  2. Thank you so much for this! We are going on Escape in six months. This is our fourth NCL cruise but first on Escape. Your reviews are so detailed that I feel like I was watching it happen and not just reading about it! Thanks again! -Staci

You are most welcome. We are returning, as you must know by now, for the third time in nine months to complete The Trilogy. We will wrap it all up in just about three weeks from now. Stay tuned.

  4. They Sky does 3-day and 4-day cruises every week (this is it's regular schedule) with an open bar for all passengers. The 3-day cruise goes to Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau. The 4-day goes to Great Stirrup Cay, Nassau, and Grand Bahama. This is no longer the case. Please update your information to your clients. Since getting authorization to sail to Cuba, a few [ ALL ] of the 4-day cruises are going there.

The Sky has a small steamroom and sauna (free) in the men's and woman's locker rooms.

If you take a look at the revised sailing schedule for The Norwegian Sky on the NCL website, you will see that ALL 4 night Mon-Fri Norwegian SKY sailings from May through December 2018 are sailing to Cuba. Take your pick. The Sky is the place for All-You-Can-Drink Cuba Tropicana Party Babeeee!

  5. 2 pools. 1 family pool and 1 adult pool on deck 16.

Yes, I know that. I have described them all in The JW and Jerome's Adventures.

But since Tom and Cheryl, Jerome and Myself are adults usually traveling without children, I omitted the one pool that we would not ever use. But the fact remains, they should have included the 3rd pool in Spice H2O, as originally planned, and which is also on The EPIC, instead of the "Water Grotto" which is useless, except when feeling romantic, late at night ;p

  6. Tom & Cheryl..............(revised after posting: Oops, I read the signature line of dlynn0366 thinking it was you both and she is sailing on the 18th of March, not you guys, what a boob I am)

I can't believe it. We are on the March 25th sailing of The Escape. Let us know what cruise you choose, we would love to sail with you! THAT would be An Adventure!

I hope you enjoy The DOS on The Escape and the Huuuuuuuge Casino. As you know, Jerome and I are sailing our third time in 9 months on The Escape, March 25th to complete the Trilogy of "The Adventures", we really love it, especially the Casino. The only drawback with the Haven on the Escape vs the other ships is that there are so many more "Family" Suites up there and on the last two sailings (June 2016 and August 2016) the central Haven pool and hot tubs were filled with lots of little children, should I say, Noisy little children, and babes in diapers in the shallow end of the water features. It was a realization to the increased Family type accommodations in the Haven. But the only issue on the Escape for us at all, is the pool situation. The main pool is shoulder to shoulder and there is no Spice H2O pool, only a water feature. 4,200 folks and one main pool.

But, what am I saying, you have your own water feature in your gorgeous DOS Haven Suite! Although if we know you, there will be no time for pools, only time for the Casino, just like JW. We get so much more on Norwegian and are much happier with the CAS Perks vs Carnival products.

I'll Write Everything Down Until We Reconvene, Because It's Now Only THIRTEEN, My Little Mexican Jumping Bean, Days Until Our Cruise, 13 Days To Go Until The Trilogy Is Complete and We Sail-A-Way on

    The Norwegian Es-Cah-Pay!!!.."

  8. I believe Tom (AHD on Escape last year) is no longer with NCL.

As of right now thru March, on The Escape, Jovo is the Hotel Director. Deepak is the F&B Director. Kvanc is on another ship, but I do not know which one. Adrian was to leave as Concierge, to join the Joy in Europe, the first Saturday in March, but I have no idea if that happened. You know so much is touch and go with the new ship coming online. We will be on The Escape in two weeks and I will report back here who was on the ship and who is expected to be on the ship thru May, if they know.

  9. Dear JW, some words from a fan from Brazil: you are awesome. Keep going, keep cruising keep having the time of your life.

I only cruised one time on Carnival sensation on September 2000. I didn't have a great time in that ship that's why since then I didn't have the will to cruise again.

, however I have been following the creation of these new mega ship and made me curious. So I decided to have my first time solo trip and solo cruise. I'll travel to Miami the day before the cruise on 2nd June, despite all the worries if my family.

    I'm 42 years old I'm not single but I'll travel solo. I don't care.

Your reviews a out the Escape are fabulous. They helped me a lot to understand what would be expected in this cruise.

Wish you and your bae the best.

Thank you so very much for kind compliments. We were on the Carnival Sensation about the same time you were, and we still have a fondness for her as she is a small ship. The Sensation, with only one main dining room, has such intimate surroundings and even though she is a tiny tug boat compared to these new Mega Monsters of the Seas, she still holds her own pretty well.

I am glad you are giving cruising another try. I believe you will have a blast traveling solo on The EPIC, The Breakaway, The Getaway, The Escape or The Bliss. No one does solo travel like Norwegian and it is almost a virtual guarantee you will have fun and come off being very, very happy.

Please continue to enjoy our story as you read on here, as I will be completing the Trilogy starting April 2nd, when we have returned from our third Norwegian Escape Cruise. I also look forward to hearing about your adventure in June.

  10. Ahhh so jealous! What I wouldn't give for a week in Vibe (will you be going for the pass again this time?). That is basically where I was able to make my friends as a solo traveler. Also had an infamous/shameful story from there that is mostly made up...

We are certainly going to try for it. But with the new boarding procedures, we will have to chance it as we are Gold (Knocked down a few notches as this cruise would have given us Platinum, but now have to sail once more for Platinum) and we are also CAS, so we shall see.

I would love to have been there for the shameful made up story and I would have told it here~

  11. They actually moved my start date up to March 13th! One great thing though is that I start with 3 weeks of paid vacation (PLUS the holidays!). Also so glad to not be at a place where I have to worry about billable hours like my other law school classmates!

Really think about the Bliss in October JW :D ! I wish I had more flexibility to check out other cruise lines but since I am a #foreveralone I am basically limited to NCL for now :/

We are literally booked for the year, and we purposely timed our next cruises to coincide with our 50th cruise on The MSC Seaside. That sailing is going to be an Adventure unto it's own!

This upcoming "Triple Play Trilogy" Norwegian Escape Sailing of ours is going to complete our review series and allow us to rate the Restaurants, Service, Casino, Entertainment, Amenities and of course, The Martini's over the past nine months. This way, the fun will continue on and on for everyone else. All of the little tidbits that we have picked up over these last three sailings will all be written about and we can continue the conversation with all of our cruise enthusiasts!

Just nineteen days till the third Bon Voyage on the Escape. It feels like we are coming home!

  12. So the good news is I got the job! The bad news is that they want me to start March 20th so looks like I can't go on the cruise! I can't wait to read the final chapter though!

So Happy you got a new job! Yay! But there is a way you could still come with us........It's a new virus, only lasts a week, it's called the Ocean Blues or the Wave Flu because it comes in like waves. :halo:

I hope you cruise with you on one of our Adventures!

    JW

  13. I can't see the picture on the first page either.

Man you are really making me want to book your cruise! I have an interview Tuesday so we will see what happens with that. They have taken over two months to schedule this so I am not sure what the turn around AFTER the interview will look like.

Your website sounds great! I hope it ends up benefiting you guys somehow since you graciously do these reviews. I never finished my Escape review and I feel like somewhat of a jerk for that.

Also I really think you guys should try and get on Bliss for her inaugural season :p probably should do the 8 day Mexican Riviera in October. TheDougOut is booked on that one and I bet the internet would explode if you also booked! :o

We should be going on the Bliss, but we also learned a really long time ago, wait for a while to sail on a brand new ship. It's at premium rates because it's new, and if we sail to early, we get to be guinea pigs while things go awry. Friends were on the Inaugural of The Harmony of The Seas in Europe last summer, and the ship should have been renamed The Mutiny of the Seas with all the situations that were occurring and the passengers rebelling while underway. The ship was so unprepared to sail but did it anyway. The same thing happened to us on The Celebrity Reflection Inaugural, The Carnival Holiday, Jubilee and Celebration Inaugurals (boy are we old), and The Norwegian EPIC Inaugural "Season" sailing(our most disastrous cruise ever).

The Bliss will be something to look forward to and it does have such varied itineraries in it's first season, and since Norwegian has done this plenty of times already with the BA/GA/ES, most of the kinks should be worked out before she sails.

  14. On our June 2016 and August 2016 sailing as well as a confirmation from friends sailing just last week, in addition to Cagney's, O'Sheehans offers an All You Can Eat Prime Rib on two nights. The first and forth nights. Both nights O'Sheehans is packed and the Prime Rib is awesome.

Don't miss out on The Seafood Buffet, as it is also quite amazing and so unexpected, and not well attended.

We are on The Escape for the third time in nine months, March 25th, to complete the Trilogy Review of the JW and Jerome's Adventures and will have a comprehensive restaurant detailed description from all three of our sailings.

It is ingenious of Norwegian to have O'Sheehans do the Prime Rib on the first night, as it filters folks from the other restaurants and many folks are weary from traveling or enjoying the UBP that first day and it is a welcome, casual offering.

In our opinion, The Prime Rib is excellent and tasty. I really enjoyed dipping fries into the au jus. Yum, can't wait to do it again in 24 days!

For other restaurant offerings, here is a current and comprehensive list of menus for all the venues on The Escape:

  15. Dina, forget about contacting the event coordinator. Here's the email I just received back when I requested a Mimosa Breakfast assist.

"Cruise critic meetings are offer on the first sea day during the morning. In regards of a Mimosa or sparkling wine party with no food $27.14 per person Labor costs will apply at a rate of $10.00 per waiter & $10.00 per bartender per hour. The party needs to be pre pay prior to sailing once we provide confirmation.

At our meet and greet just a couple of months ago, we had coffee, tea, assorted juices and danish. Plus all the Officers joined us. In addition, many of us brought our bottles of sparkling wine to the Meet and Greet and we enjoyed Mimosa's. The bar, by the way, was open as well, and many folks had Bloody Marys or shots of Baileys with coffee.

  16. I just wish I knew where all our pictures went on this thread. All of the wonderful Officers and Crew of Norwegian on both sailings were featured, as well as my humorous pics. Ever since the change over to the new format, the pics are all gone. Unless it's just my server. Is the pic of the crew appearing on the first page of this review on anyone's screen?

Here are the pics of the Officers from Escape 1, June 2016 and Escape 2, August 2016
