  1. One small problem I see is the current smoking areas outside are actually very small and now you are adding more people to it. On my last cruise a few weeks ago, the area was standing room only on the nights the casino was non-smoking. One other potential issue is the ashtrays are not designed for cigar butts, or whatever they are called. I have been on carnival ships,  where the ashtrays are full of cigar butts and people try to put out cigarette butts out only to create a mess. Mostly in overnight hours when there is no cleaning crew.

  2. On the menus I looked at, after appetizers, but before Mains, is a pasta category. Can those be served as a main? I know that question may sound silly, on most of the menus I looked at, there was not a lot of mains that tripped my trigger.

  3. So today my app opened with my travel status complete, Green Lane, QR code and all. HOWEVER all of my husband's info was gone. OK. Re-enter. Except when you go to enter DOB, a calendar pops up that you have to swipe to get to correct date, and when you swipe, it only does one month at a time. He was born in 1951, so I had to swipe over 70 times to get to his DOB. Passport DOB was the same. Was of time.

Then I go to payment. I went to my profile to add him as a user, and there is no way to do it. No where to add users. So go back under him to put the cc number, and I get a message that the CC entered was already assigned to another account. So I had to enter a different card. How is this supposed to make things easier, having to manager 2 accounts?

I know I said I was done with the app. The reason I went in was to find the shore excursions I purchased yesterday. I did not get an email as proof of purchase, and now cannot find any documentation that I purchased them. Guess I will print a copy of my CC records.

  4. So after waiting for 1.5 hours on hold, because "my call was important" to them, I finally reached an agent that promptly transferred me to a "Navigator" specialist. I waited another 25 minutes on hold. My specialist had me uninstall / install to no avail. The second time they had me uninstall/ reinstall, it would not take my password, so I had to sign in with booking #. Still did not have all the info I had already put in. Tried chat, but that was not available. I kept trying while I was on hold.

I have decided to just bring every little bit of paperwork (booking/ payment summary) and just go to the port and not worry about it. After all this mess, I don't know if I really want to go. I have already been on 2 cruises.( Not with Princess) One, absolutely wonderful, and one not so much.  They can deny me, give me my money back, and I won't shed a tear at this point. Sorry I sound so down, but this is frustrating.

BTW, at 6:00pm, I got an e-mail saying my medallions were sent out to FedEx. Click here for tracking info. Clicked on the link where FedEx says there in no tracking number available... Just shaking my head. This is like Sharknado, keeps getting worse.

  5. 10 days ago I was able to choose my arrival group on the app.  App said Green lane. Yeah us. This morning I went in to see how many days were left. Now it says 20 days till sailing, and to complete my travel checklist? Clicked and my status is now blue, and the Personal Information, Medallion Pay, and Health status show not complete. When I click them, it says there are no journeys. Click the link a cruise button, and I get a message that my booking has already been claimed.

Is this normal? What happened to my green status?

  6. I always bring some small "Thank You"  cards to leave cash/ gift cards in. When I leave extra cash, I always leave a personal note with my appreciation.  They can then turn the card into their supervisor should they wish.

I smoke, as does my husband. One thing that we always do is tip the cleaning staff in public areas. It makes a big difference for my vacation that I am able to relax and not have overflowing ashtrays. We are not slobs, but sometimes they keep the "butt cans" behind the bars where I cannot get to. We always address the envelopes to them personally, along with our cabin number so they can turn it into their supervisor should they wish to advance,

  7. Would anyone have a copy of a typical menu that one can order from? At one time there was a "sample" menu on Princess.com, but now it only explains how the dining works. I am a picky eater and would like to know what to expect. I know when I travel with HAL I basically eat at the buffet every night, as they serve everything with sauces that they claim Must be served on the plate.

  8. That is perfect. In August we did CVS tests, and my test got lost. My husband got his results so we got into the car and drove from Tennessee to Port Canaveral for our sailing. Next morning, day of the cruise, nothing. Called CVS, and they gave me the # for LabCorp, who they were using. They showed no record of receiving my test. Had to scramble and drive to Orlando to pay $350 for a "results in 1 hour" test. Drive back to Port Canaveral to board. Needless to say I was not a happy camper. When we got off the cruise ship, in my inbox was an e-mail telling me my results were back, on the Tuesday after we left. (cruise was on the prior Sunday).

Next cruise we did the biMax with no problem. One note, on OptumStore website there is a note that the tests are only good through 12/31/2021 per FDA approval. I e-mailed to find out when/if new approved ones would be issued, and they said at this time they do not know if e-med has applied for new tests with FDA so the mobile testing may be a lifesaver come my January cruise.

  9. Is pre-boarding PCR/Antigen testing available, for purchase  at the Ft. Lauderdale cruise terminal in case you do not get you test results back in time to board?

I have the bi-max home kit, however I have to use HughesNet internet that I know is sometimes spotty. I need a backup plan in case internet goes down. (goes down sometimes when it is raining)

    Thank you.

  10. I booked a 7 day cruise, then added the next week to make a back to back. Travel summary shows 2 trips with 2 confirmations codes. The app shows a 14 day.  So do I fall under 7 & 7 or 14?

I wish the honchos that run Carnival, Princess and Holland would take a cruise on Royal Caribbean to see how pleasurable cruises can be during these times. They have vaccinated areas where masks are not required. Vaccinated folks are given a wristband, and masks are optional in most lounges, in the casino, and most lounges as they are for vaccinated people only. If you are traveling with children that cannot get vaccinated, you are considered unvaccinated,  They do have people that roam throughout the ship to enforce. Very enjoyable. Then we went on Carnival... all I can say is that we cancelled future bookings. I am hoping that whatever the policy is at the time we board, it is enforced.

  11. It has been a long time since we have cruised with Princess, so I have some questions I have been unable to find answers to. Some of it has to do with the medallion, and some are just general. Hope you guys can help. We are on the Caribbean Princess Nov 28-Dec 10.

1- When will boarding times be available? Hope to get on late afternoon.

2- What do people wear in the dining rooms? Not what you hope people wear, but what do they wear? Will shorts/jeans be allowed? Not for formal nights.

3- Are you allowed to bring canned sodas aboard?

4- I purchased a wristband for my medallion. Will I be able to reuse for future cruises?

    Thanks
