1. Just for reference, this is why some of us here who have cruised in H6 penthouses on Breakaway/Getaway are disappointed. The extreme size of these balconies was, by far, the main selling point of these suites. In the photo there's a snacks/drinks setup for hosting some friends to see the sunset. It looks like this won't be possible on Escape :(

Breakaway room 9916 :D, we had it in Dec. and decorated the column with battery operated Christmas lights :D

Remember on the Breakaway not all aft facing suites have balconies this deep. Some of the aft facing decks have a quite shallow balcony.

2. As someone who has always rolled their eyes at the nickel and dime comments but never posted in response I gotta say, this does seem sh**y.

Lot of small upcharges being added very quickly and $7.95?? Really?? I understood the late night RS surcharge, but this is ridic. DSC rise, specialty grat added and now this?

On the other hand we do have 4 upcoming reservations with the Freestyle Choice promo, 2 with UBP and 2 with all 4 (UBP, UDP OBC and DSC). Our last 2 cruises we paid out of pocket for the UBP and the DSC so this is real money not coming out of our pocket. I will just not use room service or eat in specialties other than our 2 Plat dinners.

Do they realize people already felt nickel and dimed before all of this. The $.95/$2.95 increase we were fine with initially, now that is rubbing us wrong too. They are piling on. Waiting to see what next weeks increase will be.
3. When we did the breakaway we went to the Hd and complained that they did this every cruise and we never get to do the tour. We've been platinum for 6 cruises and had missed jewel, pearl, epic and spirit tours. So they invited to join for free the paid tour that was taking place later in the sailing and probably saw more than we would have on the platinum one

We actually brought this up to the cruise consultant our 2nd time on the Epic and he got us on the paid tour for free also. That's when we realized how more in depth the paid one is compared to the free Plat one.

I think NCL really over prices this (the paid one) and would be good publicity to price it cheaper and have more people take it. When you see all that goes on behind the scene, the scale of things and how clean everything is it is very impressive.

mking thanks for the updates, has been fun following your week :)

4. It is only for a short time there will be no replacement we were told.

Andrea I 100% believe you were told this but I don't buy it.

1 1/2 months is not short time and would they really not have 2 ships out of the city for Thanksgiving when they sky rocket the price and the ship still packs out?

We are booked on the last Gem cruise available for booking out of PR for our annual b'days cruise. We are really excited for this one.

Unfortunately I think Bliss is gonna live in NYC. We love the Breakaway but liked having the mix of the big ship and really big ship ;)

5. This does not include any of the other issues related to this ship, including way to many people, people fighting over chairs on the pool deck and at the buffet, lots of stress on board, no free deck chairs on the pool deck. We could never enjoy the pool deck on the sea days. Everyone we talked to onboard seemed to have issues with this ship and the stress they were under as well.

Nobody goes on the Epic anymore.

It's too crowded ;)
