  1. one adult in each cabin has to be booked. not all cabins sleep 3. some are only 2 and some are 4. if you look at the layout of the ship on the diagram, and look for your room numbers you will be able to see what sleeps in what room.

  2. its hard to say, my thought would be what ever the current rate is.

My scenario. originally booked 3 ppl, with special 200 obc. 3rd person cancelled. few months later decided she really wanted to go. I called up carnival, (my pvp not available) and explained she wanted to rejoin, but only if we could get the rate for 3rd person when we originally booked last oct. and not lose our obc either lol.

rep talked with cust service. came back and said yes. so yeahh, we rebooked her lol. especially as our cruise is wayyy more than what we originally booked. also the fact we were still in a cabin for more ppl than the now 2 we had. which worked out

as with anything, it seems a hit n miss if they will or not charge you the current. worse case, book at current rate, if different, or he don't go. Maybe parents could cover his deposit?

  3. that's true.. they will be the "main" person. they did that on my account. there were 4 of us in the cabin. but my friend just told them to switch it to hers.

also, be careful as well. my friend got charges for a couple of the liquor bottles in the fridge. and actually on her account than mine (even tho she was on my card) again, she went to the desk and said, ummm no I didn't drink those. they fixed it. even the room steward apologized.

  4. price drops before final payment come off the balance due. In the even you get a wikid price drop you may be out of luck, I'm not sure how that will pan out. Best is to call Carnival and ask them. Another thought, owe more for final payment.

If you are purchasing gift cards to pay for it. instead, just pay with card other than gift card.

as the other poster stated, if your cruise is paid off it will go onto obc. which isn't bad as you'll have that to spend on the cruise.

  5. They extended them.. do NOT throw them away!

First hand know here. when we booked our cruise I had started reading about the cruise cash, and did see the option for the drink coupons. then read on Carnival forums that they stopped and were exp this past feb. which my cruise is Oct.

Mary from Carnival replied to my question on exp date and could they be exchange blah blah.. because they realized that not enough notice whatever, they extended the date.

I misread her post and thought it was this past feb and my cruise isn't until Oct so another cruiser offered to buy my drink and photo coupons. which was cool as I had $160.00 worth lol.

So at least until Feb 2015 they are still good

  6. as the one poster stated, there are so many restrictions. The free room is basically a 1A which is technically the bunk bed rooms, though if you get the ones in the way front (I have on purpose my first cruise) it was a twin and a sleep couch. You still have to pay the port fee's and taxes. and then if the room is not available for the cruise you want, then they get the upsell for you to book a regular inside, or even more an upsell if you book a balcony. In some ways you may save, but again, so many no's, maybe's etc is it worth your 2 hours of time for their "timeshare/travel club" presentation.

Only you can make that choice.

  7. is the bar cash a gift? otherwise, get the cruise cash because that goes for anything purchased on your s & s acct

What is the "Bottomless Bubbles" Unlimited Soda Program ?

Carnival Cruise Lines will offer all guests the option to purchase a “Bottomless Bubbles” unlimited soda program which will allow the guest unlimited soft drinks and juices for the duration of the cruise at a one-time purchase price. Prices are as follows – a 15% gratuity will be added.

Child Rate Per Day $4.50 USD (17 years of age and younger)

Adult Rate Per Day $6.00 USD (18 years of age and older)

Upon purchasing the “Bottomless Bubbles” unlimited soda program, a sticker will be placed on the guest’s Sail & Sign card. “Bottomless Bubbles” can be purchased at the ship’s Casino Bar and Pool Bar.

In all areas on board where beverage service is offered, guests may show the “Bottomless Bubbles” sticker and receive a glass of the carbonated soft drink of their choice. Juices may also be requested. One 16 ounce glass will be served at a time and only to the guest whose name appears on the Sail & Sign card with the “Bottomless Bubbles” sticker attached.

The “Bottomless Bubbles” unlimited soda program is non-transferable and may not be shared. Guests or family members who would like to enjoy soft drinks through this program must purchase their own sticker.

One beverage serving, per sticker, will be served at a time.

Soft drink is served by the glass (16 ounces); juice is served by the glass (10 ounces).

The program cannot be used through room service or the Interactive TV system, where applicable, or the minibar, where applicable.

The following beverages are available in the Lido Deck Restaurant, 24/7 and are complimentary: Coffee; Hot Tea; Hot Chocolate; Lemonade; Ice Tea.

Note: This program is not offered at Half Moon Cay and Little Stirrup Cay.

*May be subject to sales tax if purchased prior to sailing

  8. Many times they won't let you book the cabin to begin with if you don't book it with full occupancy. For example, if it's a quad cabin they won't let you book it for only 2 or 3. Not always, but many times.

they will online. just not if your calling directly

  9. just heard that prices went up at least on the Splendor. 5 cartons for $160. but that's still breaks down to 32 a carton. and those were Marlboro. unless you live down south, buy enough to get him through till the shops open once out to sea and purchase them on the ship. your allowed one duty free carton. the others if you bring any back with you, you'll pay duty taxes and that depends on what port. also, the agent may or may not charge you. same with liquor

  10. well, I read not too long ago that a person couldn't go on the cruise. they had her be a no show. When she didn't show, they got charged penalties. she had to pay the single supliment charges on top of that I believe what it was. yes they refunded the port chg's/fees but other than that they got charged the fee on top of it all.

  11. can understand the frustration, but since the OP couldn't book the rate, then that's not available for booking. All rates show the standard starting point as the previous poster stated. Depending on the actual cabin selection can determine the different pricing.

As much as it sucks, even if they had booked it, carnival does have a disclaimer stating that any glitches in the system when you booked a really cheap rate and they catch it, they will ask you for the difference or you can cancel your cruise with no penalties ie:ES

I have people who call me up saying, well the rate online for a room is X amt $$. I would say to them, you are most likely on a TA webpage and if you go in to actually start a booking process you will see what the rate really is. the websites will state lowest price, but they don't tell you that it would be for a standard king room on a weeknight during a slow season. but when you go in and actually choose your date, choose the # of people, then you will get the most current rate.

  12. just like in a hotel, there are deadbolts there for a reason. Use them. Never hurts to be cautious and pro-active in your safety. :)

our housekeepers knock on the door, announce themselves and yet a lot of times customers don't respond. hskg uses their key to go in and the guest is there. duhh, there is a deadbolt AND a chain in the room. I always use it even before I had started working at a hotel.

  13. and yet you only see in the documents that there are only a handful compared to over 2000 guests that are sueing. and as to that line, it also stated most if not all cruise lines has that disclaimer.

will be interesting how this continue's to play out.

  14. my thoughts are many different reasons, a lot that you and your husband have touched on. one of which is getting people to cruise and bring their numbers up. some ppl wait to see if the price will drop the closer to the cruise. I'm sure they would rather have those guaranteed bookings prior. and then, as you say as well, see how they spend with that free cruise.

I've booked early saver and have had 1 price drop in 3 cruises and lost some of that from when they raised the gratuities (always pre-pay mine) so that s*cked. have had 1 upsell fairy call, but not a deal when I could have booked that same rate back when I booked the cruise.

I've read how some ppl get all these great price drops, and now these free cruises. yep, I'm jealous! lol. and also happy for them.

guess we'll see what Carnival continues to do to bring in the bodies.
