We don't use the luggage tagholders, just seal the tags after you fold them with clear packing tape you can get most anywhere. Punch a hole in the end where it says staple and attach with sturdy zip ties. Works great. Have a great cruise.

Yes we have had our luggage arrive late and had to wear what we boarded the ship in. But no worries, everyone is really casual the first night . But if your lucky your luggage we arrive early and you will have your choice of what to wear. Just have a good time.

Just read the entire thread and posts , really neat ideas , looks great. Just wish I had the space to do this , I have two spare rooms (guest rooms, sewing room, ) upstairs but both closets are full of crafting stuff, and the stuff my son left ( for storage) when he moved out, so hopefully he will be able to move some of the stuff out, then I can try to do your project also. You did a great job.

OK sorry , but I guess I am the first... Daughter just got home today ( Crown Princess) it was one of if not the first ship to use the new pier, and there were problems with the gangway , could not get it down when they arrived , took quite a while , and when they left port there were problems getting it back up. Both the passanger gangway and the crew gangway . But Daughter says other than that it was ok, the Captain came over the speaker both times and explained the issue, so that was good. He told everyone at the Captains Circle meet the night before that they would be using the new pier. So not really a complaint , just a little hiccup..

My daughter just got off the Crown this morning, the movies that she said they had:
Godzilla 2014, Million Dollar Arm, Captain America, The Winter Soldier,
The Fault in our Stars, Malificent , and Mama Mia
Hope this helps

Thanks for the information on the $ for water taxi , we are going in a couple weeks, if I find it to be different I will post when I return.

I recently picked up two nice Ricardo Zero Gravity light weight carry on size bags, soft side spinners with the extra pockets at our local Costco , you might want to check them out. I think they were about $49 each and from what I have seen in stores , for the size , good price. Hope you find what you need. My large spinner for checked luggage is a Samsonite, love it. I agree for european travel and uneven surfaces the spinners even the two wheelers are not the best, but for other travel , the spinners work really well for us.

From the news today:
http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/world/58238576-68/skin-cancer-tanning-health.html.csp
As someone who has had a friend pass away painfully from melanoma, a plea to please be responsible and cover up and use sunscreen and never, ever, use a tanning bed...
Thank you for posting this, I have already had Melanoma surgery once and am rechecked every three months, growing up we thought tan was the best, now I know better. Please be smart and careful yourself and your familys. God Bless

Question please: is there a water taxi stop close to the cruise port( Princess docks), we will be on a back to back cruise in Oct, and the water taxi would be fun for our turn around day.

Got a blue Bagallini at Ross this past week , love it. I got another one about a month ago and what is great about them both is I can fit my Kindle Fire in them, and they take little or no room in my suitcase. Love these bags

We enjoyed a shorter B2B cruise experience. While the turnaround day in Fort Lauderdale isn't the best, we did enjoy being able to get off the ship and heading over to Total Wine to replenish our cabin. We only bought the two bottles we were allowed for the second leg.
We took the 10-day cruise to Princess Cays, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados, and St. Kitts several years ago. A couple we met were on their fourth leg out of six that they were doing. They did not mind going to the same ports over and over again or the repeats of menus. The wife was a great info source on the menus, giving us her recommendations for lunch and dinner. They were spot on.
how far is total wine from the port ? taxi ? We are doing a b to b in Oct. would like to do that.

Wish that there was a spot on the personalizer where you could put special request for one.

My husband is 6'6" and we have been on many cruises , the beds are shorter than ours at home , but he manages fine. The showers are a challange, the mini suite showers are bigger since they are usually also a tub, so that might help. HOpe it all works out fine.

Thanks Cori...........it's been 14 years since we tendered last, in Granada. Can you remember how many tenders they have operating........and is it a wait in line or do they have a pick a time slot type of system?
It is just like Janice said in her post. It will say in the patter and be announced which dinning room to go to for your tender tickets, just go early.... Then when you go back to the ship play it safe and get to the dock area at least 45 min. To 1 hour prior to sailing, might be a long line but as long as you are there on time they will get you on the tender. Have a great time Santa Barbara is a lovely place. Enjoy.

Good info folks........we tender into Santa Barbara on the Crown Princess in October and plan to DIY walk around town.......so will plan on the hour or more getting back on before ship leaves.
I assume it's a waiting game with everyone wanting to board a tender to the shore?
WE tendered into Santa Barbara last Oct. and the tender line getting off was LONG and the tender line getting back on was even LONGER. Also there was a huge line for the shuttle bus that tools around the area , we just walked down and then went to the pier area with the restaurants and shops , also the beach there is very nice . We live in LA so we had been there many times , so it was a fine option for us.

We will be going to the Caribbean this year also , and I plan on taking bug spray with deet along. I have read the boards here re some of the islands mentioned and the comments were that the cruisers had not seen any mossies or had any bites. But I agree that keeping the balcony doors closed is a good idea. But we still plan on going.

I have not been on a Costa ship, but I do like a promenade deck , always enjoy walking the deck and being out there in the shade, when we go through the P canal we always spend some time out there for a close up look, wish Princess would go back to the regular promenade deck.

Thanks so much for a great fair and balanced review. Our Bro in Law and Sis in Law always go Holland America and tell us how much better it is than Princess (which they have not sailed on..) , so this is helpful to know that it is pretty much a wash , as we thought it would be. We still prefer Princess, we are Platinum working our way toward Elite.

Thanks to the OP for this thread, hope they got "whatever" fixed. We won't be on the ship for a couple months , hope everyone onboard now is doing good and having a good cruise.

Using a Retirement Account to Buy 100 Shares of Carnival Stock
in Princess Cruises
Posted
Our shares are in our 401 Retirement acct. few years ago we just called our broker and asked him to purchase 100 shares, we had a little fee but he then purchased us another 100 shares when the Concordia incident happened, it pays a dividend and if you are in it for the long term the flucuations in the market don' affect you too much, after all they always say deversify, so it is just part of the portfolio. Hope it works out for you , it is a nice Princess perk to have.
