I read when Magic Carpet is positioned on deck 5 when dining at Raw on Five, we are able to order from both menu's of Raw on Five and Magic Carpet, is this true?  Do you know what time Magic Carpet is on deck 5 so that we are able to choose a dinner time to be able to order on both menu's?

I've been on Edge twice for a total of 22 days between mid-March and mid-May...

On both cruises [things may have since changed], the Magic Carpet dinner--with special menu--was only offered once per week as weather and sea conditions permitted.  Advance reservations for the Magic Carpet dinner are not accepted until aboard, can be difficult to secure, and--of course--the date may flex should weather/sea conditions warrant.

When the Magic Carpet dinner was held, the Magic Carpet itself was located on Deck 14 with food service staged via the nearby Mast Grill...

BE CAREFUL!  The “wider place / cut out “ in the deck plan diagrams do NOT correspond with the bed in all cases. It drove me cray until I did an exhaustive search. At least on deck 10 aft, I have verified by watching review videos (and looking at the cabin spreadsheet on CC) that on the Port side the wider place is where the bed is BUT on the starboard side it is opposite.  Specifically search on YouTube for the Edge cabin review of 10222. The video shows the bed by the bathroom yet the floor plan “wider segment” indicates the bed by the window / balcony/ IV.  Even the Celebrity rep tried to tell me that based on the floor plan, 10222 would be bed by balcony. ITS CRAZY!  And would be very unfortunate if you spent a lot of money only to find the bed in the “wrong” position.

Celebrity needs to fix their diagram on the website.

I can confirm that the Edge deck plans are not particularly accurate relative to bed placement...  I occupied 10222 [no, the review you saw is not mine] for a week in March and 9236 for the Transatlantic in April/May...  In both cases I expected the bed to be adjacent to the balcony based upon the "bump out" shown on the deck plans--my preference--but, in reality, bed placement was instead adjacent to the closet/closer to the bath...

You may be on to something relative to the accuracy of the port versus the apparent inaccuracy of starboard deck plans in this regard...  Can't validate but my experiences--on both Decks 9 and 10--tend to suggest so...

Is there a nightlight in the rooms, if so, where would it be located?

On Edge, there is a nightlight--certainly not high-powered but it was more than sufficient for me--that is mounted beneath the counter in the bath and subtly illuminates the floor...  If you leave the bath door slightly ajar [but do know that the closure is magnetic and may engage with ship movement], it may be adequate for your needs...

If you need something more, consider bringing a small nightlight or two to increase the brightness...  On Edge, there is a power outlet (not of the "shaver only" variety] in the bath--again below the counter with an adjacent shelf [I used it for my electric toothbrush--that easily accommodates one...  There are also outlets in the living area if you desire more light in the sleeping area...

  4. The cooking excursion I participated in while at Cozumel was offered by Celebrity but operated through a third party at a local venue...  There are all kinds of “good reasons” that have nothing to do with Celebrity choice or discretion that could cause cancellation by the venue...

Three months is more than an adequate lead time to arrange a suitable substitute.  And indeed excursions are sometimes cancelled on much shorter notice—including on the day it is to occur—due to weather, illness, mechanical and logistical difficulties on shore or on ship, or failure to attract a sufficient group so as to make the tour economically viable...  Stuff happens...

Your recourse is to come up with Plan B...  With lots of influences and parties in the equation , travel circumstances can/do change; with respect, happy and fulfilled travelers adapt...

Thank you Bo, but where will I find the spreadsheet?

After accessing the appropriate sticky thread above [there is one for Millennium-Class, one for Solstice-Class, and one for Edge], you will find a link to the most current spreadsheet via the very first post to that thread...

Previously traveled on Celebrity where we could take large cup to bars and get free fountain soda to drink in stateroom.  Does HAL offer the same service?

My guess is that you haven’t cruised with Celebrity in several years...  They now sell all sorts of beverage packages—alcohol and non-alcohol with varying inclusions—but haven’t sold an “unlimited soda only package” such as you recall it (included a thermal tumbler; no charge for fountain drinks at bars once purchased) for quite some time now...

  7. The Oceanview Cafes on each of the Solstice-Class ships (including Equinox) have always featured island type food service stations...

I don’t know for certain but it seems to me that it may be that the Oceanview Cafes on the older Millennium-Class ships will be converted from their cafeteria line service model to the more contemporary island type food service stations...

  8. In 2020, Summit will...

    • Offer seven 7 night itineraries--round-trip Bayonne to Bermuda--with earliest departure on 9 May and latest departure on 26 July
    • Offer one 14 night itinerary--Bayonne to Dublin concentrating on Iceland/Greenland--departing on 2 August
    • Offer one 14 night itinerary--Dublin to Boston concentrating on Iceland/Greenland--departing on 16 August
    • Offer four 12 night itineraries--round trip Boston to New England/Canada---with earliest departure on 30 August and latest departure on 5 October
    • Offer one 12 night itinerary--Boston to Fort Lauderdale with a few port calls in the Caribbean [including San Juan in route]--departing on 17 October
    • Offer one 15 night itinerary--westbound Panama Canal from Fort Lauderdale to San Diego--departing on 29 October
    • Offer one 15 night itinerary--eastbound Panama Canal San Diego to Fort Lauderdale--departing on 13 November
    • Offer one 7 night itinerary--Fort Lauderdale to San Juan--departing on 28 November

It appears that Summit will begin doing 7 night Caribbean itineraries--round-tip San Juan--starting on 5 December 2020

  9. I believe that Wine-O is correct...  I occupied 2105--on Eclipse, deck plan is the same as Equinox--for two weeks in March/April 2016 and seem to recall that the bed is near the bath...  That's not usually my personal preference but selected the stateroom for its larger balcony...

    Terrific, convenient location!

Also their customer service I believe is in Omaha, not necessarily near their home office.

Actually, most of the Captain's Club representatives--including some members of the Shoreside Concierge Team--are based in Wichita, Kansas [316 Area Code]…  A smaller cadre of Captain's Club Reps and a few members of the Shoreside Concierge Team are based in Miami [305 Area Code]...

Initial contact by a member of the Shoreside Concierge Team is dependent upon ship with assignments changing from time to time...

  11. If you have been confirmed for Select Dining in the Main Dining Room for your Equinox trip, you may make reservations—night by night; at no charge—via the Cruise Planner “Dining” link (in the same area that can be used for making Specialty Dining purchases/reservations)...

Anyone know if you can have late checkout at Miami’?

Sorry but per Homeland Security/Transportation Safety Administration regulations, an "Extend Your Stay" option cannot be offered at any US port.

  13. Though not Suite Class, the aft Concierge Class 1 staterooms on Millennium Class ships (Decks 7, 8 and 9) feature huge balconies...  By my guess, a half to two-thirds of those verandas are sheltered from above with the area closest to the rail  unsheltered...

Those cabins on Decks 7 and 8 have other staterooms above and below; those on Deck 9 have the Sunset Bar and outdoor 0ceanview dining above...

I must have 30 of those credit card leather cases.  Not helpful for me- works for my DH.  We were given the type that fastens on our phone on the Edge in December- Perhaps Celebrity only gives to suites now.  I did not use the phone one as I didn't want to fasten onto my case.  It wouldn't work well.  Lanyards the best for me.

I too have a very substantial collection of the credit card-sized leather cases; like your husband, they work really well for me...

I sailed Edge to the Caribbean for a week in March and again for fifteen days on the April/May Transatlantic...  As I've reported here in the past, the credit-card sized "leather" cases are [or perhaps, were] back--only difference is that they are now light gray rather than black--for the Transatlantic and were distributed, as has always been true, to guests traveling in Concierge Class, AquaClass and Suites...  I don't yet know if they've been returned for distribution to guests occupying the same stateroom categories aboard other ships in the fleet...

  15. While it is true that basic sundries tend to be stocked for sale aboard ship--Alakegirl is correct; sometimes they're not displayed and you need ask--you might consider picking up items you've forgotten or that need replenishment while in port...  Oftentimes you can make those landside purchases at a fraction of the cost aboard ship...

  16. From an inventory perspective, I highly recommend that you have your cabin steward remove/stow the contents of the mini-bar upon embarkation rather than doing so yourself...  Less chance of disagreement and/or potential charges for any shortfalls--which may have occurred during the prior cruise--that may be detected in the item counts...
