  1. I would *hope* that if one requests a Strawberry Daiquiri or a Pina Colada, etc. they'd be served one.

    Harriet

When you look around the pool deck and see how many PCs and SDs are being served why would NCL not want to sell them? I remember in the behind the scenes tour seeing pallets and pallets of Colada and Daiquiri gallon mix containers.

  2. This has been beat to death on the other thread about this. Bottom line, those who normally stiff the staff want to use this as a new excuse to do the same. Those will never allow themselves to be convinced. Everyone else will continue to pay the DSC and tip the suite staff as appropriate.

    Exactly!

  3.

We have noticed a definite reduction in the number of drinks waiters over the years. On our first cruise in 2008 we were surrounded by drinks waiters - on our last 2 cruises I went to the bar to get our drinks as often as not :D.

Our first cruise after a long time away in 2008 we were so overrun by drink servers at the pool, asking every 30 seconds if we wanted a drink, we considered not cruising anymore. When NCL changed the system to give the servers "sections" and we were able to get to know them we thought it was a great improvement.

  4. Hi. I am highly allergic to cigarette smoke and we have booked the Breakaway and I am now reading how smoky the entire ship is! Is this really true

I'm not allergic to smoke but if I was I would definitely book a different vacation than Breakaway. The entire ship is smokey.

  5. I really hope that they hold back some cabanas to book aboard the ship as they aren't any left now :(

I have called the pre-cruise concierge to ask if there are any, may I have one? However, i hve not heard back.

As far as I know they do not hold back cabanas for booking on the ship.

  6. Small cabana's are numbered 11 to 2..5something.

11 being the first/closest to large cabanas and next to the bar but it's a kind of standalone. See pic taken from 12.

Cabana 11 is the best, closest to the restroom and the bar :D

    We have had it twice.

  7. Yes you can go to guest services and have it removed no questions asked. I saw a lot of tips on dinner tables when I sailed in Dec. so I think many people remove those auto tips and tip the people that actually serve them.

We leave our DSC same and always tip the people who actually serve us just like on land. This is a poor assumption.

  8. It would be nice to have 3 ships leaving out of ny perhaps Friday to Bermuda like the dawn does from Boston. As much as it would be nice to have a new mega ship like bliss in ny. The jewel class would be sorely missed.

At this time I think it unlikely to see 3 ships out of NYC but I could see 2 of the newest ones. We too like having the Jewel class and the BA class ships here for a change of pace.

  9. I asked this question on another thread, is the Bliss coming to NYC?

For Jan. 2017 all the traditional NCL winter ports are available for booking except NYC and all the ships are available except the Gem and the BA.

We are booked on the last Gem cruise available to book out of San Juan (Dec 2016). It's a great itinerary. We have eyeballed a similar cruise on Carnival out of San Juan for some time and are thrilled NCL is offering something similar.

Maybe the Gem will repo back to Boston for Bermuda after San Juan.
