  1. I have no idea if retired people are eligible. To find out what sailings have a discount click the option when for police/ fire discounts before you select your room category and compare the prices... Or Get a travel agent to do the work for you.
  2. They do offer them. I've saved thousands using the police discount. That being said it isn't offered for every voyage.
  3. I can't wait to try this ship. Even if I didn't have a kid, I would still love this ship. I can't see how this ship won't be my favourite. If you don't like it-sail elsewhere. More room for my family.
  4. We got shakes from Ben and Jerry's once. We went back the next day and were told it was a mistake. I spoke to the loyalty ambassador who apologized for the confusion and said it was due to the franchise agreement they have with Ben and Jerry's.
  5. I can confirm that Capt James MacDonald is currently at the helm of the Liberty (at least this week).
  6. We get off the Liberty this Sunday. Our flight isn't until 5ish out of IAH. Any thoughts on what we can do to kill a few hours? 2 things to consider.. 1. My mom doesn't walk too well. 2. We'll have our luggage with us. TIA
  7. It's on in On Air. Not sure why anyone would wanna watch an NFC North game.. But, it's on.
  8. I believe her name is Katy. I've seen her around the ship but haven't been to any shows yet that she's hosted. I've had good cruise directors (Richard Spacey) and bad ones who bragged about themselves (Ken Rush) and had amazing trips on both, so I'm probably the wrong person to weigh in on a CD.
  9. Abide by your boarding time. Gone are the days when it was pretty good much first to arrive, first to board. If you dislike smoke you'll dislike the casino and frankly much of the Schooner bar. Viking Crown Lounge is now a fraction of the size from when I sailed on this type of ship last but I never saw anyone use it before and I don't see many people use it now.
  10. Beef tenderloin in the MDR. Ribeye at Chops. The short rib and risotto are tonight so I suspect those 2 will change things.
  11. There's a bit of a wear and tear, but that's to be expected. Overall the ship is in good condition. I've got an aft facing suite. In the one bedroom there's some vibration. I can't comment on supply chain issues because I haven't been told no to any thing I've asked for. There's no Kleenex in stateroom bathrooms - maybe that's why?
  12. Cafe Promenade is pretty good. I like some items. I dislike some items Internet is not good. Starlink is by being installed but isn't active yet.
  13. They sure do. Have Amit the concierge make your reservation. He's the most switched on concierge I've ever had.
  14. I'm on board LOS currently. My first time on a Freedom class ship in 12 years. My first time in a suite without the Royal Suite class. I'm happy to try and answer any questions you have.
  15. I was told it is because it is such a small venue and you may want to book it weeks or months before the Genie reaches out.
  16. If you want to ensure you get the time you want, book it and the genie will refund your payment. I've never had a problem with waiting until the genie contacted me. They made the reservation for my entire party, Star Class or not. One of the Genie's magical abilities is to find empty tables in full restaurants.
  17. I think you're better off having a room beneath Johnny Rocket's on a Quantum class ship than Voyager or Freedom. On Quantum class ships Johnny Rockets is an a la carte venue and didn't seem to have anywhere near the foot traffic it does on other ships- and there was certainly no singing and dancing.
  18. Hold on- I can use my diamond voucher to get a free milkshake from Ben and Jerry's????? This changes things.
  19. I've snagged several cruises with the law enforcement discount and not once have been asked to show my credentials.
  20. Get used to it. Streaming is the way of the future. It wasn't all that long ago the NFL required all of their playoff games to be on over-the-air TV. Now, ESPN has a slice of the playoff pie. One thing to consider is that the international broadcast rights are completely separate from the American rights. That is why you don't see the great commercials and get a completely different announcer crew if you happen to watch The Super Bowl on a ship than you would at home.
