCL they don't want SR or any ship to leave! Will be on balcony all day enjoying this with phone working as well as Internet! Win-win for us!

Capt Anders still on SR last week. Boarding soon, will let you know if he really got off today???
-
I don't think that royal wants to make the perks just fluff. I think they will be substantially great and the prices are all over the board so hard to tell if they will go up or not once the new perks are announced.
I certainly hope they won't be 'fluff'. I am tired of paying for simply increased square footage. FWIW, suite we booked last year for Jan, 2016 is now twice as much as we paid! Are they kidding, better be something really good to go along with these somewhat ridiculous prices! Our TA says she can get us better deals on Crystal!?!? Announcement of any changes should be made sooner than later, imho.

Would I be satisfied on Vision of the Seas? Our last three cruises were on allure, and adventure so I'm worried I'd not be thrilled with the size of vision and lack of things on vision
Simply put, NO. Unless you really, really want a significantly smaller ship, much less to do and much older ship. IMHO.
