We were on the Conquest in June. I had called customer service before the cruise and the rep. pretty much quoted from the Carnival FAQ's. That there wasn't a set date for Conquest to get the Hub App and it'd be rolling out to the rest of the fleet over the next 18 months.
It doesn't have a serenity area, but deck 10 is a great place to relax. One side is the designated smoking area. The other side has a bunch of nice cushioned chairs and couches w/ coffee tables. It was always quiet and never crowded when we were there. There were a lot of kids on board, but none ever seemed to hang out in this area. All of the chairs & couches are under the overhang, so it's usually shady.
Sounds like a great place for a book and drink!

My trusty glass is going with me. A fake Yetti, trust me when I say, this $10 knock off from Wal-Mart works just as well. We tested it.
The green is for mixed drinks by the pool, ice doesn't melt. 20oz. The pink, 30 oz, is for ice water all day.
I bought Tervis cup handles at Bed Bath and Beyond

My cruise room has also become a garage sale sorting room! And soon to be a temporary toddlers room. I've been doing The Closet Dance to free up room for the family moving in for a bit. Have to do it all before I leave Sept 7. I'm just going with cruise clothes for my week in Mexico at all inclusive. I've been picking up some floaty tank tops, some I've bought matching tight tanks to go under. Many have arm holes too big, or sheer fabric. So at newly 65, I'm a kid again wearing undershirts. I usually stay away from tanks but find I look better in them if tan!? And this summer I got a nice tan. I think I'll be okay. Clothes for Mexico should be same or similar to cruise clothes.
We haven't heard from Indiana. Is she traveling? Or just settling in to their new house?
Hope you all have had spectacular summer weather and hurricane free fall cruises.

We had to change flights because our cruise leaves at 4 and they told us we had to be on board at 2. Or checking in by 2. (They did admit it's really 2:30 but not allowed to tell people that because of flight delays and traffic jams). So you're best bet is ask your cruise line. Then try to buy airport transfers to port through your Cruise line. If it's too late for that(it was for us, by 5 min) then change your flight. Ours was to Florida and a new ticket was cheaper than change fee. Hope you succeed. Congratulations!

Here is link to a thread from the St Thomas port of call board where I posted some information on Coki Beach / Coral World for someone that was also sailing with children. Some photos are included as well as link to Coral World website.

We did this with a 4 year old girl last winter. We booked through the ship, a much shorter excursion than some independent ones. She was bored pretty quickly. Because we picked the shorter one we didn't come prepared for beach. But boy did she love it. In her clothes. We stayed on board for Tortilla ship she could enjoy the kid pool area without so many older kids running through it from time to time
In Nassau we did a ships photo session
They took us
past Atlantis to the public beach
It was awesome
Grab a towel and go!

I'm very happy to have found this discussion. Very interested in booking this ship. My DH retires next fall and we're looking for a Med cruise into a TA. Inn 2018. Hopefully Horizon chooses that in itinerary.

I sailed on the Escape Super Bowl 2016. We had adjoining rooms with family. We called down and they sent someone up with the tool. Since I didn't talk to them myself, I doubted they'd come. They most definitely came, after I figured how to do it myself. It's a square opening. You need something wide enough to go at an angle. I figured a butter knife, but my car keys actually worked. It was never shut for the entire 7 days.

What a great deal! I have been on and off this thread for years and just popped back on because I was invited this week to join a friend for a Windstar cruise to the French and Italian Rivera in mid-October, which I soon learned can be a rainy time of year. So, I was on a hunt for a jacket too that would be good for traveling and water resistance as well as stylish.
It must be a good time to buy jackets, as I just found this waterproof one on ebay (retails for $295) for just $28, plus $6 for shipping:
So it seems like these hot summer months are a good time to get a deal if you are planning ahead and getting in on some so what is left from last season's stock.
Wow! What a deal! And gorgeous!

This is totally off topic, forgive me. Not a usually much of a poster. I don't sew clothes now. Repairs and small projects mostly. My machine is far from New. I've never had it serviced. I live in a small town. I went from a stretch stitch back to straight and now nothing sews, just a tangle of thread getting caught in the bobbin. I'm assuming if I can get to a fabric store, they'll service my machine. Any other suggestions?

A couple years back I lost my casual white jacket. (I mentioned here I'm sure) I was lucky to find a replacement the night before our cruise at a Bealls. As I'm thinking about my Sept cruise I realized I hadn't seen it. For about two weeks I thought it was gone and started looking for another. Found a swinging longer hooded jacket at Labels $hoppers. Under$15. Looked good with longer tunic tops and leggings. Then I found white jacket in my cruise room. I apparently took it off to try something on and then-just-forgot!. Happy to now have two totally different styled jackets. Both will go with me.

Love the bag. It really does remind me of my Vera bag. Just wish it had the luggage strap. I bought the diaper bag that can be a back pack or tote. Is plastic lined so swimsuits after beach aren't a problem. You did good and love the material.

I know this is a clothes chat. But I've got to share what I think is helping me lose weight(5/6 lbs) and not know it. On some comparisons by friends and you tube video, I went to Wal-Mart and bought a $9.74 glass.
I fill the large one with ice and water at night and take to my bedroom. It stays icy till morning, and even cold 24 hours later. It compares to a $40 Yetti. The handle belongs to a Tervis. I put the stones on to tell mine apart from roomie in upcoming cruise. I bought the 2nd one, s 20 oz $7.94 ish, to pour mixed drinks in it. No melty mixed drinks for me at the pool.
Went shopping today and still had ice and soda after leaving in a hot car!
I even went and bought the smaller handle in lime green for this smaller cup. My plan is to fill the big one with lemonade.
I fill the big one with water whenever it's empty. I dislike room temp water so I never drank very much. Now I drink it all the time!
If you need a glass, I highly recommend this one from Wal-Mart. In the camping section with all the other campfire stuff! I don't recommend the coozies, not all bottles fit.

Wow! Pretty colors. Tried a pair on today, my painted toenail peeked through. Guess it's time for a pedi

I have always cruised with Carnival until this year. We choose to go with NCL instead. Worst mistake! Food is not nearly as good as Carnival and the customer service is not the same. We had the Ultimate Beverage Package as well and if your not a Pepsi drinker than you will want to stick with alcoholic beverages. The package does not include bottles of water, specialty coffees, or Red Bull. Despite the fact that all of these are less than $15 a piece.
I'm a Carnival fan, but except for the Pepsi thing, I love coke products, I also am a NCL fan. I think we all like and dislike different things. I had the Carnival drink pkg and it didn't include those things either.
I'm just glad I'm floating on water with someone else doing the cooking, cleaning and waiting on! 100% cruiser.

I've sailed on over 10 Carnival, booked on Conquest and Vista. I've sailed on several NCL and have my second Escape booked. Here's my opinion, for what it's worth.
On CARNIVAL Breeze, I love that ship. Feel it's very comparable to The Getaway. I prefer the pool areas on the Breeze even tho the aft pool is not adult only:( from what I've read, the Vista will compare favorably to the Escape also. I hated the closed in feel of the ncl Lido deck.
Food, sports deck and entertainment goes to NCL.
As far as the"free ubp and udp" costing you tip and taxes, you will also have to pay tip and taxes in the Carnival drink pkg total.
My best advice to anyone trying to pick a cruise line is to make a list of things you think are the most important.
Here's why I choose between the two. If budget is the issue and love to relax around a pool IN THE SUN,(many of NCL chairs are in covered areas) want good food, decent shows, great music and great social staff, I choose Carnival. I do not buy the drink pkg. Maybe the soda package.
If I'm traveling with people where food, wine, drinks and spectacular entertainment are more important and ship amenities I choose NCL, Escape. Inside, outside, balcony, whatever I can afford. Would I choose NCL without their offer. Yes, on the Escape, maybe not the other ships. I'm kind of a ship snob. I like the big, multi restaurant choice ships.
Oasis( never been on Allure) Celebrity Reflection Escape, Breeze and I'm sure the Vista. My last word. If you're a sun worshipper, choose Carnival. Lido had a much more open resort feel and great fast food at your fingertips. Hope this helps.
Ps. Have never had a small child on any but NCL. 4 yr old girl begged her parents to take her to the kids club. And the kids rope course. She loved it. She loved their kiddy pool area too.(escape) 2 yr old loved the kids ropes course but not a huge fan of kiddy pool. Things were broken and big kids not policed. Needs refurbished on the Getaway.(a year ago, hopes it's been done)

So, I checked with that guy that rhymes with Ron Darreled and he said, "Not yet mate. I will post as soon a s the beards tell me of their plans. Cheers and hope all is well"
Laughing so hard! Took me a min!!

I doubt anyone here could tell you.
Carnival published a partial timetable once, but fell behind on what they published. Honestly, I wouldn't expect it for next month.
Also hoping for Hub on Conquest for Sept. It was announced the would have inn 2015 and other ships inn 2016. They are way behind!

Good afternoon ladies! I am not sure if you know of this sewing tip: went to our local hardware store and purchased some heavy(ish) plastic and traced my pattern pieces on to that. It is not transparent but you can see through it. If it a pattern you use a lot , this is longer lasting than paper.
Have a great week, Sue

Will pass this on to my daughter who re-uses patterns for her daughter.

Indiana, look at Sketcher StretchWeaves. They're even more comfortable than GoWalks
I've looked at those and some similar. Are they really that comfy?

Do you pack differently for a summer month cruise than a winter one? If both are to Caribbean locations.

I'm really picky about shoes. Hard to fit, has to be perfect! Just found on clearance Body Glove water shoes. Will be perfect for the Baths excursion in Tortola. So excited.
