  1. Hi,

my comment is the same. If my seapass card was programmed to open my cabin door as well as the DL door ...... and it worked well on both doors .....

Makes perfect sence to me. If my key can open the crown loft glass doors to get to my suite, then open my door, and also open the CL door, why can't they program them to do two rooms. Hum??

  2. I will be on the Oasis on the 11th of January. I'm interested in looking at the various categories of cabins. Does anyone know if there will be any cabin tours on this cruise?

Come join us on our roll call and sign up for the meet and mingle. We do have a "Cabin Crawl" planned, several of us have signed up to view or show our rooms. So far we have a crown loft suite, grand suite, junior suite, different types of balcony rooms.

  3. this is a bit confusing on the rci website. The "pink" id card is for military dependents and is used to show that you are qualified for military benefits. I have never heard of the id card being issued to a dependent of deceased unless the military member either died while on active duty or was retired. Being the widow of a veteran (who was not retired) will not get you the id card.

You can get more information at http://www.militaryonesource.mil/legal/individual-and-family-issues?content_id=268595

if you were qualified for an id card, it could be issued at any military base/post that issues id cards (also called a rapids site). You may find additional information at the dmdc site at https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/appj/dwp/index.jsp.

Edit: Actually, i think the "pink" card is issued to reserves. The blue one is for retirees and the beige one is for dependents (ad or retiree dependents). There used to be a green one for ad but they are now issued cac cards instead.

Edit2: See here for list of the different cards: http://www.cac.mil/uniformed-services-id-card/

  4. This up coming cruise on the Oasis is our first military discount in all of our RCCL cruises, and it was a savings of over $2000.00 so we jumped on it when we saw it. It soon went up, and I have been looking several times a week and it hasn't been as cheap as what we got our suite for. I always check military, senior, and FL to see if we can get any kind of deal, some times we get a senior rate. Good luck and snatch it up if you find a good rate!

  5. Wow, like they say everyone has different taste and opinions. I've done a few Carnival cruises and to me the ships look like disco's with all the neon lights. The food I agree was better, the suites are terrible, and you get nothing for being in a suite. The buffets are terrible, the people are also very different. I prefer Celebrity but still sail Royal as well. I'm happy you had a such great cruise, and like I say no cruise is a bad cruise, just some are better than others. Happy cruising!

  6. They don't show up under your reservations. I called them a few days ago, because I bought a few things the end of Nov. and printed my order, but what I ordered was not on my visa bill, and I never received a confirmation email. When I called they said they are behind this time of year and filling orders for Dec cruises, and if I still do not see it on my online bill or get an email confirmation by the 2nd of Jan. to call them back. So I still have almost 3 weeks before we cruise, so not too worried.

    Happy cruising!

  7. The last night of the cruise we go by and find our favorite bartenders and give them above and beyond the regular tip. We never tip in advance. I wouldn't tip a waitress in advance so why would I tip the bar staff (show me you are good at what you do, and I'll show you how much I appreciate your service. With that being said we have always had great service on all ships, so all is well.

  8.

and uhh those of us who paid for our suites have every right to enjoy a small time span in an adult only setting. the little darlings are welcome the other 22.5 hours of the day, is it really such a huge burden/insult/outrage that parents are asked to not bring them during the pre dinner cocktail hour? I remember very clearly being sent upstairs to my bedroom and told to stay there when my parents had cocktail parties. I am pretty sure I wasn't scarred for life.

    Agree totally.

  9. so it looks like you pay a cover charge.? so if you pay a fee for lets say Johnny Rockets can you order whatever you like from the menu or then do you also pay al carte on top of the cover charge?

Now for one of the nicer restaurants (chops) does the cover charge pay for your meal? Can you order extras?

The fee does pay for your meal, and you can pretty much order what ever you want in the way of food. In Johnny Rockets you will pay extra for sodas and shakes. The same in the other restaurants you will pay extra for sodas, bottled water, wine and alcohol.

    Enjoy your cruise!
