  1. Monday, 16th September - Taormina

The ship docks at a small town called Naxos. It seemed to have a long esplanade, with many cafes and lodging accommodations - a typical seaside town. The ship advised everyone to take a ship shuttle to Taormina, which is a steep and long climb, but with a fare of $49pp, many chose alternatives. ) QUOTE

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I always enjoy reading reviews, especially the ones with photos. I am very sorry to hear about Rosy's fall. I hope her shoulder has recovered.

I was on an Azamara cruise to Taormina in October, 2010. At that time, there was a free shuttle from the tender port to a parking garage on the hillside. From there , we took the elevator in the garage, and a short walk to the walled gate into Taormina. I am disappointed to hear that they are now charging for the shuttle.

When we were there on Azamara in June there was not a charge for the shuttle.

  2. I agree Uktog. From my experiences on Azamara & Celebrity, the OBC's rarely appear on your account until Day 2 or 3 of your sailing.

That is interesting info, we usually wait a few days then check but I did not realise it took a few days to arrive on the account. Thank you

  3. Hi Tim,

Just posted on your roll call the M&M will amlost certainly take place onboard usually at sailaway on the first day.

We board as you disembark, have a great trip and I am looking forward to your 'live from'. :)

  4. Sounds like an import from Regent - a nice idea. You go out of your suite (maybe with a drink in your hand) at the appointed time, and meet the people in the suites near and opposite you. Probably the CD, even Captain and other officers may pass by and chat to everyone.

On another point - I liked both Rachel and Susan (very few toodle-oos when we were on board, and by the way it is toodle-oo not tootle-oo), and also endorse not putting all the menus on your reports, a big time taker. It would be good instead to know what you actually had and enjoyed (or not!) But do keep them coming; it is good to hear from someone other than you-know-who every day.;)

Many thanks for the info about the 'block party'.... (I assumed it was 'toodle oo' as well)

We are out your way, on the coast, this weekend and in 2 weeks, time so hope you are having good weather :) ;)

  5. I have been involved in roll calls on both seabourn and larger cruise lines.

I find it depends on the demographic of the passengers.

I do find that very few members from uk will post, rather it is usually people from other countries. but again sometimes it is not many or certainly not a high percentage.

Like Dan says, I am sure you will make friends onboard, and have a great trip.

  6. I am letting a friend have a referral coupon for her upcoming trip.

The coupons I have have the address of 6100 blue lagoon Drive.

Does anyone have the new correct address, and a name to address it to?

As we are both in the uk will it work if she sends to uk TA or to southampton. does anyone have the current southhampton address?

Has anyone had any problems with this?

Many thanks for any help. :)

  7. Two questions regarding referrals if I may. As a recent Seabourn sailor I've just received our referral certificates to pass on to other newbies.

First question. Am I correct that here is no disadvantage to me in passing on the referral certificate to a first time future sailor even though I don't have my next Seabourn cruise booked ? In fact, it will be a year or two away. As I read it once the person I give the referral to pays in full, I receive my obc certificate which I can use on any future cruise no matter how far away.

Second, can I as the donor apply more than one obc to the same future cruise? Seabourn has given the two of us 4 certificates.

Many thanks. These questions have probably been answered in the past but for the moment I can't find the answer.

I was told by Seabourn that you would be issued with an OBC certificate not sure of the validity of these I think I have read they have to be used within two years.

I would not think it was possible to use two for the same cruise but I do not know. hope that helps.

  8. Hello Everyone,

Finally, we booked our first cruise with Seabourn! :D

I started reading the boards and saw this thread. We booked 2 cabins with our friends, and would appreciate if someone can send us 2 referral coupons. Our final payment date is Feb 24th, but it looks like you can still apply a coupon after it.

Please email: enigme79-drdre (at) yahoo (dot) com.

    Thank you! :)

I may be able to help I have sent an email to you.

  9. Hi Henry,

I would contact one of the smaller Travel agents that specialise in Premium cruise lines. I have found them to be very helpful. They also give a discount on the seabourn web price. Like you say there is not much price differential.

  10. :confused:Has anyone heard of an issue using a referral coupon as a first time Seabourn cruisers because they had received a discounted fare from their TA?

Not for me but the cc member I sent a coupon too.

As far as I am aware there should not be any problem with a discounted fare.

I suspect that the TA does not know what they are talking about.

I would advise that traveller to deal with seabourn direct. that way they then know that the referral coupon has actually been applied to their account.

  11. Would be interested in your referral coupon. Also any info you might have on transportation from London Heathrow to Dover where the ship will be sailing from.

    Thank you,

    Kay

    Hi Kay,

Sorry DJJcruiser has had my referral coupon, hopefully someone else will be able to help you.

Heathrow is a good way from Dover, probably 0ne to two hours drive depnding on time of day. I would suggest the easiest option would be to prebook a taxi transfer. If you look under the ports of call board for england there may be more info there. Sorry i cannot be more help as we drive ourselves to Dover.

  12. Hi, We live in the uk and will be booking our 1st Seabourn cruise in a few days time. However due to our cruise being last minute in June we are having to make full payment of our cruise at time of booking. We have been told by seabourn that as long as they recieve the coupon from our referral friends at least 1week before our cruise on 20th June 2010 we shall be credited our onboard spend. We however have to provide details of our referral friends at time of booking. Is this true? Does anyone have a spare coupon to spare? And has anyone had similar experience. We are new to this and am quite confused as to how it works. My email is van_38@hotmail.com.

    Many Thanks

I have a referral coupon that I am happy to let you have.

I am based in the uk so if you wanted to phone I am happy to give you the details over the phone prior to actually sending the coupon.

I have sent you an email.

    Kind regards

    Linda

  13. Hi Sue,

All I can say is try it, you will be hooked on Seabourn!.

Have seen your posts on P&O :) we have also done P&O, Cunard, Royal Carribbean and NCL. we first went on Seabourn in October 09 on the Spirit. Seabourn wins hands down on service, food and general ambience. We just love it all, you are treated as special and we love the small ship experience. We already have a booking for May this year and are looking for a cruise for September.

However, if you do need glitzy shows they are not available on Seabourn, the entertainment is more low key but still very enjoyable, and still enough to do.

p.s Just returned from weekend on Artemis, a lovely ship.

    Happy browsing, Linda :)
