That's too bad.....
We will be boarding on Sunday (TA) and then have a heavy port schedule after we leave Rome for the 9 night Greek cruise. I was hoping to grab breakfast sandwiches as we left each morning.

Never looked but I wonder if Cafe Lattitudes might have them at breakfast time. Noticed on Compass opens at 6:30am

Surprised not adding a musical to Freedom for Barcelona

Cruised Jewel 16 years ago. Thinking about going again next year.
Enjoy your cruise. Looking forward to reading your review
Thanks
It was great cruise really enjoyed it.
The ship still looks fantastic and despite the talk of constant cuts Royal Caribbean still do look after their ships really well. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to sail on Jewel again.
I am in the process of adding further reviews/reports/pictures/videos on the cruise and hopefully will complete in the next week(or 3)

They do various icebreaker games and parties etc.
However; from my 13 year old they just tend to "hang out"!
She has really enjoyed it though and likes the freedom the teen section gives.

Hello,
We are getting ready to sail on Allure in June and we are getting cruise fever pretty bad. We have read all the Allure reviews in the past 20 pages or so (maybe 5) and tried searching for them with the search tool and getting all kinds of random threads when searching. If you have links to Allure reviews please share them! Thank you.
If you want something a little different my review of the All Access Tour.
Highly recommended. Although I understand it has changed a little now.

I think the was 6 ships in St. Maarten the other week. It handles crowds really well but the port must be starting to reach capacity.

A while back it was reported that the company was requiring the bar people to use measures.
I guess it was coming that measures would be introduced.
Years ago myself and a friend went on a Thomson cruise and he ordered a scotch. He got a full half pint glass :D
Those were the days :')
-
I noticed in the solarium last week on Jewel they were using measures...not noticed before.
Admittedly he wasn't really sticking to it as was certainly quite a bit more. Not sure if this new or just getting used as a guide for cocktails.
On P&O they measure all sprits and you certainly get a more generous measure on RCCL

That's with as it is UK price.
They add 18% on at the till for drink packages

Although you can have a good day without spending a penny I really enjoyed Malfini Beach.

We were on Jewel in February. Scheduled 6:00 dinner in Chops the first night. Finished dinner just in time for the muster drill. Just by chance our muster drill station was Chops, so we just stayed there.
The table next to us had a 7 PM reservation. The waiters actually took their food away at 7:59 PM due to the muster drill. The people had to leave and go to their station and come back later to finish their dinner.
Must be similar situations in the MDR. The muster drill is at 8 PM every week, I wonder why they allowed this to happen.
I think they stopped letting people into MDR. We were finished just before 8 and whole dining room was empty. The first day service was so rushed. It was clearly due to the muster. I was going to ask to change waiters if it continued but they were so much better after 1st night

Wondering if you found out what the big clothes pins are.... If you didn't I believe they are chair clips so you can clip you towel to the chair.
Yes I found out. My parents who know these random things knew.
Never found the chocolate milk though :D

Ship got in at 6am. Passengers were self disembarking by 6:30 - 6:45 am. The calling of numbers seemed mighty slow. We had 22 and didn't get called until nearly 10 am. Best hint I can give is to use a porter. The time it saves is worth the money!
Absolutely agree has access to a quicker immigration line and somehow he took us to the front of the taxi line.
How much do people tip the porters? Not sure if we undertipped
-
Based on what we paid last week should be around $15 in a taxi if you are at PanAm to get to Old Town.
-
Perfect and thank you very much.
We saw a carnival ship their last week. t is a brilliant location assuming same pier.
Had a great time in san juan wish i was still there
-
Thank you for letting me know!
Regardless of menu, I'm sure we will have a great cruise.
Having tried both fairly recently.....
Probably controversial but I prefer the older Jewel menus.
I didn't particularly like the appetisers on Harmony.
-
Black pudding good stuff although I'm the only one in our house who likes it.
British(Danish) bacon I think was on Allure last year wasn't on Jewel last week. Still don't like the American bacon.
No mushrooms on Jewel either is that normal?
Pie shop interesting development

We are on the fall TA coming back from Rome, and I'm getting a little concerned about the offerings at the Solarium Cafe.
Bob don't worry it was open until at least 2 last week.
No breakfast though served a mix of Cafe Promenade, Sorrentos, Dog House and Park cafe.
Offering varied; it was less during the day; but was usually 2-3 choice of pizza, hot dogs, beef rolls, cakes, cookies, sandwiches at night. Actually thought it was very good.
It opens early afternoon closes, during dinner and then reopens around 9pm.
-
Just wondering...... Or are there are the same amount.
Yes more kids whenever school holidays are
-
Certainly IM, and probably video chat, but the video may be lower quality than you are used to.
Not sure what the options were on Jewel last week as we purchased in advance.
However; we found the surf only package on Harmony to be really poor...perhaps because we were in Europe..Struggled even with emails.
However the full package(before they gave the different options) on Allure we found brilliant. It was a lot better than Jewel in my opinion.
-
It never used to be.
However on our last 3 cruises Allure, Harmony and Jewel it was. Assume it is the norm now

We head to the airport tomorrow after a fantastic vacation. Had a brilliant day today in Old San Juan. Just completed the last part of our live cruise blog covering the last 2 days.
Once home I will add various photographs, reviews, video and what I think most people like to see all the copies of the Cruise Compass for the trip.

Although you said balcony so probably does not fit just come off JS 1098 with the supposed obstructed balcony.
It is a great cabin and you get extra balcony/napping space compared to other JS where the supposed obstruction is.

Any breakfast offerings?
Checked today definitely nothing for breakfast opens mid afternoon and has an early evening break.
How is San Juan and Labadee Haiti?

Taken a 4 year old to Labadee and a 6 year old San Juan.
Also done a 14 day cruise with a 3 year old.
