  1. As I recall, Campobasso is situated approximately half way between the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas and not quite as far south from Rome as Naples. Seeing the houses that my grand parents were born in the first time I went to Italy was one of the highlights of the trip for me as well as meeting the family.
  2. Think of having extra wide sidewalks. There are no true streets. Then when you get to a canal you will go up some steps, cross the canal on a bridge then go back down some steps. The Grand Canal is the equivalent of Main Street. The Rialto Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. Venice is such a unique place. The first time I walked out of the train station and saw the city I was truly awestruck. I hope you love it there as much as I do.
  3. That cabin looks huge and it seems that it must have a nice size balcony as well. What is the balcony furnished with? The closet also seems to be loaded with life vests.
  4. For starters, a ship cabin very frequently changes its GPS coordinates....
  5. It is 19°F here right now and they are talking about snow for the beginning of next week. Winter has decided to arrive.😡😡😡😡
  6. Well, since I don't sail during summer I likely won't be paying any attention at all. Though as I understand it the cruise lines do well when kids are out of school. It is when the kids are in school that the cruise lines had better be keeping the rest of us happy.
  7. Businesses can often be short sighted. They will chase a dollar today that ends up costing them 10 dollars next week.
  8. Well then, RCI seems to have it backwards. They are taking away features and increasing our costs.
  9. I am also a twice a day showerer when I'm someplace hot. I can't imagine that they would not provide extra towels if asked for. I need fresh towels for each shower and if by some chance a steward said no I'd be making a lot of noise. However, I don't foresee that happening.
  10. Or maybe it will backfire on you and you will have to pay more to be on that less crowded ship. They have to get money from someone.🙂
  11. Maybe.I guess we will know for sure when you feel that boot in your butt when walking down the gangway.
  12. I, personally, could give a crap about ice too. This isn't specifically about ice or about your or my personal preferences. But, once again, I suspect you already know this.
  13. Then who is it that filled the bucket twice a day back in the day? We never asked for ice it just appeared with twice a day cabin service. Then it was changed to just ask for it if you want it in the name of conservation... but then I suspect you already know all this.
  14. Since it had never really been the "job" of MDR staff to be filling ice buckets should the trail of people arriving with them plan on tipping per refill? Heck, from some posts that I've been reading they are having enough trouble just getting out in a timely manner. I can just picture tables in the MDR with ice buckets all over them waiting to be filled.😆
  15. It is interesting how what used to be part of routine service evolves into being considered extra. But then I guess this entire threat is about paying more for less and paying even more to get back some of what is being removed. It won't be long before people are writing that if you want two sets of towels a day then you should be tipping more for that evening set.
