  1. i was so disappointed about the sold out cruises as well. However, now that I have read and researched the possible tours, I am very confident that we are doing the best possible choice. The biggest challenge was Pearl Harbor as hubby is a vet and really wants to go there. Most of the "tours" are not providing you a tour of Pearl Harbor....they are giving you transportation and tickets to the Arizona memorial and some directions. We purchased a tour through Viator that will pick us up at the Pier and provide tickets to the Arizona Memorial and it is at an appropriate time considering the timing for the ships arrival. You can also take an uber/taxi/bus to Pearl Harbor and do it yourself as long as you have the tickets to the Arizona if that is your choice. Those tickets can be directly purchased online and they are only released 60 days prior to the date.....if you decide to do it this way. Viator is less $$$ that the Princess tours for the same tour
  2. That is good news since we have a lot of onboard credit. I see now that we have never pre-booked excursions in the past so that's how I missed this tid bit of info. Thank you. Those excursions for Hawaii are $$$$
  3. I just reserved 2 tickets for a whale watch in Hawaii in April. I was offered the option to use my onboard credits or cash, which surprised me. I didn't think that you could use onboard credits until you were actually on the cruise. Has this changed?? Thanks for your help
  4. Does anyone know which company Princess uses for its' whale watches out of Lahaina, Maui? Is it Pacific Whale Eco Adventures? Thanks in advance
  5. Is it an easy walk from the tender area for Princess in Lahaina to the Pac Whale Foundation boats?
  6. Last week I spent about 3 hours going through all of the available options for health and cancellation insurance. Hubby is a Veteran and uses the VA and I use Blue Cross plus Medicare. I chose the Princess Platinum because we wanted to be able to use the CFAR function. But, the Princess insurance for medical is a bit puny and maxes out at $20,000 per person. So, I am using an additional insurance for medical and repatriation through American Express (Build you own policy) and this was only $64.00 for the 2 of us but gives us $100,000 of medical. We are doing a 2 week Hawaii cruise with a stop in Mexico so I wanted that additional medical for piece of mind. I read last week that the average hospital stay is 10,000 plus for 24 hours
  7. Last I kew these cost ?? $29.00 per person. Has that price gone up?? Thanks in advance
  8. Thanks for the above info. I spent a good deal of time reviewing all of the insurance info. We will get the Platinum Protection, however, I was surprised that includes a cap of $20,000 per person for medical. The average one nite hospital stay costs north of $11,000. Although my private insurance will cover some of a charge, I may supplement with another insurance package that is only for medical.
  9. I cannot find a section about insurance on the website for Princess. I have a cruise booked in March nd did not yet purchase anything. because we are "platinum" with Princess, is it still true that we receive "basic" insurance (we haven't cruised in a while). Thanks
  10. OK...I've got it...I went into Dine My Way on the app and found it there Next question...when I book dinner reservations at the specialty restaurants when do they charge me? My cruise is still 4 months away?
  11. So even though I am logged in to my cruise personalizer online on my computer, I have to do this on the app on my phone??????
  12. I tried to navigate to the appropriate area but I can't seem to locate it. I am not using the medallion but rather my home computer to look at my booking details. The cruise is not until March 2023...is it too early to book specialty dining?
  13. Here's a pix of the type of plug that you need for behind the bed. Todays modern CPAP automatically use either US or EU power but do check with your supplier. We add in a plug extender so that we can also plug in the bedside lamp. You can preorder distilled water under dietary requests on line
  14. As mentioned above, you will need and adaptor to plug into the outlet and we use a 3 port US socket to plug into that? I have a pix somewhere but can't find it
  15. On the Royal Princess, the minisuites all have outlets underneath the bed. Sometimes you have to do a little dive to find it but we have always found it there
  16. Can someone help me tp identify which port location Royal princess will use on April 2-3, 2023? Thanks in advance!
  17. Try sending this question on the Chat Feature at the Princess website or....see if you can find an ongoing post for FLL where the poster is actually on the ship...they can find out
  18. I doubt that we will use another either. It would be wonderful to find a terrific TA but that is tough as well
  19. I am not sure that we even want try for another PVP. She didn't say that she had "taken over" the booking but I have a feeling that this may be the case and that is really what's the big issue for me.
  20. I am looking for some input on my PVP and her behavior, and some insight as to the best way to handle this.. Several months ago, I called my PVP to get assistance in booking a cruise. There was no response. Over a period of 10 days I made 3 phone calls and left a VM with each. I also emailed twice and even found her FB page and sent a message with that app. No response to any of these. So we booked the cruise ourselves. This was about 2 months ago This week, I had a VM left by the same PVP and she is noting that she sees that we booked a cruise and that she is "still our PVP" and to contact her for any questions or future bookings. Is there a way to get rid of a PVP?? This behavior seems strange and I wonder if she is taking credit for this booking for financial gain? Your thoughts please. Thanks
