  1. I can understand your disappointment missing ports. It happens for a variety of reasons. When you book a cruise, the cruise line doesn’t cancel ports without good reasons. Cruise lines don’t want unhappy guests. Having been on many cruises, I have had changes in ports. If there are changes, telling the guests as soon as possible helps. Guests deserve honest answers when asked about changes. Cruise schedules can be affected by weather, rough seas, strikes, sickness, civil unrest, etc. In March 2020, we were on Sirena when the world went into lockdown. We were shut out of most ports. Crew was extremely supportive. We were happy to get home safely. Sometimes things happen. accept that things can happen. Even though you may miss a port, enjoy the rest of your cruise. Happy that we can travel again.
  2. I have my boarding pass. I am also taking the ship transfers. I don't think that not having the cruise booklet will be a problem. Luggage tags would be nice. However, I can get tags at the dock. In addition, I always put a itinerary in the outside pocket of my luggage. It helps if the luggage tag gets torn off or the luggage gets lost.
  3. TA did that. O claimed that it was sent to my address. I also checked the US postal informed delivery. Nothing
  4. In December, we got all docs, summary brochure, luggage tags, we’re able to do online checkin, and take and upload photos. We did everything and didn’t experience any problems. In June, we got email docs, no summary brochure or luggage tags, did online checkin and took photo. Photo would not upload. Crazy? Next day we got boarding passes stating photos will be taken at the pier.
  5. Still nothing. Contacted my TA who said it was mailed on May 10th. We sail in June. Not putting much faith into getting it before we sail. Don’t care about summary tags. I would like the luggage tags. On my roll all, some people got docs and some didn’t. Hope that this isn’t an indication of O future. I am checked in, have boarding passes, and hope for the best.
  6. I got a promo from another cruise line. The promo that said they were moving me up to the next higher loyalty level and added some OBC as a bonus if we booked soon. Using points, I was one cruise away from that higher level. I was excited. The promo also included links to future cruises. We booked.
  7. I am a very fussy eater. If I don’t like something, I don’t eat it. I have never gone hungry on Oceania.
  8. I always got what I requested. The products provided are good. They are more like a gel, not oily. If you like unscented products, bring your own. we are also on Marina 6-21
  9. If you aren’t flexible and really want a specific cruise or a type of cabin, you’re stuck paying inflated prices. As a former teacher , I used to vacation during summer or school recesses. The prices were high. It’s supply and demand. If you can are flexible, you can save $. I am retired. I am very flexible. I have jumped on deals last minute that are very cheap. You mentioned inside cabins. Be smart. Don’t just look at one category. Often when a certain category isn’t selling well, cruise lines will drop price on a specific category. We just booked an Oceania cruise that dropped veranda cabins. The price for Oceanview and inside are higher than verandas. Cruises book from both ends. The first cabins booked are insides and the best suites. The verandas are often the last to be booked.
  10. I would only book a future cruise if the perks were outstanding and it was completely refundable. Sometimes booking onboard is a good deal. Often you can do better with a TA. Now that most fcc vouchers have been used, the cruise prices have become very competitive. Wait and book when you see a great price. The key is to be flexible. The closer you get to the cruise date, you can get better prices on sailings with low bookings.
  11. I love cookies. On last cruise, we noticed that cookies weren’t great. Instead we got the rolled up wafers that are served with ice cream. We love the HS ice cream.
  12. On cruises before pandemic, there was plenty of all types of toiletries. White was for regular verandas, ov, and below. It had a strong aroma. As you moved up categories there were more choices. In concierge, you got a choice of green or blue. Suites got more choices. If you asked for anything, you got it. Our most recent cruise we were in concierge. No choice menu. You got whatever they left you. Often it was a mixed bag of fragrances. Color caps often didn’t match the fragrance. Some bottles were full. Some were not full. Having taken 3 cruises this past year on different lines, the supply chain issue seems to be widespread. On all 3, there were missing items that we had on previous cruises. No coke on O? We were told that we had to request it before we sailed. For my next O cruise we requested Diet Coke. Will be pleased if it happens.
  13. I always bring my favorite toiletries. I like the Bvlgari products. They work well. My favorite is the Blue. On last cruise, we couldn’t get blue. Only green and white were available. My spouse doesn’t care for some of the aromas.
  14. I can feel your pain. We booked a cruise from the extraordinary deals. We booked with O air because we couldn’t find a decent airfare. We change planes once going, and change twice returning. All changes have 2+ hours between flights. We don’t like it. We got assigned seats on 4 out of 5 flights. We couldn’t get reserved seats on a subsidiary of Lufthansa Eurowings Discovery. I called my TA, Lufthansa, and Eurowings with no success. Lufthansa and Eurowings said that nobody can reserve a seat. We cannot get seats until checkin 24 hours before the flight. We are not happy. Strangely enough, we are booked on a Viking cruise with air. Sure enough, we are also flying Eurowings. Viking got us reserved seats. I can only guess that O bought the cheapest seats. Has anyone flown on Eurowings?
  15. Update…we were able to link our reservations using the invite feature. One person made dining reservations for all of us. The reservation was posted on my Viking journey calendar. We haven’t a clue what menu will be served at the Chef’s Table. If it isn’t to our liking, we may try rebooking.
  16. Yes. Final docs have all the info. We got that yesterday. We did the online checkin today. After that, we were sent digital boarding passes. On past cruises, when we did the online checkin, uploaded photos , and there was a link to get boarding passes. The link didn’t work. Nor were we able to upload photos. We could take the photo, but not upload it. Message option was it could be done at the dock checkin. It’s likely not a problem. Regardless, we have boarding passes.
  17. Yes, we booked with TA. We always book with TA. She always forwards any info. For past O cruises, we were sent the summary booklet directly from O. We got our boarding passes sent directly from O today. Just thought that O stopped printing booklets. If we don’t get luggage tags,we can get them at the dock. We sail on other lines that do everything online.
  18. In USA, have only received email docs. I sail this month.
  19. Cruise is a few weeks away. Yesterday I got email with docs. It included the info that used to be in the blue book. While the blue book was nice, I understand that sending email docs are easier…and also cheaper. However, I didn’t see luggage tags. Do they still send them out?
  20. When we were on Marina recently, I went to the artist loft to inquire about classes. The paintings by the resident artist were on display with posted prices. Previously I never saw that. Looked like the mass market art displays before auctions. Since I didn’t like the paintings, I walked out and never pursued spending time on the ship painting. Art auctions are a real turnoff for me.
  21. We are traveling with friends. Dining reservations for specialty restaurants opens soon. We gave our friends our booking # assuming that they can make reservations for all of us. Am I correct? Or do we also have to make reservations on our end? Also, I read that the menu for Chefs Table changes often during a cruise. I am sure that we would prefer some menus over others. Is there any way to see menus before we book for a specific night? Or do we just book and find out later what will be served?
  22. I have been to Norway many times. It is beautiful. However, it’s expensive. I usually take lots of photos. Only things that I ever brought back were trolls and sweaters. In Finland, reindeer mittens were a great souvenir. just enjoy the beauty of Norway. I am looking forward to my upcoming time in Norway this year.
  23. Alesund is beautiful. It’s easy to get a map and see it on your own. Be sure to visit the folk museum.
  24. Laundry rooms are on the side with even numbered cabins.
  25. Booking shore excursion procedure is crazy. Booking opened for my cabin category earlier today. Previous to today, some of the excursions were sold out. We stuck to mostly included excursions. As we started to select excursions and times, we watched some times gone. Fortunately, I read the postings. We reserved the excursions that we really wanted first. They sold out quickly. Had we booked excursions in the order of the ports, we never would’ve gotten our most desired choice. I prefer cruises that allow you to book excursions as soon as you book and pay for your cruise. Book early, pay early, book excursions early. Book late, pay late, book excursions that are leftover.
