  1. Thanks for the great review and pictures, we are going on a land tour in a few weeks, a bit different itinerary and it is not a connissure tour , so we will be doing the food thing on our own , your comments are very helpful. We have one tour included and need to pick and choose the others. After seeing your pictures we are even more excited to go.

    Thank You.....

  2. No problem - and whichever way you decide, please come back and tell us why that one was best for you; it may help future visitors weigh their options better.

Sure , I will report back after the cruise, I am thinking the City Passport because it gives you several options for 2 for 1 price tickets to several venues, and a Hop on Hop off Trolley option as well. Only thing I am wondering about is that I don't see the Stanly Park trolley ( the one that goes through the park) listed on the trolley site anymore, only the bus , I think they may have discontinuned the trolley , and that would make a differance for us, since we plan on spending some time there. We will be in Vancouver for 3 days and plan on getting either the 2 day trolly or 2 day bus pass, we will be able to use those easily. So many things to see and do , that we want to make good use of our time in Vancouver. Thanks again.

  3. My husband is not a Starbucks person , but likes just plain good coffee, and the syrup stuff they serve just isn't very good, So I was thinking of ordering a coffee card online at Princess in the gift area for him before we go , has anyone done that is it in your cabin when you board , or is there no advantage to doing that.

  4. Cori: I already told you what I did with my wheelie on the train. You don't handle your large luggage; they deliver it to you at your next hotel.

Thank you Pia: We will have to manage with one wheelie between us, and a small back pack each. Thanks for the info. I am a planner and get stressed when I am not sure what I need to do. :)

  5. On a tour right now. Reverse of yours. They will bring 1 suitcase per person. Delivered to your lodge each night. Excess luggage waiting at the end of tour. You can have 1 carryon each (I see many with purse/camera bag in addition). Would suggest backpack or smaller carryon. Not much space to keep with you. I did see driver putting wheels bags under bus. Haven't done train yet. Post any questions and I will try to answer. Cruise views breathtaking btw.

Thanks for posting , I would be interested to know what they do with the wheeled luggage on the train, a back pack is not very much space for clothing on a 6 day land tour. Especially since my husband is 6'6" tall . Please post what you find out.

  6. Hi , we are also doing a land tour prior to the cruise. There is a page on the Princess web site that explains about the luggage thing. My understanding is that we can each have one carry on piece ( like air travel) plus one personal piece, a purse or backpack , that sort of thing (that will fit under the seat) for the bus travel between the stops. As for the train , I think we can only bring the personal item (backpack size) on with you. Perhaps they have luggage car ?? I don't know , this will be our first time on a land tour. However I did see where you can have a larger piece of luggage that they hold for you until you board the ship. I hope someone who has been on the land tours , responds to your question , so we will know what we are suppose to do. Thanks for posting the question.

  7. Hi , I can relate to your problem. I am currently dealing with PF and it's no fun. I had it before in both feet (many years ago , and was able to be rid of it for a long time). I am seeing a specalist and starting my PT tomorrow. Faithfully doing my streching excersizes. I went out and got a new pair of New Balance with good support , am hopeing that I will be doing much better soon. It is hard to keep up with my 2 yr old granddaughter and 4 year old grandson when I am limping around. I know I am going to need to ware the not so cute shoes on our land tour before our next cruise in Sept. and just keep the cute shoes for around the ship. Oh well , at least I will be cruising. :)

  8. My husband is trying the cherry tabs now, we just returned from a weekend driveing trip and he was on his feet quite a bit and his ankles swelled up , so as soon as we got home he started the cherry tabs , 2 a day, I will let you guys know if it helped or not. HOpe it helps , we have two cruises and a land tour planned in Sept. with a stop mid cruises at another port ,and I am worried about his legs swelling , really be great if these cherry tabs work for him.

  9. Always happy to learn that things have worked out for someone. Hope you have a great visit to our city and a wonderful cruise. Don't forget to wave to me as you sail by my home, I am about an hour after you sail under the Lions Gate bridge on the starboard side.

It's a deal , look for us coming in on the Coral 9/25/13 and leaving on the Sapphire 9/28/13.

Just put a yellow ribbion on the old oak tree and we will see it :) , we will wave and wish you well.

  10. Putterdude and martincath: Thanks so much for all the great information , I am takeing notes and makeing lists, it will make it so much easier for us to find our way around with all the information you gave us. I did not see the online menu on the web site, but will check it out , I was just going by what I saw on TripAdvisor, the person that wrote the review had stayed there many times.

It is good to hear that the hotel is at a good location and that it is a nice place, we bid on a 4 star hoping for a good result, I know that can go either way.

I did go on google last night and brought up a map for dining locations etc. and the map was so full of dots that it was impossible to see what I was looking for, but both of your comments make it more clear and very helpful. Thanks so much.

And putterdude I think you were on the other thread I posted "couldn't book" and tried to help me out there also , as you can see we went with plan B and reorganized , so it is working out ok.

  11. Sorry I did not read all the posts on this thread, there are a lot of them :). We just booked the Delta Vancouver Suites for 3 days between cruises. We booked on Hotwire and the Delta is what we got. I put in Downtown location, hoping that it would have a good location for exploring and close to Canada Place Cruise terminal, I checked the comments on trip advisor and they gave good reviews. Just wondering where from the hotel do we go to get the HoHo trolley ? and is there a convenience store near if we need to replenish some things for the second cruise ? Also from the trip advisor comments the inhouse restaurants are a bit pricey, is there more moderatly price eating near there.

Sorry for all the questions , do appreciate any input , we have not been to Vancouver before. Thanks for your help.

  12. I post on this thread a while back . My DH was going to try the cherry tab. but right when he was going to try them , something else happened , so he has not tried them yet. But we did go on a cruise and I took a case of water with us for him. And he drank that, he did not get really swollen legs and ankels, the cruise was through the canal and I thought he would have a problem, but he did not this time. At one point they swelled a little , but then he used the compression hose (he always uses them when we fly) for a couple nights and he was ok. Weather or not this was the answer , taking along a case of water. Don't know just thought I would post , in case it can help any one else. And he is still going to try the cherry tab. I have some now and when we notice any swelling he is going to try it here at home first. I know it is a very uncomfortable problem , and I do worry about him when it happens. And yes we have seen his Dr. about it.

  13. I have read some of the other threads about the "What to and Not to Bring" , but I do usually learn something new each time. Last time the little suction cup hooks for the shower were mentioned (beacause the cord thingie in the shower never really works right, and always sag down) to hang up swimwear , etc. I took a small package of them, they were great. and I just removed them to go home, no harm no foul. And after reading the new thread about using a surge protector, that is going to be a must for me next time. Many of the items on the lists I don't take, but a few make it into our luggage. To each their own.

  14. HI for me, the ships water is fine, but my husband needs the bottled water so his feet and legs don't swell, so we just get a case of 24 or 32 bottles and tape it up good and put a luggage tag on it and they load it just like a suitcase, works fine. We did not know if the bottled water would help my husband with the swelling problem , but this last cruise we tried it and it made a difference for him. Who knows everyone is different.

  15. This is one of the first places I come once I've booked a cruise -- just loads of valuable, clever ideas :) One of my favorites, that I've used repeatedly, is the collapsable shoe rack that hangs in the closet -- for years we've been travelling with 2 adults/2 children in one cabin and this turned out to be a huge help; the kids claimed all the actual "drawers" in the cabin, so the adults put all our folded clothes in the shoe rack "shelves".

I love the idea of the suction cups for the bathroom -- never seems like there's enough room to hang wet suits, or the ones that are hung in the shower need to be removed when someone wants to use it. This seems much more convenient.

    Keep 'em coming! :)

OOOHH: thanks , why hadn't I thought of that, I am gonna go out and get some tomorrow.
