Harmony is build cheaper ( e.g lots of plastic where her sisters have glass panels ) and has ( had?) MANY service issues...I am not surprised
Agree over finish.
The first cruises did not help and I think European reviewers tend to be a bit more critical.

My parents and others I know love Ventura
We hated it....I would give it a 2nd chance my wife wouldn't.
We all have our own opinions the majority enjoy it :)
-
If it isn't Phantom I reckon it will be Les Mis.
Hasn't Nick Weir teased about both in the past?
I wasn't fussed on Grease on Harmony
14th November he posted a random picture of Les Mis on twitter

I used to think the slots paid out more on the first day to tempt you back :)
I have since realised they don't and will take my money just the same as any other day :loudcry:
-
We have tipped on a few occasions.
However; I don't think it is customary but they will not turn it down

Asked this earlier but nobody replied. Due on Jewel shortly. Any thoughts on Simona?
Anyone?
Clearly she does not have the Ken Rush factor :)

As with everything you should consult a medical practitioner but to my (good) understanding I wouldn't think a day stop in Labadee it would be needed
-
UK NHS advice is you don't usually need unless staying overnight.

Trying to decide whether we should do the Bottomless Lunch on our upcoming cruise. I fancied it but rest of family did not seem keen.
-
It also depends where in the world you are cruising, eg Europeans tend to eat later than Americans.
Absolutely...ships with lots of the same nationality tend to be full at the same times.
especially for breakfast excursions/port days is the biggest driver

Although the will be people passing through. Wonderland Bar we had to ourselves on a couple of occasions

Simona came straight from AD, and only had a 1 month break between JW from Jul-Nov and AD in Dec-Feb, so I don't think so. Also, FR is from Barcelona, not Civitavecchia. I would imagine her heading back to Jewel in June/July.
I think it might be Jerome taking over FR for the summer season. Maybe someone could contact him on Twitter?

On one of our Freedom theater tours, I asked our host/guide crew member why the Ice show has been the same for so long. As with other shows on other ships, it is obviously expensive to change out the costumes, the set, and retrain the performers.
He said it was cheaper to just send the ship to a new home port, picking up a whole new set of cruisers (for the most part anyway) that had not seen the show yet. It was fresh and new for them. ;)
Whilst that is true RC don't seem to move their ships that much.
-
We experienced just the opposite. They did not want to put an older, more mature child with the younger ones. They did however, allow the younger to move up to the older group.
I agree...
we have had our kids offered to move up when they are on the border.
Although never asked I have seen parents turned down with the opposite request several times.
Personally I would think it is risk for RC allowing an older child move down in the off chance they injure a younger child

We are on the anthem next week and am wondering is there any hassle to ask for diary alternatives for coffee in MDR/Buffett/specialty restaurants? It is just such a small thing I didn't think we would need to email special services about this but now as I think about it maybe I should have.
Any thoughts?thnx.
We have never had any problem getting it. Sometimes in the smaller venues less helpful staff will not get it if run out. Alternatively I remember one waiter walking the whole ship to get it.

We are on the same sailing on April 2nd enjoying your review :D

If we do universal we are only interested in one park. Universal Studios
Sent from my iPad using Forums
We spent full day there from 7:00am last year and had Express pass as staying at Loews Royal Pacific(family of 4 works out cheaper staying overnight than buying) and we only just did all the main stuff.. minus Hogwarts Express which broke down for the day.
The park was pretty quiet as well but had a horrendous wait at Simpsons.
We did 2 days for both parks but I think you probably need 3; which is what we are going to do in July; and that includes having Express pass.
The wait without Express pass can be really lengthy. Personally I hate Express Pass but it is a charge you cant really avoid unless you have lots of time.

Saturdays at Epcot during food and wine are nuts! You couldn't pay me to go.
Agree we went in October just gone and the Saturday was the busiest I have seen EPCOT far busier than during summer. The Food and Wine drags in the locals with Annual Passes.
We have noticed in our 3 October trips it is getting a lot busier especially EPCOT.
However; if you are going midweek it is brilliant :)

The really isn't enough time to do either and Universal unless you buy express pass; which are not cheap; you will be lucky to do more than 1 or 2 attractions.
Not quite sure where you will be dropped off but the parking lot is a pretty decent walk from the parks at Universal and will eat into your time.
To do Universal in 1 day in my opinion you have to arrive early and get an Express pass. Arriving in afternoon you will be lucky to do anything without Express pass and not much even with.
Disney you might get some stuff done if you can get some Fastpasses booked in advance which presumably won't be easy as you will not have your tickets.
I tend to agree with Kennedy suggestion but if Disney or Universal is the aim I would go for EPCOT as at least you can have a walk around World Showcase

We did on Allure last year. Fantastic fun would go on a New Year Cruise every year.
Big party on promenade and various other places.
Special meal in restaurant.
Plenty of drink.....great times :D :champagne-toast:

The cheapest bottle of wine on Princess is $32.20, does not say so but looks to be a standard price. Then add 18% comes to nearly $38. So that is £25.83 and £30.48, at today's exchange rate.
On P&O you can still get wines for around £15 to £20 per bottle. With no add on. That makes most wine half the price on P&O

My impression (with limited knowledge) is that beer and wine are cheaper on P&O.
Spirits measures are much smaller so work out quite a bit more expensive

I hope it works out for you. :)
Makes my whinging today that customer service have not responded to 2 emails insignificant.
What happened to the birthday cake?
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
Birthday cakes and Royal Caribbean bring back memories of humour and poor organisation.
My 40th birthday cake organised by my Dad got delivered to his cabin(not Chops Grille as arranged), on the wrong day with his name on it! :D
We did eventually get it on the right day, with right name and right place....& some fond memories
Not sure I would bother arranging one online. When i arranged with our waiter for my wife it arrived correctly and he never charged me :D
