  1. It will be such a sentimental journey for you as you downsize. I wish I could convince my dh to. I got him to look at some model homes here in Florida. For the moment he thought about it. My house isn't very sellable. Built in 1892. Boiler heat, only half A.C.. Old house old problems. I bath up, 1& a half down. 6 bedrooms. We've tried when our last went to college. On the market for 7 years 5 people came to see. I'm so glad to cruise and travel in the winter cause it's cold too. What were we thinking 30 years ago?

  2. Finally in one spot for awhile. Warm Naples Florida. That nasty ice storm started right after we left. Im 33 days from my next and so far only cruise booked. I'm sure I'll start looking when I return. I'm ready for a whole new cruise wardrobe! Everything I have with me has been on the last three. I'm tired of it. Maybe a few pieces will revive the old!

Happy Holidays, hope they were warm and happy!

  3. Hope those of you leaving, or preparing to leave, had a calorie free Thanksgiving. My cruise/disney suitcase, with clean clothes, is laying in my laundry room still packed. There's a closet near by, I'm thinking I will hang things up as back they go to Florida at Christmas. Will save time and effort. No sense bringing all that upstairs.

My Feb cruise is on the new Escape. I'm disappointed in all the increases that have been made since I've made final payment. We will have a blast no matter what but it doesn't seem right that they can start charging for things that were advertized as free. Rant over. Happy Christmas shopping.

  4. Why would they build a casino that is so open to the center of the ship. I sure hope that the smell of smoke won't be noticeable otherwise I will be annoying everyone with my chronic cough. I had issues with the casino on RCCL Oasis of the Seas and it wasn't as open as this appears to be.

On Getaway I did everything to avoid the casino. I don't like that layout either.

  5. It's been an interesting few days. I'm not packed. And have just had to be ok with it. Leaving Friday. Looking forward to a better tomorrow.

You may recall I had severe pain with infection while in Florida. My neighbor the dentist made me come in this am. Yep, cyst on nerve nearest sinus cavity. Script given as a precaution. Root canal sch for Dec 3. Already on meds for severe UTI discovered yesterday. My immune system is low. Think alcohol will kill anymore infections that try to knock me down? Cruise on Breeze Sat. 8 day southern. Nails and toes later today, hair was yesterday. Sleeping more this am. This cruise is planned to be a much less active that last month. I see some sun worship in my future. Sweat out toxins.

Thanks ladies for your support during my illness's while I travel. 8 day cruise, 9 days in Naples with daughters and grandson, 11 days in Disney with 3 of our daughters, spouses, two grandchildren.

I could easily forget to take care of self, drink water, etc. Coming home to host thanksgiving I do with great joy. Only real big family gathering we still have. And I'll have about 6 hours on Wed to prepare. Love it. Keep me in your good thoughts and prayers. I'll try to keep you up dated.

Now I'm so glad I took pictures of clothes to pack. Will make t tomorrow easier. Bon voyage

  6. I usually pack a shorts outfit for every port day. Because of heat, tanks and shorter shorts than normal. Couple of long skirts and tops, black pants and top or tops. Bright capris and tops is usually what I wear around the ship.2or3 suits and a couple of cover ups. If I'm wearing a suit off the ship, I usually bring an extra. Hate putting on a wet suit. I have pewter sandals that I wear to dinner. They go with everything. My walking sandals, pool flips, and tennis shoes if I'm doing ropes course, zip lining, or hiking excursions. Sounds like allot, but it's not. 40 lb or under. My shoes go in carryon so my checked luggage passes weight requirement.

  7. My family has departed. The men had a good time with a win at Notre Dame. Now it's washing sheets and towels. I'm kind of embedded embarrassed to say that I haven't unpacked yet. It's a suitcase full of summer clothes. Not much use here. I have the company as Aden excuse and further recovery-right?[emoji5]

I will not put it off any longer. Things to be pressed, others to be washed and re-packed. Leaving home on the 23rd.. Need to get busy.

  8. SunnyDayGirl: I'm so sorry to hear you were sick while traveling - nothing worse than being sick away from home. I loved the dress and shawl on you! What a beautiful color and handsome grandson!!

Indiana71: I'm so sorry you had to have dental work! I'm so glad you are healing quickly! I'm still envious of your cruise room. Work on my room has come to a halt as most of our resources are helping son #2 and our grandchildren through his divorce. But someday my cruise/travel room will be organized and finished!

I do like the clothing picture idea and can drop them into my excel spreadsheet. hmmm it's a thought . . . You all have such great ideas :D

I've been patted down for having a large clip (one of those with teeth) in my hair. They wouldn't let me take it out but patted me down and then felt up my head. Of course once they were through I had to take the clip out to fix my hair. Been patted down as well for leaving my cell phone in my back pocket - won't do that again! Good to know about sparkles on our clothing! Thank you SunnyDayGirl!

We leave for Hawaii in 3 weeks - the spread sheet is done and will sort & try on items on the list when I get home this weekend. It's not a cruise but it is time off!

So sorry to be so long winded!!!

Have a great time in Hawaii. One of my favorite places to visit.

Thanks for the compliments, he's a real cutie, and ornery!

  9. Just a fashion fyi. Sometimes when heading south on a plane I sometimes wear an outfit that's comfortable but I may have worn on a cruise. Well, make sure there's no sparkles on it! Twice now I've done just that and had to be patted down at security. Now I'm just darn stupid if I let it happen a third time.

  10. Hi ladies, thanks for all your kind wishes. I'm feeling better. Comfortable at my daughter's picture perfect home! Lol! Pitched right in as soon as I walked in the door. Was glad to see photographer leave tho. Needed a well earned nap.

As I was doing after cruise laundry,i hung things on hangers and took pictures, so much easier than making a list. I do think it'll make things much easier for this packing go round. I usually take things several times before it's replaced with something new. So just decided to go with same wardrobe. Completely different group and they'll be none the wiser. My straps worked perfectly alto my scarf was really beautiful. Can't wait to wear again.ImageUploadedByForums1443830971.653024.jpg.3ddde4453235e838697e42d18aed00d3.jpg
