  1. OK , I thought Brookes gown was ok, slit was a bit to high . I liked Carrie Anns dress, on her it looked good, but it takes a special type of person to carry it off. I am not a fan of Elizabeth, BUT , the wrong person went home, Why is Bill still there, they really need to change the whole voteing system.

I like Amber , but I think they grade her a bit high .

REally , why is Corbin even in this group , he has even been on Broadway they mentioned, so putting him in against people with no experience is just dumb.

I am surprized that Jack has done so well , for a larger man , he moves quite nicely across the floor.

As you can probably tell , I might not be watching next season if it is more of the same.

I like to watch for the fashion and the dancing, I don't care for the comedy routines that get put in the dances.

  2. So very sorry for your loss , you are in our thoughts and prayers. Am sorry you were treated in such and uncareing fashion, really a awful way to be treated , asked to leave your wifes side at such a difficult time. You can see that you have the support of those here at CC boards, and we wish you comfort and peace.

  3. Just on a ship a month ago with a fairly large group, the problems were in the dining rooms , they were anytime dining , and they took over whole sections of the dining rooms , and anyone who was not in there group that happen to be seated near them , well it was uncomfortable, they table hopped, etc. Also in the buffet area in the mornings and afternoons they would tie up entire sections of the seating, would seat one or two people there and then just tell anyone else the seats were taken, and the staff could do nothing about it. I have been on other cruises with pretty large groups and had no problems , but this group , well not exactly a comfortable experience. But we said nothing , as nothing really could be done to change it . So from now on , I am going to do my reseach prior to booking and do my best to keep checking , and hopefully not be on a ship with a large group in the future.

  4. My husband just has a Hawaiian shirt he uses to go to and from the pool, and for shore excursions he has a pair of loose shorts to use over the swim suit, or board shorts. On our last cruise a little over a month ago there was a couple that used the room robes that you get in your stateroom , you know the white waffle ones, well they looked pretty out of place, but to each there own. As long as they were having a good time. Who is anyone to judge another persons choices.

  5. I do agree with Lois about the show being "fixed" or set up to a certain extent. But what galls me the most is having one or two who are really great dancers with training, and the rest who are rather klutzy. Personally, I would much prefer to see all the contestants with equal talent, or lack thereof, who compete on the basis of who progresses the most each week. I would find that much more interesting than having a show with 10 untalented and two ringers.

    I agree completely.

  6. In the Royal theater, the side isles are gone. The seats seemed the same to me as other ships, but the leg room is less. There are no trays for drinks, but I didn't notice waiters taking orders. There is a much larger section for handicapped on the top left side.

In the Vista Lounge, the seating is quite cramped. Very comfortable seating but very little leg room again. Once seated, you pretty much stay till the end in both venues.

Thanks for the response to my question Brandee, the seating and leg room is an issue for us , my husband is 6'6" and to have to deal with the smaller spaces is not good for us. Thanks for the response.

  7. I am a fluffy lady , and my only comment would be try it on and remember if you actully plan on going in the water and swimming ( I do) be aware a skirt will float up on you in the water and is really drippy and sloppy wet coming out of the water , you almost have to wring it out, which is not to flattering. But if you don't actually plan on going in the water and just want it for sun bathing or just sticking your feet in the water it won't matter.

  8. I also liked Brookes gown , it is one of the nicer ones this season. I think the wrong person when home again , I like Bill, but he is not the dancer that most the others are, but like Lois said , it is the voters that are keeping him there. I really don't have a big favorite , but I just can't seem to like Elizabeth, why , I can't say , just does not do it for me. Amber is doing pretty well, but I don't think this week was her best dances. I think that Corbin has a big advantage over the others, and for that matter Elizabeth as well, they both have experience, so it is not a level playing field to begin with. I DVR it so I can watch it later, so I fast forward a bit when it get slow. Have a good week all.l

  9. Thank You for your review, very interesting. I do have a question. Are the seats in the theater smaller in size than the previous Princess ships ? and did they take out the side isles in the theater ? The lack of a deck 7 promanade and the aft pool area as well as the smaller balcony size I think would make a difference to us. Have not been on the Royal as yet and knowing these things would come into our decision to book it or not. Thanks so much for a balanced review.

  10. Did not care for Brooks dress , reminded me of Morticia Adams , the whole see through thing was overdone. I was not a fan of Snookie , but I do think the wrong person went home, his fan base is bigger I guess. I also liked the Spooky Bom Bom group dance better, my daughter said that as well, but I am not a dancer so it might have been the technical points were more for The Fox group. I have watched the "What does the Fox say " youtube before , it is pretty funny , not my choice of music , but definitely different. I think Amber really does well. And I agree about Elizabeths eyes, my daughter mentioned that a couple weeks ago already. Elizabeth can't help that , but it is noticiable isn't it.

We will see what happens next week , should be interesting.

  11. RE: the show last night , only saw parts of it. I don't remember what Brookes gown looked like , so it must not made much of an impression. Was surprized when no one went home, but the reasoning seemed fair. I think that the judges are being somewhat generous with the scores this season , but I am not a dancer so perhaps I am wrong. I do like the new format better , not as much interviewing of the dancers, more of the danceing, which I like. Hope all is well with everyone. Have a good week.

  12. Hi Cori:)...I had no idea!....geeezzz......people should be able

to practice whatever they want without being bullied:eek::mad:......I didn't

realize the folks in the "Scientology" arena were so judgmental.....glad I

am not part of that group.

I guess Tom Cruise's ex got out while the getting was good, she must have not cared for that lifestyle eithere , especially for her daughter, can't say I blame her.

The more I hear about that group , the less I like it.

  13. Hi, Lois:)

Yes, that's her name. Leah Remini. I'm sure after she's voted off he'll stop watching.;)

My daughter read and saw on TV that Leah has been going through a hard time, she left Scientology and they really are giving her a hard time, she had been part of it for a long time and decided she did not want to live her life that way anymore and broke free from it. And they have made it pretty difficult for her. That might explain some thinking she has an attitude, I think she is brave to buck the Hollywood trend, takes guts.

  14. Hi all: We just got back a few days ago from a lovely month long vacation. Enjoyed it all. I have done a quick DVR recap of the DWTS I had recorded, well so far I am not so impressed, I don't have a favorite as yet, but I do have to say I like the one night format better. I read through all your posts and thanks for all the information to help me get updated on the show.

  15. Just got back from our cruises, which we spent 4 days in Vancouver. We stayed downtown, easy walk to Gastown, and uptown both, near enough to the Art Museum, and a block from the Big Bus hop on hop off stop. Was our first visit to Vancouver , and we really enjoyed our time there. Plan to return for a longer stay. Really nice city, friendly people, lots to see and do.

  16. Hi , we are one this cruise also, we have been to some of the ports, but not Victoria , so we have scheduled tour there. We have been to San Fran many times , my sister use to live there, lots to do there, and Santa Barbara is only a couple hours from our home( we are only about 20 minutes from the port of San Pedro ), it is a lovey town, and there is always the Mission there if you like that sort of thing, we are going to the little zoo they have , you will enjoy Santa Barbara. Astoria , we hope to do the trolley to town (if we can get on). and Seattle we have been all over downtown and seen all the sight before , so we are doing the wine country tour there, look forward to seeing some outer areas. This should be a very nice relaxing cruise, good time to be lazy. :)

  17. The luggage porters are at the curb at Canada Place. To the left of the vehicle ramp down into Canada Place you will see a pedestrian walk that will take you to the luggage porters. If arriving by taxi then you will be let out near the porters and your luggage will be taken from you by them. You can go thru the Pan Pacific but that is going out of your way. As for tipping, you will see signs that tipping is not required but that is up to you. We normally tip $2 per check bag rounded to the nearest $5.

Thanks Putterdude , that is the information I needed.

Appreciate it. Yes , we ususally do $2 per bag and up if it is a larger bag as well.
