So far all we definitely know about is Millennium which did not change

For the other two M class ships the restaurants are supposed to remain the same except for Qsine which is supposed to change to La Petit Chef. We won't know definitely until next year when Infinity gets updated.

Le Petit Chef replaced Qsine on Infinity effective with the Pacific Coastal cruise that departed San Diego—for Vancouver—on 17 May 2018.

  2. I'm a local...

Fifteenth Street Fisheries--located on the west side of the Intracoastal Waterway just south of the Seventeenth Street Causeway and the channel leading from the port to the ocean--is a great place to watch the parade of departing ships...  It's located just behind/a bit forward of the Hilton Marina but--due to canals--one can't readily walk from the hotel...  Fifteenth Street Fisheries is a stop on some Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi routes...

First level offers a covered outdoor bar with appetizers/light meals available if desired...  Main restaurant is on the second floor...

Suggest you give it a Google!  No, I'm not associated with the restaurant...

  3. I've done 40+ cruises with Celebrity and--while they used to sell internet packages based upon an allowance of minutes--I've not seen those offered in several years...

If your Captain's Club status is Elite, Elite +, or Zenith, you are entitled to a complementary allowance of 90 minutes, 240 minutes, or unlimited service [1 device] respectively or a scaled discount against purchase of an unlimited plan if Elite/Elite+ or a plan covering more devices if Zenith...  Classic and Select Captain's Club members receive a discount against purchase of an offered internet plan but no complimentary minutes...

I'm sailing Edge on 10 March [Eastern Caribbean] and 28 April [Transatlantic] and Cruise Planner is offering unlimited internet packages--only--with price subject to discount based upon loyalty level [call to pre-purchase or purchase at iLounge once aboard (you can then inquire about possible alternative packages being offered on your cruise) to have the discount applied]…  If a "surf" plan is being offered for advance purchase on your cruise, it would be listed as an option in Cruise Planner...

The only reference that I've ever seen to "surf" plans on Cruise Critic--which is not to say that I haven't missed it otherwise--has been on forums for some of the cruise lines owned by Carnival...

The "Lawn" is an alternative restaurant on some of the S-Class ships.

Celebrity Silhouette and Celebrity Reflection--both Solstice-Class ships--are the only ships in the fleet which offer Lawn Club Grille as a specialty dining option...

I don’t know how true it is and maybe others will confirm it.

i asked why my wife gets all the emails confirming everything that I do on line when I log in and use my account, she has her own user name and PW.   I was told because our accounts are linked and her email is used because it recognizes her first name being listed first alphabetically on the accounts.   It is a real pain when I am trying to confirm something as I have to get her to forward it to me.

I don’t know if that is the real reason as we all know Celebrity will say anything to cover up their crappy system.

We were getting those magazines  and they were addressed  to me but she gets the emails?

    happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Sadly, strange things can and do happen...  But your theory--while entirely plausible in the context of Celebrity's systems--doesn't work in my case...  In the nearly ten years since I first sailed with them, they would have no reason to regard me as anything other than a frequent solo cruiser...

Follow up -- today I received an email that I had renewed my subscription.  The subscription I never ordered.  I also never gave this magazine my email address, so clearly that came from Captain's Club.

Frankly, I would rather see the price of my cruise go down rather than get promotions (magazines and flowers) I'm not interested in. :classic_cool:

Thanks for resurrecting this thread, K...  Though I now recall reading this in the past, it created a connection that didn't initially come to mind...

I wasn't among those who received this magazine last year--and didn't feel deprived--but received an e-mail this morning that thanks me for my subscription and--in addition to having my correct e-mail address--cites my correct mailing address...  I knew I hadn't subscribed and put it on my calendar to contact them on Tuesday...  Their e-mail today makes no reference to Celebrity!

I did see--and appreciate--your fairly recent comments here relative to your experience aboard Edge...  So far, I've only seen the ship's exterior while dropping boarding friends off at Port Everglades but I'll be aboard for a week in the Caribbean on 10 March and again for the Transatlantic on 28 April...  We'll see...

Hope that you are well and happy...  Very best regards...

Hmm, I'm not sure what kind of OBC it is.  It came as one of the perks offered.  I'm thinking that it probably will expire if I don't use it.

If your OBC is a perk from Celebrity associated with your booking [rather than from your Travel Agent, for instance], it is non-refundable...  Use it or lose it...

Your onboard spending [including gratuities if charged daily (not prepaid)] will offset non-refundable OBC until exhausted...

If one has both non-refundable and refundable Onboard Credit, the non-refundable allowance is utilized first...

I give cash but sweeten it with Kit Kats. I had heard they’re popular with the crew.

While your intent is admirable, it is estimated that approximately 9% of the worldwide adult population [1 in 11] is knowingly--or perhaps unknowingly if no symptoms have been noticed and/or no testing has been done--Diabetic...  Cash recognition--supplementing standard gratuities for great service--is always an appropriate means of expressing appreciation to crew and provides recipients opportunity to benefit from your kindness in a personally appropriate way [perhaps including purchasing sweets] as he/she chooses...

-The buffet was just a shell of what it was on our previous cruises, the food choices were very weird, pork and beans for breakfast

Thank you for review...  Not my thing but please know that "pork and beans" are viewed as an essential component of a "Full English Breakfast" and are frequently offered at cruise ship buffets [for instance, Celebrity has an English Breakfast station] or as a "side" on cruise ship "sit down" breakfast menus regardless of where ships are sailing...

  10. Apparently you will be embarking on a Sunday if Edge will be in port on the same day...

On Sundays, Royal Caribbean’s Harmony Of The Seas uses Terminal 18.

I dropped friends off at Port Everglades this past Sunday (February 10) for a cruise aboard Silhouette; the ship was at Terminal 29.

When I sailed Silhouette on Sunday,  November 18, Terminal 25 had been completed but had not yet had its ribbon cutting and Edge had not yet arrived from Europe.  We embarked at Terminal 26 and, twelve days later (a Friday), we disembarked at 25.

As a local, I can’t speak to the availability of a separate pre-boarding waiting area or it’s size; I usually check in at ~ 11:30 and board immediately.  For those arriving  before boarding starts, first boarding is extended to guests occupying topmost suites (Penthouse and Royal) along with Zenith members of Captain’s Club (regardless of cabin category); actually, those few guests are met at check-in and escorted aboard in any case.  They are quickly followed by those—to use Silhouette as the example—in Celebrity and Sky Suites, then AquaClass, then Concierge Class, etc...

May I ask, are you assigned a specific table in Luminae or is it forst come first served or depending on suite category? Thanks

Open seating--dine when you wish [I've only once had a wait]--with table assignment on a first come/first served basis irrespective of suite category...

I booked via "Flights by Celebrity" but was able to get my Jet Blue seats and my flight info via the Jet Blue site once I got the Confirmation number through Celebrity.  I assume I will get boarding passes directly from the airline on the app.

Advance seat selection and advance confirmation of flight information is not uncommon on most US-based airlines...  The practice can be very different--with some having variances based upon class of service--when using non-US airlines...

You will still need to check in for your flight--on JetBlue, within 24 hours of flight departure time [first flight if more than one] at the earliest--to secure boarding passes by paper or via your smart phone...

  13. (At a minimum, current night dinner menus are posted outside the entrances to the dining rooms [early if a port day, later on a sea day--after lunch--when the MDR serves lunch (Blu does not serve lunch)].

Celebrity is currently testing a smart phone application aboard three ships which, among other functionalities, apparently displays the menus for each night of the cruise; I've not used it yet but will do so while aboard Edge next month.  To the best of my knowledge, the app has not yet been introduced [they are working through "bugs''} for use aboard Equinox and I've not seen a schedule for fleet-wide rollout.

At a minimum, I believe that the Blu Maitre 'D or Hostess/Host will be able to provide you with a preview of the next night's menus in both Blu and the Main Dining Room upon request...  On a seven night cruise, they may be able to provide you with previews of both menus--day-by-day--for the entire seven days.

  14. When using Flights By Celebrity--and I've done so quite a few times--it is not uncommon for e-doc issuance to be delayed relative to the "seven weeks prior" schedule that tends to be the norm when Flights By Celebrity has not been used.  The goal is to provide you with the most accurate information relative to your flight--flight number/timing; those can be changed by the airlines right up to the last minute--as is feasible while still getting your e-docs out to you in advance...  If you have four weeks to go, I expect that you will receive a link to your electronic cruise documents any time now...

As others have noted, you--or your Travel Agent if you have used one--may certainly call Captain's Club now to arrange to have luggage tags mailed to your home [if in The US or Canada; luggage tags are not mailed in other markets].

  15. Despite the fact that you've selected an 8:30 PM dining time, you did so solely to satisfy antiquated requirements of Celebrity's computer systems.  Blu offers Select Dining--that is, arrive when you wish to be seated during dinner hours--rather than fixed dining times and does not accept reservations--for a time or a specific table--for flexible dining.

Upon arriving in you stateroom on embarkation day, you will likely find a letter from Blu's Maitre 'D which suggests a dining time for first night dinner.  That practice is intended to allow the Blu Maitre 'D to "level out" dining demand on the first night until such time as he/she can gauge the dining time preferences of a new group of guests but is--by no means--binding; you may still show up when you wish during operating hours on the first night.

Having completed 18 AquaClass cruises, I can recall only one instance--it happened to be a "first night" when a very significant number of AquaClass guests all seemed to arrive at Blu at the same time--in which I needed to wait about twenty minutes for a table [they will give you a "beeper" to alert you when it is ready should you choose to go to nearby Ensemble Lounge for a drink].  Otherwise--perhaps I've been lucky--I've always been seated immediately or within a matter of a few minutes.  Despite coming across as somewhat cumbersome, the system has always worked very well for me.

As a courtesy, it will be appreciated if you notify the Blu Maitre 'D or Hostess/Host of your Specialty Dining plans in advance so they not expect you.

Should you wish to dine in the Main Dining Room and know in advance--day/time--when you want to do so, it is most efficient to have the Blu Maitre 'D or Hostess/Host make a reservation for you, you'll show up at the MDR Select Dining Room entry, join the "with reservation" line, and they'll be expecting you.  If you decide to dine in the MDR on an impromptu base, show up at the MDR Select Dining Room entry when you wish, join the "without reservation line, and they will seat you either immediately or when a table becomes available.

Blu does not offer the full MDR menu; rather they offer a few appetizer, entrée [steak, chicken, salmon], and desert favorites from the MDR menu that are available nightly in both restaurants.  The Blu menu isn't available in the Main Dining Room.  On Solstice-Class ships [Equinox is one of them], Blu and the MDR do not share a galley.

Enjoy your cruise and enjoy Blu; obviously I'm a fan!

Thanks for taking us on this journey.  This in particular blows me away. I hope they roll this out fleet wide. I have been Gluten free for a while now and have no problem with Celebrity on the Summit, they have been fantastic. However, now I find myself having to be dairy and sugar free (fun right ?)  This would great if they have this on the "new and improved" Summit on our May sailing.

I too am sugar-free and, while aboard Silhouette in late November, noticed that they had significantly improved the food descriptions in The Oceanview Café as to dietary considerations...

  17. A quick internet search revealed the following link to guidance--published by Carnival Corporation--relative to travel in Cuba...  Such information wouldn't vary by cruise line and appears to be current...

    https://www.carnival.com/awaywego/cruising-fun/how-to-plan/everything-you-need-to-know-before-cruising-to-cuba

Bottom line is that Carnival indicates that a Passport Card or a Birth Certificate/Photo ID combo is insufficient for a US citizen to enter Cuba; a Passport Book is required...  Given that Cuba considers the Passport Card unacceptable for entry, I would not personally consider it sufficient for tourism/"walking around" purposes once entry has been granted...

  18. Gonzo70 is correct...  Celebrity's Millennium-Class and Solstice-Class ships will not be retrofitted with Infinite Verandas as those ships are revolutionized...

Having attended a talk relative to Revolution plans while aboard Silhouette in late November, you will note that I posted the same information in response to the same inquiry on 11 December via the link below [specifically, please see Post #31]…

  19. Though it is rare for Celebrity to offer discounted solo supplements, they are occasionally offered via their weekly [published on Tuesday] "Exciting Deals" offerings...  None are offered this week but you'll find them via the following link...

    http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/Exciting_Deals/XcitingDeals_cel_tues.pdf

Celebrity provides double points when a solo pays a full [200%] single supplement...  When the solo supplement is less than 200%, double cruise points are not awarded...

No -- we have received them when booked into Aqua staterooms.  We have received the list of MC events and also have had the MC concierge remind us to attend (which we generally don't).  For example, we were in Aqua last fall for a B2B on the Millennium, and on both legs received the list of MC events with encouragement to attend.   Has happened with in Aqua on other ships as well.  Wonder why you are not receiving them too.  Perhaps we are just lucky.

I don't tend to travel in suites [usually AquaClass; sometimes Concierge Class] but, as a Zenith member, have always been invited and encouraged to attend the Officers' Gathering [and all other events] in Michael's Club too...

Best to you and C, G...

    Will some become infinity balconies?

While aboard Silhouette last month, I attended a presentation relative to "The Revolution" of the Millennium-Class and Solstice-Class ships...

The speaker--from Future Cruise Sales--was quite clear that the "Infinite Balcony" concept will not be introduced on the ships that are being revolutionized...

-AQ to AQ (I don't think there are any connecting and I am pretty sure they all hold 2 but who knows)

You are correct...  Fleet-wide, Aqua Class staterooms are not staterooms that connect via the interior and none accommodate more than two guests...

Best wishes in achieving satisfactory resolution...  I'm hard pressed to figure out how your Travel Agent and/or Celebrity didn't realize the disconnect prior to booking...
