  1. Totally jealous of your Halloween in Key West!
  2. Yeah, I get the sadness but in the big scheme of life it's just a blip. This was the week that we were supposed to be on our "Happy Retirement to Me" family and friends cruise to Alaska. We'd looked forward to it since January 2019 but instead the 8 out of the 10 of us that are local came over for a socially distanced outdoor Non Voyage pool party. Maybe some day we'll cruise again.
  3. I'm with neverbeenhere This....I feel like you're covered as long as you get there sometime during the year you're 40.

Great launch photos! There might be 3 launches next week!
  5. @MisterMet I like how you think! We were going to be a group of 10 to celebrate my upcoming retirement on an Alaska cruise in August. I totally intend to throw a sail away party at our pool on our departure day. Angela
  6. Yes, and it's a relief to not be playing the will we or won't we go in August game anymore. I finally gave it up a couple of weeks ago. I promised my family we'll go to Alaska someday but not anytime soon. I don't want to have to wear a mask on a cruise.
  7. We did Valparaiso to Ft. Lauderdale in March 2009. Someday we will go back to see the "other side". Looking forward to going on your trip! Thanks for the link. Angela
  8. It's our August 28th Alaska trip that takes up most of my agonizing these days. Final payment is coming up in mid May and it's a lot of $$ (3 cabins....family celebration) to send into the great uncertainty of refunds v FCC etc. In my heart I know I should just cancel now. Each day I get a bit closer to just accepting that should be the decision. It's a process. LOL I know! I'll just take the family up to watch Washington cross the river this Christmas instead.....still sort of cruise related 😉
  9. That's 3 more times than I made it! LOL The Battle of Trenton was a one time only for the bicentennial event. Next year you and I will have lived in NJ for the same amount of time as I left when I was 17. Yes, Florida is defintely home now. (I do miss some of the food up there though! It was also great having Philadelphia and NYC just a short train ride away.) Was looking forward to lots of last minute cruise deals when I retire this summer but looks like the world has other plans in that regard. First world problems...
  10. I grew up in Trenton! I can totally picture this. I've been in Florida for the last 40 years but remember lots of great picnics and outings to Washington Crossing Park and a big recreation of the Battle of Trenton downtown for the bicentennial in 1976. We used to cut high school and go hang out in Princeton pretending to fit in on campus....LOL
  11. We have August 28th Alaska booked and are all over the place trying to decide what to do. Tonight we talked about it and decided to let it lie until a week before final payment is due May 20. Also booked air through Celebrity.
  12. Thanks, we do have some time to think about this but I'm betting I'll be no more confident of a decision then than I am now. 🤷‍♀️
  13. I have 3 cabins and flights by Celebrity booked for Solstice for late August Alaska. We booked January 2019 and feel like the planets aligned to get the whole family in the same spot at the same time. We talked my sister and some friends in to joining us. In my heart I know we should cancel now but there's this tiny part of me saying "it could happen".....yeah, probably not. Final payment in 5/20 and that's a lot of $ to play around with. I come to the boards each day to see how others are dealing with all this. I know this is a total first world problem to have these days. Decisions.....decisions....
  14. This is my conundrum for our Alaska August Solstice cruise....how ironic that my cruise to celebrate my retirement (35 years) from the Department of Health would be cancelled due to a public health emergency. You couldn't make this stuff up. Angela
