  1. Still lurking here on our way to the airport! Hoping all the great weather and Drake Lakes aren't used up! Can't wait.... Thank you for adding to our excitement! Chris
  2. Looks like you're finishing up as we are starting! I feel like I know my way around the ship now! Thank you! Pray for fair winds, following seas and the Drake Lake for the Feb 18 crew! Chris
  3. All of these cruises having such great weather is really making me worry!! It can't last forever! Haha. Yes, we are aware of the change in itinerary. NCL sent out an email with the changes. My uneducated guess that it was a result of the passengers on the Jan 21st sailing being very upset about missing the Falklands for no apparent reason. Two other ships were in port that day so you would assume that it wasn't too terrible to tender. They changed our port date for Stanley and substantially increased our time in port there. I am wondering if that was a result of so many passengers being upset about the return tender difficulties. In addition to changing our port date in the Falklands they removed Paradise Island all together and now we will sail Elephant Island & Admiralty Bay on the same day. I'm not exactly sure why they did this as it resulted in us having an extra sea day after the Falklands...it could be the timing since we'll be spending more time in at Stanley. Of course we are disappointed. I plan to call NCL and lodge my complaint but we tend to not get too worked up about things we can't control. We also believe that we will still have an incredible journey. I do understand everyone being upset though and if we don't get into the Falklands which as you know is quite possible, I'm afraid of the backlash NCL will receive. Also, sometimes I think the cruise lines aren't up front with their passengers which causes more anger. I have seen this on multiple cruise lines. I don't think the passengers on any of these NCL impacted sailings have been given an honest explanation. Chris
  4. Thank you so much for all of the photos and information! We opted to do something other than Volunteer Point in Stanley...Your photos make me feel like I at least saw it through your lens! Getting so very excited! Chris
  5. Love port days but I love those relaxing Sea Days too! Great itinerary for that! Chris
  6. We must be about the same age....the same thing is happening to us! We never used to forget things! Hoping & praying I see some whales!! The binoculars are in the to be packed pile! Sounds like a great anniversary gift! We will be celebrating our 40th going through (hopefully) the Drake Passage! Thank you for the movie recommendation! It is hard to find a good movie these days! Chris
  7. Just incredible pictures!! Thank you so much for sharing! Where were you on the ship when you saw whales? From your balcony? I seem to have the worst luck seeing them...so trying to make a plan to find some on our 2/18 sailing! Thank you so much! Chris
  8. Can't wait! I've read that now they offer you the "wet" boat ride or the "dry" boat ride.... Either doing the "dry" or not at all! Really just want to see the best of the Falls! Thank you!
  9. Ok...Not that we're afraid of getting wet...we just really want to see the Falls not turn it into an amusement park ride! Thank you!
  10. Hello, We are on a different sailing but trying to find an answer. We are doing a pre-cruise tour to Iguazu Falls. There is a boat ride in our itinerary. Did you do one? Some of the comments I've read say that you will get soaking wet. If you did the boat ride is that accurate? Trying to decide if we need flip flops along with wearing our hiking shoes! Thanks, Chris
  11. Thank you for sharing! Loving following along! Chris Were you there the same time of year last time?
  12. Wow! Wonderful day in Stanley! Beautiful Kings & Gentoos! So enjoying your journey! Chris Oh and Thank you Flakie for answering my question! Do you think we need hiking shoes for Iguazu and Stanley? They take up so much room in the suitcase!
  13. Thank you! Makes sense! How is your day in the Falklands? Waves look like 7 ft....any trouble tendering? Chris
  14. Question for Ken...or anyone who knows... On Cruise mapper sometimes the Ship icon is a circle rather than the usual triangular shape. When it's a circle icon it won't show you it's path. Does anyone know what it means...why the difference? Thanks, Chris
  15. Thank you..."Cool Antarctica" is the web page I was referring to. It's great! I think I'll just print from there... For some reason I still have to have something I can hold in my hand! Chris
  16. Quick question Ken... Do you have a guide book for common wildlife in Antarctica? I found a really good web page but it's not printer friendly at all. Thanks, Chris
  17. Thank you! I was hoping that was the case! Very lucky that we got our cabin! We won't want to miss a thing so I know we'll be out on the balcony a lot! My husband just discovered rechargeable hand warmers! haha! So it looks like our hands will warm up fast between photos! I may highjack your incredible photos and just enjoy the scenery!😀 Chris
  18. My husband & I. Our 40th Anniversary is 2/25. We had booked a great anniversary trip to Israel & Egypt. Obviously had to cancel that! We had been talking about going to Antartica and I have wanted to go to Iguazu Falls forever...so my husband found the trip! We'll be sailing the Drake Passage on our Anniversary & dining at Le Bistro that night! We'll be on the Star sailing 2/18! We're doing Iguazu Falls beforehand. We're very excited! And I'm sure we'll be well be then...And hopefully have superpower immunity! Chris
  19. I'm so sorry you got sick after your vacation! We're just off of a Southern Caribbean on Symphony of the Seas. First my husband got really sick...cold, Covid or the flu...we're not testing anymore. Now I'm sick! Hoping it means our immunity will be very high for Antartica!!!🤞🙏☘️ Chris I know you are very Thankful you didn't have it on your great vacation!
  20. Hi Ken...another dumb question for you... We, like you, have an aft cabin. Where did you take most of your photos from? Your balcony or other spots on your ship? I'm starting to think about packing and it will make a difference if we are going in & out to our balcony as opposed to long periods of time out on deck! Thanks, Chris
