if the cruise companies try to get the company to monopolize the excursions for only the cruise ships. I talked to a company in Canada back when and he had said that if he contracted with the cruise lines, he couldn't book anyone else. he said nope. which I didn't blame him.
and yes, must be an excursion you can book on your own which some you can find. but got to check too, is it guaranteed a refund if the ship doesn't port, do they provide transportation.

that's cool. maybe that's why I saw the other day that the parasailing price went down? maybe. lol. on land was 85, carnival had 99.99. but then saw it dropped to 89.99. for the guarantee of getting my money back, i'll book with carnival :) for the extra 5 bucks lol

OPs cruise is in March. Sounds like it might be past the final payment date, which only matters if OP didn't book under early saver. More info would help.
exactly. more info needed.
to the other poster, depending on the length of cruise, ex; 7 days is like 75 days is the payment due date before the cruise OP is past that. if booked rate other than early saver, no price drops. IF booked early saver and same cabin/location/# ppl he can apply for the obc.
-
always been that way at least since I've cruised that if you want an early tender you must go down to get the tickets. they used to make your whole party be there to get them.
-
call carnival and find out why they did it and if can be back to what you want. the bunks are comfy from what my friend has said and that would leave your couch for sitting vs sleeping. I would rather have mid ship myself. I've never read where they have moved ppl if it is the same room type/# of ppl. only if your in a room with less ppl than what the room can hold.
just read OP that you got it straightened out.. glad to hear. rather be aft than fwd. been in fwd, more rocking lol. always good to double check when changes happen so you can get it taken care of right away by calling carnival direct. :)
-
nope.. gotta do it their way. I agree, they keep changing the dang thing. it is annoying

I just don't really think about it.. what I do miss is having the band playing Caribbean music sometimes :)

to book connecting cabins online ? I was really hoping to do this on my own through Carnival's site, but I just can't seem to make it work. Not to mention the connecting cabins selection seem to be few and far between, but I am guessing that is intentional .
on our 2010 cruise I always use my PVP and when I was giving her the room #'s she said wouldn't you like a connecting cabin I said yeah but couldn't get them when looking. she said she can do it. :)
so that's the way to go.. through the PVP

I like it punched so it stays. 2 cruises ago I got the carnival one that you can detach from the main so you don't have to drag it off over your head. I put my license in the sleeve for our safe. walking around checking out the ship, the wind blowing so much that it actually swung that thing around that it came right off!. I wasn't worried, I had my passport and new that security would get me in the safe. and what was cool was it didn't go flying off into the ocean as I was thinking, it was found and turned into guest services :) so if you use it and are walking around upper decks, tuck that puppy in lol.
-
it does sound far fetched. maybe 1, but 3 offers, wow. if the op did, that's great for them.. I've read others able to book cruises for 100 bucks give or take.
-
they did the same for my friend. when she realized she forgot to cash out I told her now its there money. that was my understanding back on that cruise. and a couple months later got a check for 10 bucks from them :) thought that was cool.

15 on cigs? dayam.. I only paid 4 bucks in NYC but that was in 09. last year on the victory out of san juan, they didn't charge me :)
-
different port, but our first cruise to Canada out of NYC when I went through customs and they saw the extra on smokes, they told me how much, and you pay them in CASH. then off you go. didn't take any extra time. they look at your declaration forms and let you know.
-
I think these are like with anything else. ie: cell phones exploding when being used while plugged in. I have ecigs and *knock on wood* it hasn't happened to me. Though I have seen posts on FB regarding the ecigs "exploding". Need to be aware of the possibility.
I understand your concern regarding this issue with the ship but also in any home. and I never let mine charge without being present.
Anything electrical needs to be monitored. I charge mine and they last awhile so knows it can last my cruise, plus the fact I have 2 charges.
I'm glad you were there when this happened and you are ok. :)
-
depending on how many ppl in the cabin, but usually around 15-20 and I do it at the end of the cruise we've always had good service from our room stewards. same with the waiters though I will say, our last cruise on the victory out of san juan, we actually didn't give extra tips at the end. they switched them and neither team not personable and were slow. we always pre-pay our gratuities which then means we never adjust them. so they still got tips, just not the extra at the end.

man you gotta laugh. the poll states. AFTER you read the review to do it. I was curious and looked at results and yep. there were some done already.
-
everyone is intitled to their views on what they liked, didn't like. I as well am looking forward to the rest of the OPS review. I as well go with the flow, there is almost always something a little off to make you think hmmm.. but still have a good time.
instead of focusing on why he won't sail Carnival again, because as of yet, i haven't read him bad mouthing for something too trivial to say that is why he won't. like other one time posters who say they will never sail because of something totally stupid or their own fault for not reading up on whats what.
I've read reviews of people who just say either Carnival is not for them (as this is what I'm reading into this review) or they say, cruising in general is not for them. Everyone has their likes and dislikes. I enjoy it myself :)
Waiting for the rest of your review op :)

as agc posts. you'll be able to upgrade, if you keep what you have and any open up and have price drops you can apply for them, and if that new cat you upgraded to has price drops you can take advantage of those.

Perhaps the poster means this Feb.
lmao.. my dates messed up.. I'm sure your right.. dang I need my cruise.. lol
-
No Splendor out of NY in Feb. last cruise out of NY is Oct 24 and that's the repositioning cruise. unless your talking about taking her out of fla

I've checked into these. there is one place that's $50.00 and in a marina, small beach. the other that we were seriously looking at is the RIU resort $75.00 with swim up bar full beach and premium liquors (the 100 is if you by it AT the resort). both available through island marketing.
-
That is bad. I think you would know if you emailed or called. She should have said, oh, I'm sorry, yes your right you called. Is there any questions I can help you with? and go from there. I agree, I wouldn't have dealt with her after that either, but then again, I only book through my PVP anyways
-
it will say in the description that it is per cabana not per person
-
as the first poster stated if booked ES rate. We had 3 in our cabin, then went to 4 and then ended up back to 2. the first 2 person rates stayed the same. the difference for us is we always split the total up between all parties. but now since back to 2 persons, we went from 838 each for cruise/taxes/gratuities to 1010.00. but all good. now we have no more worries lol.. just do it before final payment.
Question about the excursion guarantee?
in Carnival Cruise Lines

your getting the food n drinks w/carnivals excursion plus transportation they provide. so I would say it is not the "same" excursion. check out the difference and then make the choice of who you will book with.
