I am not a PEI expert but this is a scenic route. North Rustico is a pretty fishing port and Victoria by the sea is full of shops and restaurants.
At Borden Carleton you can see the Confederation Bridge which crosses to New Brunswick.
Stanley Bridge is a fishing spot and there is a nice restaurant there.
There are a couple decent restaurants in North Rustico. One does lobster with all you can eat mussels.
Near Brackley (great beach) is an interesting shop/restuarant called the Dunes.
New Glasgow is up on a hill with a lovely view (and a tourist shop/restaurant PEI Preserve Co..)

You really need a bit of everything. Bring a waterproof jacket with hood and have a sweater or fleece to wear under it. Have long pants, shoes and socks. But also have capris and sandals, etc.

I agree, Halifax is great for walking around on your own. Sydney is not.
For Charlottetown you should consider renting a car to drive to Cavendish, Green Gables and the scenic drive along the shore in the National Park.

Another company I can vouch for who do transfers is Driver in Rome.

We often travel without a SIM card or access to wi-fi so even though I have everything in files on my phone and/or tablet and in the cloud, I have to have printed backup. I do a spreadsheet with main info plus print outs of tickets, reservations, etc. As we go I throw out the paper copies.

I agree. It helps you understand Florence to know this history.

Looks like yet another step towards increasing revenue while reducing the experience.
Indeed I will have one more reason to not consider Azamara again.

I have an entry stamp from when I flew into Lyon last year but no exit stamp when I left. I guess I am still in Europe!!

Choose your itinerary for the ports and the time spent in port. Prices are a good indication of when is the best time to go. Spring will be cool but much quieter. October is the peak time and the up to five ships in port (Halifax) in one day shows that. Mid summer is likely best if you don't care about the fall colours and the crowds, with June and September next.

I hope things settle down in Turkey and more ships go there again. Our first ever cruise (Azamara) included five ports in Turkey: the usual overnight in Istanbul, a long day in Kusadasi (Ephesus), and then Bodrum, Fethiye and Antalya. All three were wonderful. Warm weather in November, ancient and medieval historical sites and great waterfronts with gulets to rent.

Actually there are several car rental places very close by at the Via (train) station attached to the Westin Hotel just a few minutes from your pier. There are others in town which arrange to pick you up.
Here is a link to a document with much more information: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BjAtDscML-9Ce3VWUUsOrsVhPL7KIxb7Go_9SRi82dE/edit
Let us know what you find out.

That you go back to the USA every night (figuratively) at least on American owned cruise ships. That may be comforting to many but until we are much older and a bit disabled it is not for us.

I have a feeling this was not an official post office. However we were able to buy postcards and stamps in a shop on the main shopping street and mail them there. They did arrive but I don't remember how long they took. Try posting this on Trip Advisor:

My husband kayaked in Antarctica on another ship. They only went out on calm waters. It looked to be a magical experience. The company (G Adventures) said you should be experience but my husband found several had none at all. They were double kayaks and they had to juggle groups around a but.
You can get much more Antarctica information here: https://www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowForum-g1-i12337-Antarctic_Adventures.html
Look at the Top Questions on the right of the page (web browser needed.)

One thing people often fail to do is check the dates ships will be in a particular port in terms of whether that is a holiday or a day that most museums are closed.
Some ships also have much shorter port times than others.
From what I have seen you get what you pay for in terms of port dates and times.

See post #8 above.

You are not going to get reviews for 2018 until tourist season.
They are a new company, I believe. I follow TA and Cruise Critic for Sydney and had not heard of them.

Your passport is not a place to collect souvenirs, tempting as it may seem. You may need those pages later for visas and stamps from countries where the are routine.
-
Check out not only the ports but the time you have in each port.

I have heard nothing. They don't seem to be on the web. If I learn anything I'll post it.
There is no similar place to my knowledge.

The one in Halifax mostly is in the downtown area and unless you cannot walk is likely not worth the money. https://www.grayline.com/tours/halifax/halifax-hop-on-hop-off-5858_21_12130_2313/
There are two routes. Here is a map. http://media.tourcms.com/a/11676/2313/12130.pdf It goes up Citadel Hill and it does go out of the downtown core to the Hydrostone district.

I think a private operator could take you to the Fortress but they could not give you a tour there. The Fortress have their own tours in the shoulder season and they put on special tours for cruise ships (ships' tours) and in summer there is no need of a tour. If you want to go in summer and do not want to rent a car you could investigate a taxi and there may be some at the dock.

The proper place for this is the Roll Call for your cruise: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2506050
