  1. I want some of whatever you are having! You have just had fabulous weather! So happy for you! The photos just keep getting better! Chris
  2. Pictures are just fabulous! Thank you for taking the time to share them with us! The more I read, the more I see, the more excited I am! Chris
  3. I agree.... I don't know if you saw it....but way back I asked you if you saw other ships while you were cruising around Antarctica? There are soooo many ships down there! So other than in port...where I'm sure you are seeing other ships...do you see them when you are sailing around Paradise Bay? Elephant Island? Chris
  4. Oh how nice!! We enjoy them as well! You'll laugh. I just reached out to someone who just did our sailing on the Star to inquire if all of the outdoor sights we will want to see are pretty much over by suppertime! Would rearrange our specialty dining....we don't want to miss a thing outdoors when sailing in Antarctica! Just came across this in my reading... ‘below forty degrees south there is no law. Below fifty there is no God.’ Cape Horn is 55.9! Not true for your sailing!
  5. We'll be on the Star. Won't be in any need of waterslides! haha! I had to google Longyearbyen! I think I found your sailings...they look incredible. We have done Iceland and Greenland but did not get to Longyearbyen! ☹️ I need to remember to follow your adventure there! Chris
  6. Oh My! Incredible! We have an Aft cabin on NCL! So excited! Chris
  7. Absolutely beautiful! Definitely the Drake Lake! Hoping you have nothing but Fair Winds & Following Seas! Chris
  8. First location I put in was the Drake Passage...looks like it's approaching 20ft there! I've been following you on Cruise Mapper. There are so many ships down there. Do you see other ships when not in port? Chris
  9. Just explored the site! Thank you Ken! We live in St Augustine FL...It will be fun and helpful to use it....especially during hurricane season! Chris
  10. Sorry, probably a dumb question but what maps are you using for the seas & wave heights. We're heading to the area soon! Thanks so much! Chris
  11. Thank you so much! We are on the doing the same itinerary soon. What kind of clothing do you recommend? How much really cold weather clothing do we really need? Knit hats, gloves, heavy coats, etc Chris
  12. Hi All! We are sailing on Nautica Aug 14-24, 2024. We're within 1 year of sailing and the Shore Excursions have been released. They are listed for every port on our itinerary except for Shannon, Ireland. I'm pretty sure that is not a new port for O. Anyone have any idea why there are none offered there? Chris
  13. Thank you all for your help! I did call Oceania. The agent wasn't 100% sure. She suggested we wait until 21 days before when we can schedule our check in time. She did say that she thinks we can check in as late as 6pm. I'm still in the thinking about it stage! It will either be checking in as early as possible or as late as possible...no 2pm check in! We will be in Dublin for 2-3 days beforehand so we will probably just leave 1 or 2 less time consuming sites for that day! Chris
  14. I know I recently saw a discussion on this but I can't find it! We are sailing on Nautica next summer and she departs Dublin at 9pm on embarkation day We could use the day in Dublin for sight seeing. What is O's procedure for this situation? Do we board, do the safety check-in and then go explore some more? Or do we just board late? If so, how late can we board? Thanks, Chris
  15. Oh that's fine. Still appreciate the information! Chris
  16. Thank you!!! Very helpful! Where did your ship dock? How did you get to Waterford? Chris
  17. We are planning on seeing Waterford on our own. Thank you for any information you find out about getting into Waterford! Chris
  18. I am wondering the same! If you find out any information, please share. We will in Waterford Aug. '24 on Nautica. Chris
  19. So glad that SM is going to work for you, like us. It is going to be the program moving forward. As long as the wine with dinner (we don't drink wine at lunch) is a good selection, SM will be a good program for us. I feel certain they will continue with the free specialty restaurants...it is Oceania's claim to fame...The Finest Cuisine at Sea! Chris
  20. We did not get any savings by switching to SM. Our cruise was almost sold out when we booked. So there will be no sale on it!! But we did book a cabin....we were not waitlisted. It was actually $800 (total-$400/pp) more out of pocket to switch to the SM program. We just think with the added internet which we would have purchased, included wine at dinner (really hoping they have good wines by the glass!), and the fact that we will do some Oceania excursions (we tend to only like the expensive ones!) we will end up saving a bit! And we may as well try it as it will be the only way going forward! Chris
  21. I do have questions!! Could you please email me at diamondplusstone at gmail.com
