  1. We did the VIP sail and snorkel. Was very relaxing. Myself, my daughter and 2 grandchildren. I sat my butt on the boat while they snorked (I did see "Dori" swimming by :D ) After boarding the boat, we were served with MImosa's. During the sail, they had coctails available and water. After they snorkeled, we had lunch for 2. Was in a cute deep compartment dish that 2 people shared. Nothing big, but served the purpose. My daughter wants to do it again our next cruise.

  2. We went last October (didn't see this on the cruise excursions) and booked privately. I lucked out before purchasing as I found a buy one get one free. We did the dolphin excursion. Myself, daughter and 2 grandchildren. They want to do the sea lion excursion when we go next March. Privately it was $104.00 (have to take water taxi over to Nassau from port $4.00 each. Then check in at Blue Lagoon building. It is across the main street so you will have a short walk from the water taxi past the buildings there and then across the street. With the cruise line, blue lagoon boat will pick you up right there, but the cost (at least on carnival) was $140. each. To get back to the port, their boat actually took us there after they stopped in Nassau.

  3. Myself, my daughter and 2 grandchildren last October booked the dolphin encounter privately with Blue Lagoon. You will go through the port to take a water taxi over to Nassau, $4.00 each. Once you get off that, you have walk past the buildings there to cross the main st to the building and check in with Blue lagoon, you will then take their boat over to their place. After our excursion, we did get on their boat and they stated they stop at Nassau first and if you are on the ship then they drop you off there. They didn't know if we booked privately or not, so that was nice, we stayed on lol.

We did feel lost getting there since it wasn't plainly stated when we booked or through reviews, but then again, we did this privately, not through the cruise ship. better pricing. Also, don't remember if they had it on the ship at that time or not. Now I do see that they have the link if you are on a cruise to use that link which of course states to go through your cruiseline.

But if you want to travel with your friends, then you'll most likely need to book through the cruise. See if they have a basic beach package at better price

  4. I just rented one for my Dec 2018 cruise and looking for suggestions of what number Bungalo to request. I Rented one in the family area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We looked into those for our upcoming March cruise. We found that the bungalows are not near the swimming area. Googled, and looked at videos from you tube on the island. We're finding the best is to just get a clam shell near the swimming area for the kid's. Bunglalows are small and no beach access from what we have found.

  5. I could care less however my son is bummed. Only doing a 3 day. Will it be served any night? Also, steak is on the menu every night, correct? This is on the Victory.

yeah i was bummed for my daughters first cruise. we went in april just for a 5 day. tho she did purchase the last night the surf n turf, but a bummer not on the short cruises any more.

  6. you booked the Early Saver rate is what you did to impose a fee. $50.00 per person and any balance to be held towards a future cruise within 2 years.

As one poster said, many places have cancel policies depending on what you booked. I work for a hotel and ppl always say " I have NEVER heard of blah blah" yeah ok.. like I never travel either.. sheesh.

Don't let it dampen your trip when you go.. then your really losing out on the money you have paid.

  7. We cruised out of NYC Oct 2014 to Nassau, Grand Turk and Half moon cay. We got the cabana. was nice to have the table/chairs/cushioned loungers. Its set up for 4 ppl so you get 8 sodas, 2 large waters, chips, dip and fruit. Also has an a/c unit in the back and a misting fan for the front. You get 4 mats to float/sit on the water and snorkel gear.

I just booked for Oct 2017 and i told my daughter that we can just find lounge chairs near the shade. She said no, she likes the idea of the cabana and definate shade lol.

my friends and i liked the cabana. yes, expensive at $230. We actually split it with another couple we met through our roll call. We already had it booked, but we shared and saved some money.

They also have the 2 story ones, $500. up to 8 ppl.

  8. just got off the Triumph, my daughter did the social media internet. she decided to do 1 day in the begining and 1 at the end. so paid the $5.00 per day verses 18 for the week (5 day cruise)

The biggest pain she found was that it was just about EVERY 60 seconds their pop-up came up asking her to upgrade. Was a pain when trying to type or just view a post. got aggravating she said lol.

  9. I booked a cruise Friday on board and when i saw this post (as its for Oct 2017) i went and checked my confirmation. My prepaid tips are the same as now. I guess since it's not Sept yet and i prepaid mine, i got the old price. and i checked carnival FAQ page

To the person who said don't sweat about it, its just a buck more. they were not "whining" about it, just wanted to confirm the price increase. Suites are $2.00 more (which i dont book) lol.

  10. Because after someone asks the question someone else will come along with a link to this thread, gripe, whine and complain that this question was already asked once before.

Isn't that the truth! I've read that even on the Carnival boards, blah blah, look it up in FAQ etc. I'm like, give those ppl a break, it can be a pain in the butt searching, believe me I still do it when I have questions even to something I have read before but has been a long time since originally seeing it lol. Thankfully there are more people who are kind and will answer without the griping haha. Heck, I will answer and post the link. I feel no need to be snarky about it when someone asks. I don't want them being snarky to me when I have to ask a question lol

  11. i've read about the costs for these options. bummer its gone to 6.75. but it has always said plus 15% gratuity. also never said discount for 2nd child. I've been wanted to take my grandchildren which finally am come this April. The 3 am is new, always seen it till 1am

Just verified on Carnival site, it is until 1:00am. and yes 6.75 which is what i've read in past, but thought in my head it was 6. but knew the total was what the night owls which is approx $20. for each child.

  12. just like another said. i've read too many posts regarding issues with a ship leaving or returning to to the bridge and water too high. The Vista is way bigger than the other ships. There are sailing up through next year from Miami for the Vista because i've looked at them lol. not sure i want that big of a ship, but we'll see lol

  13. Congrats on your price drop!!!

I just booked ES for the first time ever and my PVP told me I'd get an email if the price dropped. Should I be checking on my own?

I do not believe you will get an email. I think that was wrong of the PVP to tell you, because if that was true everyone would post that. I've booked ES for my cruises. You need to look for yourself.

  14. I feel like a real cruiser LOL! it was only $10 less but we got $50 in OBC! I know its not a lot but I'm so proud!!!:D:D

congrats.. in 4 cruises i had 1 price drop but that was when they raised the gratuity which we prepaid. still ended up with like 1 drink each for the 4 of us lol.. somethings better than nothing lol..

This cruise coming up, they had a new special, it actually cost me $17.00 but the special was for $100.00 obc. :D :D Our cruise is paid for so I just paid that 17 and now see that lovely 100 obc hehe..
