  1. The IRS has a habit of being, well, wrong. Was this damaged return filed on paper? A & B were on opposite side of the same page. Great job of figuring out that mystery!
  2. Okay, good to know. Guess that system isn't as clever as I expected.
  3. Well, I'll be darned. If I'm not mistaken, they were identical way back. You have an extra day - never really noticed that before. Was that true all along? Was Mazatlan originally on the itinerary? What a sec - 10 ports vs. 9? Funny thing - I'm counting 8 and 7 ports, respectively. I don't count first and last as "ports". I only count stops enroute. And I still count you as having 6 sea days. That's the 5 listed as such, plus day 5 in Panama - which arrives at 8 PM (mine is at 6). That counts as a sea day for sure - even if you can go ashore that night.
  4. Make that three. Ooh - we could start a club. 😎
  5. Hate to be to be obvious, but call your TA (if applicable) or NCL and ask about the 6%. Or, if you have a new account statement, compare the various charges to your old statement and see which ones are different. the answer is in there somewhere.
  6. Amazing! You sure that NCL isn't paying you to come aboard?
  7. Book one table for 4 - except at flat charge restaurants like Teppanyaki - that one will bill for #'s 3 & 4.
  8. I call it the "perpetual sale" routine. They either decide to renew the expired deal or replace it with another one (70% off one passenger vs. 35% off of two for example).
  9. What, you got something against "list prices"? How do you expect to secure a bargain without them jacking up the initial price?
  10. It's just advertising to try to capture shopper interest. If you see something "new" being promoted, do a mock booking to check out the net price for the cruise. Then you will know for sure.
  11. I figured that it did, which motivated your post. Anyway, congrats! Always nice to save a few bucks.
  12. Thanks for the correction. The post with those figures did not specify about the rate for two being pp. I interpreted in the way that made sense to me. So, I agree with you that it is, finally, a small break for the solo travelers.
  13. I guess I guessed wrong. My sincere apologies.
  14. I only learned that there were such cash discounts recently - from reading post on this board. As for small potatoes - don't mash those spuds up so quickly: My discounts for 3 items (gift card, OBC & DSC ($600 alone) from my TA came to about 17% of cruise fare excluding taxes & fees.
  15. The figures posted above show solo's are paying $42 not 42% off. 42% would indeed be a great discount from a fair 50% drop. I posted previously that the discount is a mere 16%; Ooops by me - it's actually 14% ($7 out of $49). Now, if you wanted to infer that the real fair charge was $42 pp and a duo is getting a bargain by paying only $49 instead of $82, you'd have an explanation. I'm not really buying that.
  16. They make it back on the cabin charge. That is understandable. I don't think it's fair to charge anything extra for food, drinks, internet or excursions since one person uses nothing more and it's not a required expense.
  17. I have same experience as hallux. She is boarding the day I disembark in January (exact same Panama cruise in reverse direction). Not sure about her cabin class. According to Cruise Plum's tracking, my cabin pricing has not changed since 9/6. Balcony has dropped a bit a couple of times recently; insides have gone up several time since mid October up until 11/3. I have no doubt that you found a large scale price reduction via this Cruise Plum site. But how would you know that every single cruise was reduced? Or in every class? "Widespread" and "across the board" do not have the same meaning.
  18. Hardly - considering all that you get is 1/2 of what two passengers would. 16% off instead of 50% crappy deal!
  19. Internet searches not a waste of time if you look for other than a straight cash rebate. There are OBC's, free DSC, gift cards. I suppose that cash would be best - if you can find those companies.
