  1. Well, I had a issue in Hawaii someone knocked off my A6000 with the kit lens in its waterproof case off a table while I was trying on a Wet suit and the lens broke. I of course have insurance and just received a check for replacement, while looking at B & H I saw the A6300 with kit lens for $1000 with the $300 lens replacement thats $700 for a new body and lens. My wife just booked Alaska cruise next fall so the big question is do I rent the Sony FE 70-200 f2.8 with 2.0 adapter, the FE 100-400 or go to the Tamy 150-600 with LA3. I follow Zackiedawg and seen his work with both and I don't know which way to go

  2. What I truly love about this site is besides Dave and Justin (Zakiedawg), is yall really care in answering our questions, I don't have alot of money so I try desperately to get only what I need and to use what I have to its full potential. Other sites just don't have time for me to explain what I wish to know. It is a plus of course I was using Sony when I joined so I can ask more detail questions.

  3. I saw somewhere someone is selling button extensions for the 6000/6300 to make it easier to find. It also comes with a larger eyepiece that really interests me. Can't help with video not there yet. Still trying to figure out portraits with off camera flash

  4. The thing is, most good SLRs are heavier for a reason... There are a lot of good interchangables out there (the sony A6x00s) are great except for one thing - no lenses longer than 300mm, there are lots in the lower range, but it does about 75 percent what my D500 does at 30 percent the size and weight).

The P900 is a decent point a shoot with insane lens distance, but not very small (and its very hard to stabilize at full extension). I actually considered it as a portable range piece but it violates my personal rule all my cameras must shoot RAW.

Actually the beauty of the Sony Mirrorless, is use of older lens like the ones the poster has, Sony just announced a native 70- 400 lens and with the crop factor brings it under 600mm. Win win in my book

  5. My wife bought me a early Dad's day gift with a Mekinon Underwater case for my Sony A6k. What tips does anyone have, besides to remember to enable my rear screen with brightness set on high. Should I shoot RAW with underwater WB? things like that. I will be using my kit lens I don't know if my manual 35mm prime will fit or if I should even consider it.

    Thanks

  6. Well I bit the bullet after the recommendations from my favorite Picture takerers, I will be using it for my two trips to Hawaii next year, continuing the photo project of a Senior and videotaping my son's junior rectal next spring. It was a Craig's special so I will hope for the best. The day here in Phoenix is pouring rain so I had to test it indoors, not the best. But the price was right and the seller seem genuine.

  7. There is a reason there a large Sony A6XXX posts here on this site, and the deals on the A6000 are smoking right now. You need to narrow down your choices to two or three and starting doing the research. There is always the possibility a member that is local to you will let you see and try out their rig.

  8. Dave as a novice photographer I have in the past try to learn something from various Photo sites, and this is the only one that truly helps all who wants to learn, I give thanks to you

Dave and the others who support me and others learn and take joy on what we shoot!!
